FYI , according to Ryobi the sprayer can deliver up to 90 psi. I just started using mine and am impressed. Also there is a removable strainer in bottom of tank on pump inlet. For the sprayer weighing close to 50 lbs. with 4 gallons it is easy to carry on your back.
Follow up. I upgraded the wand. Very happy. I followed John Ware's setup on the Lawn Forum. There is a post there and a youtube video titled "build a better sprayer wand".
@@mainj54 I think that is a completely legit point. If you are starting from scratch, buy a sprayer from Pete with his nozzles and you are done. Sourcing these parts is expensive via mail. A Northern Tool Trigger and Pete's kit 35 + 30 comes in at about the same. The only issue that I have with my sprayer is that it does not fully spray the contents when low unless you lean the sprayer. I wished that the interior of the tank was more tapered to allow all liquid to flow towards the pump pickup.
I watched UA-cam reviews on this sprayer, both by itself and in comparison to others in generally the same price range and this sprayer came out VERY well if not on top. I bought mine yesterday at HD and have not opened the box just yet. You, like some other reviewers mentioned the awkwardness of screwing the top cover back on. A commenter of 1 reviewer said he had that cover problem also and he sprayed silicone on the tanks threads as well as the covers threads and o-ring and it made the covers placement silky smooth. I will do that when I open my box soon. You try that and see how it works. I too have felt that Ryobi has improved greatly and continues to be building some pretty good equipment . Several years ago I was using the same sprayer for both vegetation killer and weed control and liquid fertilizers and was careless in not adequately flushing glycophosphate from the tank and hose and on my next use of it as a weed killer I did some pretty good damage in one area. I beat myself up over that and I now use a VERY clearly marked dedicated sprayer for spraying vegetation killers.Everything gets rinsed after use. Excellent video by the way.
I have had one for 2 years…pretty good. The hose developed a leak at the 2 year mark…a replacement hose assembly was 30-40. Relatively easy to replace. On off switch and dial is fine although the ‘click’ between off and on is pretty faint. Overall I have used extensively and would recommend, just try to avoid over bending the hose.
What’s up BYD Danny from CT I’ve used the older model and to be honest with you it was definitely a step upgrade from what I was using I had to manually pump but this year I invested in the flow zone . I definitely agree Ryobi has stepped up their game, but I think there’s a lot to be desired still. Did you catch the pump issues I had in my video? I wonder if you’ll get those long term.
Had no pump issue at all. I used it six times so far since I made this video. The good news is that 3 year warranty if you register it. If you are still having that issue I’d use the warranty and just get a new one ☝🏾 😀
I've had mine about a year and I have pump issues too. Mine does fine on the first four gallon fill up(I have a large lawn) but the second 4 gallon I put in it it don't want to work right until about halfway down.. It's like it's stuck on a very low PSI. I can't remember cause I haven't used it since nov but I think me changing before it ran all the way out solved that problem. But still annoying.
I bought one and the hose split right where it starts next to the metal ring clamp after two uses It might be a great sprayer soon as you swap out the hose and garbage wand but I wasn’t gonna give it a chance when it failed that quickly
@@fowlercarlos oh ok so you bought it like a year and a half ago? I went ahead and bought mine a couple hours ago I’ve gone through flowzones, Birchmier electric and Tomahawk (tomahawk electric is trash) Flowzone switches go bad Birchmier leaks and motor falls off rubber clips

Nice review .. I bought mine almost 2 years ago without a battery & was like 100$ I have a lot of Ryobi tools so I was good on the batteries. I use mine mostly for my apps of Prodamine .. ah yes the cap.. it will eventually break in and get easier. I love mine the only issue is where the left strap joins the tank on the back always rubs my shoulder and literally will rub my skin off... But overall a very solid performer well worth the money. Not having to pump it is easier plus I believe gives you a more even application. Keep up the great videos always enjoy them.

The stores in my area only offer the 18volt as of now also.
I would think twice before buying. I purchased 2 of them 2 years ago. The first one ran about two minutes. Ryobi customer service was useless but Home Depot allowed me to return it. The second one worked great for the season but worked about 5 minutes the second season. As a testament to their battery life I sprayed an entire season and only had to charge the battery once. I expected a longer life. Will never buy another Ryobi product.
Thanks for the video! The one thing I want to make certain of and may have just missed it. Does the tank fill with pressure to spray or does it just use a suction pump without pressure?
Very good presentation. I have the 2 gallon type for 2 years plus and it is great the only up grade would be the wand that has the ability to to put TeeJet tips and a 50 mesh that goes just prior to the tip, very easy to clean. TeeJet mfgs a lot of sprayer tips,I used them on my JD4630 sprayer with a 90 ft boom That could spray 400 acres a day the 8004 is a common TeeJet tip also EX
Yes Ryobi has stepped it up. They went from a 3 to 5. You didn’t point out any of the bad points to the sprayer which are many. Put a gallon of water into the sprayer and see what level it shows on the tank. Just just one of the cons.
I agree with you Don, with so many bad points I’d suggest you do a review also. Would love ❤️ to see your thought 💭 on camera also. But in my unpaid review, I’ll still give it a 9 now.
