Yeah, me again..apologies..I always come back to this fabulous clip and thanks for having it posted. For my two cents, this is the best in-color TV performance by any girl group during the entire 1960s. And of course, the performance was The Supremes'. ;)
I've wondered that too! I made custom Supremes dolls for a doll show in Detroit out of Shana, the black Jem Doll (slightly larger than Barbie) and they went over very well. I still have them displayed in the "stop" pose and adore them! So I'm a doll geek/Supremes fan who decided to combine the two, just so I could have supremes dolls! I would buy Supremes Barbies in a minute!
cindy is lovely but flo gave another character at the group...diana was the charismatic, mary the sexy and flo the sassy...without her somenthing was missing
THANK YOU JANE -- U R RIGHT ON it is missing Flo and they never WERE the same after they fired Flo -- as you can see today-- sure propaganda bull shit on some and yes their music was OK.. BUT not legendary???see any perform today--- cept''Ross.. but that is also because of FLO___.. thank your lucky stars even tho you were a ((back stabber))--since learning real truth -- I have no respect for you Ross as a person-- like some of your songs tho..
I just posted on another video how when the time came to put Flo out of the Supremes even Diana wasnt sure it was the right thing to do. She didnt think she could carry the group without Flo's strength and powerful voice and harmonies.
After Florence Ballard was ousted from the group, that group was never the same. When Cindy Birdsong came on board, she was to be seen and not heard. The same was applicable to Mary Wilson as well. Once Florence Ballard left the group Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong were like background dancers than singers.
@Motownman100 Mary was often off her mark, on the wrong foot or off time-wise by a beat. She was ALWAYS exaggggggggerating her moves to steal attention from Cindy - the pretty, new Supremes who moved so much better. ask Cindy about Mary THESE days - she's so mad at her for RTL and Motown 45 that even sweet Cindy is dissing Mary!
Best TV performance by the Supremes, strong vocals by all three and glamour, glamour, glamour.
Mary Wilson low harmony is Magnificent!
Cant take my eyes off of gorgeous Mary Wilson!!!
I play this song every day i just love it...
It will never get old❣️🥰❣️
Oh how I love this song! I never get tired of it! And it has a valuable message! There's a message in the music!
Diana is my favorite girl (obviously), but Mary looks divine back there! Flawless!!!!
Something tells me Mary and Cindy enjoyed singing, "That's why the lady is a tramp!" behind Diana ;-) Wonderful footage of the gals, thanks!
I love Mary's blonde wig. It looks great on her.
Diana was on top of her game at this point. So charismatic, polished, glamorous and CONFIDENT!! To think she was just twenty-something.
Glamorous Gowns. True performers. Where did Life go? Love ya Diana and the Supremes
i was eight years old when this show aired and i always thought even back then that this lady has the smoothest voice....love em always
Diana Ross and the Supremes: Very best.
my friends and I use to sing this over and over again! Motown all the way!
you couldnt get better than the supremes, they had it all x

Cindy Birdsong: the best hips in show business!
Black women are the most magical people on the planet.
true
Diana is singing her lil' a** off here!
Mary sounds and look a wonderful in this clip. The Supremes was superior!
Oh my mary was sooo cute
Diana Ross and The Supremes are just fabulous!
I've wondered that too!

I DON'T CARE WHAT NOBODY SAYS YOU JUST DON'T GET NO BETTER THAN DIANA ROSS. I'VE SEEN NOBODY DO IT LIKE HER.
This is great, seeing Ms. Ross in action! Thanks 4 posting!
Yes, it is, wonderful!
This is great! TY for posting all this. This IS the way it was.
You can find it on ebay. You can get this episode on DVD!

The sixties were a great time to grow up.

I was 15 yrs old at the time and I didn't miss Flo at all and neither did the public. This we love Flo thing started in the 80s

@snoops71 Mmm. Is that right? Interracial dating was DEFINITELY rare back in those times but I know her and Tom Jones were hot and heavy.
@soulsista1220 True, so did Steve McQueen..
@soulsista1220 Oh yes! With she and Steve, it was all fun and games, but she and Tom were in love. I think their relationship went on a few years.
He was married the whole time, but Mary never gets negative remarks. Everyone saves those for Diana.
When Diana sang she was tired of the same routine it reminded me of Paul McCartney and Wing's Just Another Day.
@DerrickSanchez Tom Jones thought so too
