I hope it does what you said.
I purchased a 1 gallon Ryobi 18V sprayer. It has a 3 year warranty. It quit working in about 2 years. I took it to an authorized Ryobi service center. They first said 'we can't get parts from a company named Gardner MFG). Then they told me They needed the receipt from Home Depot.
I found where I registered it but that wasn't good enough.
    I just waisted $ 70.00+ dollars.

Would have liked to see a spray distance test with the pin stream tip for roof line and high window treatments.

The Ryobi 4 gallong sprayer was junk for me. I used it twice and then started having issues with the motor. I also didn't like the quality of the wand. I felt like it was getting developing a slight curve to it for the short time that I had it when it was secured to the holders on the side of the frame. Also, the plastic of the handle and wand made me question the longevity of it. The worst part was having so much liquid left in the container at the end of my spraying. I love all of my other Ryobi stuff but I returned the dud to HD. I'm upgrading to a flowzone for spraying my yard.

I have used this sprayer for meth lab remediation. I didn’t bother to look if these products are safe to use with this sprayer, but I make sure to thoroughly rinse after each use. I ran simple green, trisodium phosphate as well as mineral spirits through this sprayer with great success. Necessary tool for me to get meth contamination levels to non detectable.

Thank you. The flat nozzle seems it would be good for weed killer.
Open the new Ryobi out of the box. We were getting anxious about using it. Once hooked up there was a problem because it was leaking from underneath the battery. Steady heavy drops. Fortunately we were just trying water. I can’t imagine having some chemical leaking all over your backside. So, we will be taking back to Home Depot to return it and try another one hoping for better luck.

Thanks for the honest review. I’m a little disappointed in the fact that it’s a plastic wand. Was really hoping for stainless steal on that thing. Another thing that would have been nice would be a pressure adjust dial on the wand like a lot of the pro models that have a constant flow. However, with that being said, I’m probably still going to buy it next year when I switch from granule to liquid based pre emergents.
You should check out the pamphlet that comes with the new batteries and probably that sprayer. The one that has the different tools listed. You can get a sneak peek at the ones coming out. I saw a bug light and a power window vacuum! I don’t remember the PXXX but you can probably find it in that insert with the manual.

Awesome!!! Thanks for the video!!! I actually managed to pick one up last weekend. And used it to spray weeds. When the trigger was not pulled liquid would still leak out of the end of the wand. I called Ryobi and they are sending me a new wand set up. The customer service was very easy to work with. Thanks for the video again!!! I think this will be very helpful for others as well.

So a little update...I received the new wand within a couple weeks after talking to them. They sent extra gaskets as well. The new wand works great. I would prefer a harder plastic wand. When ever the trigger is squeezed it does pull back quite a bit. I agree as mentioned above that I wish the pressure was adjustable.
But overall, no ragrets. Not even one letter.

Great demonstration but was hoping to see how far it sprayed. Need it to spray my fruit trees some which are 15 to 20 ft high. The wall was about four feet away from where you were standing so the distance capability wasn't very apparent.

Good demo on the sprayer, I had one of the 1 gal sprayer, well, let me say I had four of them and none of them lasted more than a couple of month, so I'm not sure it's going into my Ryobi collection, but I'm not saying "NO" right now.

You can use the remaining liquid by placing a small container in the bottom of the pack and insetting the pickup tube into it. I’ve done that with other backpack sprayers with a pickup tub and it works fine, provided the seal on the hose is good where it connects to the pump. It may be possible to zip tie the pick up hose as well. Nice review though. I’ve never seen anyone put a pack on the way you did, lol. I just grab them over one shoulder and reach, lol.

  • @njneer7511

Ryobi did fix the pick-up tube issue by making it more rigid and formed to face down into bottom of the tank. I just bought one but will be returning it to HD. The flat fan nozzle is way too misty for insecticide/fungicide unless someone can suggest an aftermarket fix. Thanks for the review.

Folks I’ve tried this unit 2 times in order to give it the benefit of doubts. Why is that? Because after about 3 weeks of use on both machines that I have tried the unit quits to work. I loved how it worked in the beginning I was very careful with the care but the pump still gave out. I’m going to try it one more time and let’s see what happens.

I own a pest control company and last year I added mosquito treatment. While I waited for my gas powered sprayer/mister to be delivered I went to home depot and purchased this sprayer to use for mosquito control. It worked great, did the job but even on the lowest setting (output) it let out too much chemical. I eventually changed the wand and the tip. I now use this as a backup to my gas powered sprayer/mister. It's good for homeowners and light duty. For the price, well worth it!

Hey I use this backpack for pest service general and mosquitos so I use it everyday I'm having issues with my motor making a sound as if it's trying to suck in water even when full. I've had it for alittle less than a year now have you encountered this problem with yours by any chance?

@@MrAdrian2416 As a matter of fact I have but not when full. Usually when it ran down to about a 1/2 or sometimes 1/4 of the tank but just once in awhile. I would drain the tank and blast it with a water hose. Sometimes it would get clogged (I don't know why) and it would the trick. Still worth it as a back up. Hope this helps.

Can anyone help in what maybe it can be if anyone has had this issue?

There is no adjustment for power. It is all or nothing. So the danger of over spraying and killing wanted plants is imminent. After a short while the hose started to blow up like a sausage in the microwave and eventually it burst creating a corrosive mess all over the inside of my van. Other than that it works great. LOL
Most Ryobi tool are decent, but anything dealing with water is a no-go; backpack sprayer, hand held sprayer, pump all way too flawed.

    • @SolelyRyobi
      @SolelyRyobi  6 років тому +1

Ricky B it is okay. It’s a little easier to attach and detach while it is on the ground. Much easier to reach and detach if you have the pack on. But you have to be careful how loose or tight you have the lid or it will hit you in the head. Also it obviously does not store as nice.

Ron Dorzan that is unfortunate. We were concerned about the handle malfunctioning when we tested it. DavidH mentioned in the comments that he reached out to Ryobi directly and Ryobi sent him a new handle assembly. You might give that a try.

I work as a pest control Tech and I've used several different backpacks from the pump version as well as the battery operated one. This comes off very cheap. The battery door would certainly be broke within a week working with my guys. Its placement is horrible, very bad design. Also the trigger mechanism should look like a power washer style handle. Its a cheap $10 pump sprayer like handle. Just like those real cheap pump sprayers you buy from Lowe's and Home Depot. there's no way I'd waste my money on this and I am Ryobi guy. I have a bunch of their tools
