One of the best hacks for grease stains I’ve found is generously sprinkling baby powder over the spots (on still dry clothing) rub it in to make sure it’s covering the stain and let it sit overnight. Toss it in the wash the next morning and the stains are always gone.

Nice! That’s a good tip. Makes sense that it would have a similar affect to the baking soda. I’ll have to try that next time. Thanks for sharing!

Seems like you could use plain cornstarch too as that's the main ingredient in many modern baby powders.

@@sweetesthoneybeeI think it may only work on new stains, if you’ve washed the garment multiple times it’s likely already set in the cotton.

Yahoo!!! It worked. I paid attention to how you had to do a second round by being extra attentive to the spots by putting Dawn on the spots then cover the whole area with baking soda. I used a nail brush to carefully brush the whole area. You saved a brand new dress I bought for the summer. Thank you thank you!! 😊

I saw your video and tried your method. I got oil splatter on two of my almost new, favorite t-shirts. Success! Though I did leave my t-shirts with Dawn and baking soda 3-4 days to penetrate. I only did the treatment once but I took my time with a tooth brush gently scrubbing over and over on the spots. Do not scrub too hard so not to break fabric fibers or create pilling. You saved me from throwing my two shirts away. Thank you so much! Gave you thumbs up and subscribed.

Came back to this to say thank you. You saved my $150 RRL Henley from an oil based hair product bottle that came unscrewed in my suitcase. I did the dish soap and baking soda just like you said. The only small difference is that I put the detergent on top and let them all sit together instead of rubbing in the detergent prior to the wash. They sat rolled up for about four days and I only had to send it through once. This is a life-hack that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.

    • @gcfun

For ink, try rubbing alcohol. I first learned about this trick using hair spray, but the essential component to help remove ink is the alcohol. It may take a few washes, but I have had considerable luck with it. As for acrylic paint, from my quick Googling, it seems alcohol may be able to take care of it also. Doesn't hurt to try! You could use nail polish remover, alcohol-based hair spray or straight rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

I’m honestly unsure, but it can’t hurt to try! Also, to clarify, use baking soda - I think baking powder is a whole different product.
