- I'm in Montenegro! It is my first time ever here. This is episode 1 of 2 in this beautiful country. After arriving in Podgorica, I headed straight to Kotor to explore the coast. I stayed at Old Town Hostel, hiked up to St John's Fortress, went on a boat party and did a road trip with my new hostel friends around Budva and the surrounding area. (including a gorge winery stop - Vinarija Mašanović)

Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

It’s seems like adding more swimwear into your bag was a good decision! I went to Montenegro with my mom and we renting a car and did a ton of exploring. The best.

I found Montenegro to be a bit more spenny than other Balkan countries in general!
@@BackpackingBananas I always believed Croatia to hold that crown but there you go. You are our eyes and ears.
@@nickthomas181 and you are quite right. Due to inflation all prices in Balkans had gone somewhat up, including Monte and Croatia - thus a comaprable day in Croatia will still be at least 50% more vs Monte.
Croatia and Montenegro are probably twice as expensive as Bosnia/Serbia/Albania in my experience
What was the place you were at for the sunset in the mountains? I’m headed to Lovcen week after next and wondering if I should make the drive from Herceg Novi

I’ve had similar experiences like you had riding in taxis and Ubers in South America 😂 It feels like the driving laws are more of a recommendation than a LAW 🤣
