Thank you for modeling how to speak to people who disagree with you online (re: washing a toilet seat in the tub) while holding your ground. Very classy and professional. I hope you do very well!
Your enthusiasm about cleaning a toilet is amazing
You helped me clean my bathroom for the first time in my first apartment! Thank you!
My dad was a janitor, and during my teens, I went with him on weekends to do his jobs. One of my responsibilities was the restrooms. We used simple powdered cleanser in the 1950-60s. I made a paste with it and did all the porcelain fixtures. After it dried, I could easily buff the surface with clean rags and bring up a shine.
Today at home, I remove the toilet seats, take them out in yard by the drain and squirt them with a garden hose and an APC. I use my shower stall during inclement weather and clean the stall after.
We used pure industrial strength pine oil back in the 50s, and a few drops in each bowl and sink drain would clear all odor from the place.
If I were ever at your house I would be afraid to use the bathroom and ruin your masterpiece!😂 Amazing job though!
This is actually the best toilet cleaning video i have seen yet on UA-cam.As a 52 year old guy who lives alone im always looking at new ways to improve my house and knowledge..Thanks ,great video.
Try zep toilet bowl cleaner, clorox is a cheap alternative.
One thing not mentioned is your water jets can get clogged over time. The best way to clean those is to add some white vinegar to the tank, after 3-5 flushes with vinegar all that grime around the top of the bowl should be gone
I don't have a tank, I use anti scale and elbow grease with a tough scourer sponge 😅
I didn't know that, I'm going to this. Thank you!
5:38 or if your wearing a hoodie, do NOT keep your cell in the front pocket, as it may fall into the toilet😂
And he touched the ties with dirty gloves! Ewww
Dude... I had cleaning jobs for 18 years - NEVER thought of dusting the toilet first 😬
That 'moving wet particles around on a pristine white bowl' has always been the most annoying thing to me....
And somehow I never thought of dusting it first 😶
Thanks. Really. Haha
-
PS. I could've used some more tips on cleaning under the rim...
In my experience, a lot of times there's a lot of calcium buildup there - particularly on toilets in workplaces that get a lot of use during the week.
If I haven't cleaned a surface within a week (or if visible particles), I use a washable microfiber duster *before* wet wiping. Just never considered a disposable duster for "dirty tasks" like the toilet base.
Zep Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner. Nothing cleans those hard water/ rust stains better-- and easier. Just be sure to rinse well and flash a few times because it's pretty powerful stuff.
The dusting was a good tip. Another one he did, but didn't mention, is to clear the bowl of water by "flushing" with a few litres of water (instead of the flush knob). it won't refill, leaving most of the bowl empty for a good undiluted stay with the bleach, so you need less but get better disinfecting.
I'm 16 and I obey my mom to the max, she is the one that is in total control.
Everyday, I come home from school and the 1 st thing I do, is give her my phone...don't want any distractions, then I do my homework, then all the chores for that day, which must be done to my moms satisfaction. Then I do whatever she tells me to do with no back talk or arguing.
On the weekends, I do want she wants me to do, Before I have my "Free time"
People who can’t use their tub for cleaning may be the same ones not getting anything done.
I highly recommend “Quick release” toilet seats as you flip the covers and slide out. No screwing off and back on again - that’s too, too much work and would drive me crazy 😮 LoL
Do you know if these work with bidets too?
@@pinkiepingas Sorry, I do not 😞
Thanks for mentioning this. I don’t have the energy to fight with the toilet seat to get it back on once it’s completely taken apart. Constantly having to re-tighten the screws is bad enough.
We bought a quick release seat five years ago...love it!
@@pinkiepingaswho has a bidet with screwewed on seat?!?☹️😮
Yes on the folding of the towel. Thank god good on you for mentioning that. We have horrible allergies and this is tip number 1!!!
I'm a rookie bathroom cleaner - this was extremely helpful! 💯
5:28 I literally was like "Your strings!!!" just before you got to that part. 😂
The only thing that makes me hesitant about taking the toilet seat off is that we have a bidet installed which means just a little more effort in realigning things when it's time to put it all back together. Otherwise, great tips!
I live in area with hard water. The best product I have used is Zep Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner. It's even better than Clorox.
I have the same problem with hard water. I had never heard of Zep products, but I'm going to try it now. Thank you!
Thank you! My biggest problem when cleaning toilets is the very narrow spaces between the toilet and the walls/tub or vanity. I’m not young anymore, and find it difficult getting down to get to the sides and back of the toilet, then trying to get back up. I think dry dusting should help a bit.
Yeah, I live in an 100 year old house and my landlord believes he's an undiscovered interior designer. My toilet in surrounded by two walls and a third glass wall.
@@laurenskee2665 how do you clean around and behind it?
My hardest place to clean. After having double knee surgery I cannot get down and if I di I can’t get back up
With bad knees I hate trying to clean those curves on the side. My knees kill me bending over
With a duster and a prayer.
Love the detail from start to finish. Seems easy to follow.
Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for acknowledging the dust / hair issue! That's a huge thing cleaning any bathroom, I don't know why but it always is !!
I always dust my toilet before cleaning. It's much easier than dealing with sticky dust. Great vlog.

Funny toilet story…
My college roommate told me this. There were four roommates. One guy just kept forgetting to flush. Finally, the others got pissed (pun intended?). They brought the young man into the bathroom, took a cup, dipped it into the toilet, and said “Flush it, or drink it!” They never had that problem again.
The most dirty part of the toilet is inside under the rim the only brush that get it out is the one with bristles. Also baking soda plus vingear works great as a cleaner and disinfectant
Thanks! This was a great video; love that you list and link preferred products. The dusting tip makes perfect sense, and, as in the world of nursing, work from the cleanest to the dirtiest areas in that order. When cleaning the bowl, I plunge the chute several times so the water level drops. This way, the product can cling to the surface not under water. I like lemon Soft Scrub; it smells good and does a really nice job cleaning and polishing the bowl. Thanks for such helpful videos.
Yes! I always push the water down before adding the cleaner
Highly recommend citric acid for really stubborn spots. Works like magic and is pretty cheap.
That is one SERIOUSLY CLEAN toilet! I learned a lot from this video.
I recommend the deluxe American Standard brand toilets, flat sided, no snaky pipes, no ledges for urine and dust to collect, sooooooooooooooo easy to clean. And only about 50.00 extra per fixture. Lowe's sells them for under 300.00.
Toto also makes a toilet like that. I used to have one and it was easier to clean.
Unfortunately, we just had two American Standard toilets installed and I did not know the company made that kind of base. Bummer.
Also, because I left the project to my spouse who did not look everything over before the plumber installed them, I did not discover until after they were installed that one of the toilets came with a porcelain-finish flaw inside the bowl. The flaw is in front of the inside of the bowl, a little to the right side (not hidden under the rim) and large enough that it is highly visible, so it Always looks like the inside of the bowl has a piece of gunk of some kind in it. Because I did not want to pay to have the toilet removed, return it, wait for a second toilet to arrive, and then pay Again to have a second toilet installed, I decided to just live with it. However, every time I see that spot in the toilet, which is multiple times a day, I am annoyed by neither my spouse nor the plumber bothering to inspect the toilets before installation, and I am even more annoyed about American Standard’s poor quality-control.
I hate having a brand new toilet that always looks like it is not completely clean even after it’s just been cleaned, and/or damaged when we did not damage it, so I resent American Standard and the home improvement store I purchased it from for selling goods that should be sold only as flawed-seconds, not as full-priced, first-grade products.
Thank you so much I clean it all the time with all sorts of products but there is still some things that don't go away, this video was so helpfull
Glad this video came out! I just deep cleaned my two bathrooms today! My 5 year old went pee right after and got it over the seat😅 i went back and disinfected it. My area has hard watee and i was wondering that was! I got the rust out of all of them! Thanks for the video!
Been WAITING for this one, I can stop commenting for it 😂 Thanks Brandon! Didn’t know there was a Patreon! Instant join!
Pink stuff worked very well (when many other products failed) on my hard water build up on my porcelain.
Thank you so much, my dude the amount of people you are helping is insane🙏
you’re a pro, literally. Nice too, and this was a great video. Thanks for all the tips!
I love your channel it’s about cleaning and that you don’t ramble about all your mental issues and asking people to support your son’s remodel
Using a high percentage of white vinegar works wonders, removing build up.
Your videos has saved my life❗
Great Tips Man Thank You!
Great advice!
I always enjoy your cleaning tips.
Wonderful tips never thought to dust prior to cleaning. And towel is a good idea. TFS

That was really perfect and helpful. Thank you.
Thanks!
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. 👍
Great video, I like the part when you show how to use a wipe down towel in all four sides 4:34
This video is perfect. Thanks for all the details of cleaning a toilet.
Thanks so much for watching!
Great video! Gonna use some of these tips next time I def clean my bathroom, thanks for sharing!
This is a good video. I appreciate how efficiently you delivered the info instead of wasting our time with a long intro telling us all about your personal life and/or repeating yourself over and over. You delivered the information efficiently in a very pleasant manner.
One spot you forgot: Wipe down and disinfect the side of the sink-cabinet that is facing the toilet. It, too, gets urine splatters on it, especially in a house with males who pee standing up.
Thank you.
Any tips on cleaning a toilet which has a bidet attachment (kind that attaches under the toilet seat). Usually hard to get behind that part.
Excellent video.
Glad you liked it!
You do such a great on your videos!
Love it! Thank you. :)
When you disinfected the screws for the toilet seat, I knew I had to subscribe. I’ve never thought to do that. 🤷🏻♀️
Great tips for a detailed cleaning Brandon! How many takes for that intro with the duster being thrown in? 🤣
Only 2 or 3! 😅
My new favorite UA-camr!!
aw thanks!!
OMG! This is a life safer! As someone who just recently started living on my own, I had those rings and the hard water except I didn't know what it was and no matter how hard i scrubbed it did NOTHING! The ring faded a bit, but was still there. It got to the point I started scrubbing it every 3 days and I just couldn't get them to work. I will 100% try your suggestion! Just a quick question, is CLR and bar keepers friend also gonna work on toilet rings or do I have to buy pumic stone for that?
You are the best
Love the video
Just subbed today! Great tips!
Thank you!
Happy New Year 🎊
Could you recommend an equivalent disinfectant spray to the In-cide disinfectant you use for your UK audience please?
Thata a nice long toilet bowl brush. Can you share what brand it is and where you got it please.
I recently purchased a gallon of the In-Cide concentrate. Unfortunately, they don't have a dilution ratio on the label. What would you suggest if you didn't buy the bottles?
I use a cleaning wipe on the outside and rim of the toilet every day or so, and around the base. Scrub inside with barkeepers friend every five days or so.
I love your videos
Do you have any recommendations on pink stains around the toilet on the floor? Thanks!
wow man you're so good
Number one is to get rid of two piece toilets and go with a one piece. That will eliminate the gap between the tank and bowl which can leak but the main issue is dirt.
Hello, may I ask if there is away to avoid discoloration of toilet seats (the removable part). Or should I avoid using certain cleaning products?
You are awesome!!!!!!!
You make cleaning fun🤣
Hello!you are the best
Can you do a video on the toilet wand vs the brush? I do not understand why people use the brush. I'd like to hear your preference & why.
What do you use to clean the bowl?
@@bleeka325 the Chlorox wand
Can you do a video on how to remove the build up inside the toilet water tank. I have hard water . Pls help
Hello from Appleton! Saw you on the morning news and wanted to check your videos out! I do have a question about yellowing on my toilet bowl (around the inside just below where the toilet seat is). I’ve tried scrubbing that area but it never comes off. Any tips on how to clean that area? Thanks and thank you for the cleaning videos!
You could always try using a pumice stone! Just make sure the surface is lubricated with cleaner/water - you don't want to scratch the surface of the porcelain
Genuine question: do you use the same pair of gloves the entire time, or do you change em every now and then? Because I just imagine spreading around all of the germs youre trying to clean up? Lile, when you put your sweatshirt strings inside - were those dirty gloves? Again, genuine question. Im curious.
I recently found the best cleaner hands down for stubborn decade long stains in my toilet like bad build up where the down spout that helps flush the toilet was blocked up with deposits to only let a little pencil lead thin stream out of it. usually taking a screwdriver would help ream it out to get it back to a somewhat usable state for a couple years. we tried everything from household cleaners, and pumice stone. but it was always stained a brown buildup. my boss told me i should try muriatic acid. i was partly worried about it damaging my toilet so my first round of cleaning i did it weak and short. and already i saw change in the brown of the toilet. i gave it a stronger strength the second round and sit longer. came back to a nasty brown and white film on top of the fluids in the toilet. I flushed and literal chunks of the brown were not gone and the down spout was fully clear. after scrubbing with a toilet brush i did one more long treatment and was blown away with how clean it was my whole life I had never seen it so clean. I put some of the acid in a chemical resistant sprayer and sprayed the upper ring to remove the nastiness there and now its like a brand new toilet again. and flushes with far less water now since it has its efficiency back. muriatic acid is great the only worry would be making sure you flush enough times to get any residual acid out of your plumbing. and don't fill the bowel over its max line with the acid to ensure none make it out of the toilet before you flush and sit in your pipes.
Ooohhhh, where did you get your black faucet?
When I designed our bathroom renovation, I thoughtfully chose a concealed trap way toilet with a quick release lid to make toilet cleaning even easier. Highly recommend!!!!!
I only use two tissues and gloves, and I toss them when I'm done. I don’t keep toilet cleaning equipt. No handy dandy or dusters :(
I start cleaning with soap tissue from the top and work my way down then inside the toilet, then use another one to wipe and dry with paper towels, then throw them away with the gloves. I get the tissues at the dollar store; they come six in a pack. And I buy 100 gloves at Costco
do you wear a mask while using/spraying the strong cleaning products?
Thanks very informative.
What do you say to the other cleaning and disinfecting videos which say there are 3 separate steps:
1) Cleaning (Soap, Vinegar etc)
2) Rinsing
3) Disinfecting which makes everything.....
Sanitized
This video seems to combine the two cleaning and sanitizing together - which is sure to be better at cleaning and sanitizing than no cleaning or no sanitizing.
Also, can I ask what video and audio equipment you used or recommend? I'd like to do some cleaning videos in my home and in neighboring bars , coffee shops.
I'm good with an iPhone, but don't want to tie up all my memory on my personal IPhone.
I have a GoPro Camera that I haven't figured out how to use - I think that 's more for secret filming of Chicago thugs and abusive cops messing with regular folks (Like me)
I can set up a tripod and I purchased some lighting.
Do you have any video audio recommendations?
Thanks brother.

I do my place the bedrooms and living room then kitchen and bathroom last... I soak the bathroom while I do everything else then i sponge everything and mop up the floor last rince the mop filling up the bucket in the tub and dumping the water down the flush one last cleaning of the sponge and mop in bleach water i let it sit in the flush and outside to dry... If I get a spill between cleaning everything is ready to go... Once a year I'll do the CLR and put it in the tank when it's filling up and let it soak... When I go on vacation i clean everything and put purple power degreaser down the drains and let it soak so when I come back everything is fresh... CLR/ purple the washer and stop it come back the next day and finish the cycle... After a shower i let the water run while im getting dressed and clean out anything that gets down the trap...
Always free drains and nothing gets built up... If im boiling eggs ill put the water down the tub and if that's not OCD enough once a year i put the garden hose sprayer down the drains and blast everything down....
The inside of my plumbing is cleaner than most people dinner plates...
For an additional step.
Rain X everything after it's been done... RainX the fridge after a good cleaning... And if you're not going to be around or a rental that might be vacant... Go around the outside of the place with Biffen XTS bug killer... 😊
you're turning me on
I love my push button removable toilet seat. No more dismantling with a screwdriver.
I need those!
Saturday morning here and I’m watching how to clean a toilet 😅
WOW
What about self-tanner stains on the toilet seat? Any tricks for those? :)

What about the inside of the water tank?
I use cistern bleach blocks . Replace them a couple of times a month. Toilet bowl is always clean.
is that laminated flooring?
Yes LVP
@@CleanThatUpit’s beautiful
Also you can use some paper towel for drying the toilet .
How do you feel about adding cleaning vinegar to the water tank? I've heard this helps prevent mold growing on the inner-upper lip of the bowl.
it would be flushed and gone the first time
Have you ever had issues with those blue gels staining the bowl due to their dyes?
I have never had an issue with them. I will say through you don’t want them to sit for an extended period of time.
Thank you! I used to let them sit and I’m sure that was the issue
@@CleanThatUpdo you know how to get rid of a coin that is stuck to the bottom of the toilet bowl? There's a penny that won't budge and it has been there for a long time that the copper has gone and now the coin is silver.
What disinfectant do you use? Thanks
@@ellie9248
Perhaps a mother of small boys glued that penny there to give the boys something to aim at!
That was so therapeutic to watch I just went to clean my toilet….
If I had to dismantle toilet seat twice a week it would drive me nuts. I manage to clean my toilet perfectly anyway 😅
Man, sometimes I have to sit down to pee in the restroom to really put the "rest" in the room to catch a short seat break to sit down or see my phone a bit. Also, especially to let the air out down there at times lol (including your butt region), being in the undergarments throughout the day. Plus, I get to use toilet paper to wipe off extra dribbles after give a couple of squeezes.
If you're using just a mushroom head brush, you're not getting the underside of the toilet rim clean. If you don't believe me, grab a wad of toilet paper, wet it, and wipe the underside of that rim. You'll be disgusted.
They make flatish brushes that have maybe a 30° bend in them, supposedly to enable you to clean that underside. They don't work very well, or maybe they wear out quickly. My brush has a separate set of bristles that point back almost vertically upwards. It works well.
Me brushing my teeth with a 0° angle toothbrush 👀
@@rateryx your teeth don't have undersides for you to clean. Or at least mine don't. 😆
I use a pots and pans brush that has thick scrubbing bristles on one side. It's angled just right to get that gross underside 👍 just make sure to label it so it doesn't end up back in the kitchen sink 😂
