Personally, this era of Fallujah brings back so many memories, seeing them on this tour was complete euphoria, they have changed they way I perceive music as a whole, Harvest Wombs still stands as my #1 album of all time, but TFP is still a masterpiece as well, long live Fallujah!
Yes! Been waiting for more of Andrew to come up. Do you guys have any other songs recorded? Love Fallujah with a passion and would love to see the drumming
Honestly, this guy and this band is one of the best ones around, so underrated, please someone create a Changeorg to request an endorsement for these musicians. Keep doing this Andy and all rest of Fallujah team, Beautiful music.
Unfortunately doesn't matter how amazing he is and even to some extent, what band he is in. Companies care mostly about your social media activity and reach, Santa you always able to plug the product. Someone like Alex Rudinger is very active on social media platforms and has a bunch of great endorsements. Andrew is such a fucking killer drummer. Saw then in Toronto and my mind was blown.
***** Since when is tech-death metal drumming 101? 101 would be your basic skank beats, single rolls, and run of the mill bass work. Not 240+ bpm, double stroke rolls, and almoat flawless double-strokes on the pedals too, but, you're right. I am sure that EVERY drummer you have ever met can do this simply because you're all Swedish .
***** Funny that you say they are not a tech-death band when they claim to be one themselves. Oh well, guess you know them better than themselves right?
On 3:52 he so obviously references both Meshuggahs "In Death - Is Life" as well as "Bleed" right afterwards. While the second pattern could just be taken as a herta without further associations, I think the fact that this nod of a groove to the opening beat of "In Death(..)" comes right before is a clear message. :D
Theres few things that sound as good as a tight-double bass pattern in 240bpm and up. Its just straight up boner material, and honestly, that his feet are that tight is amazing, and speaks highly of his heel-toe technique.
They didn't make it in Houston for summer slaughter, so I missed out on the only band I wanted to go see. I was pissed but glad I didn't waste any money on a show I wouldn't enjoy.
Are you fucking serious? Just WOW. I must admit I was sure you were using sampled "drum boosters".. but hey! You have living drum booster there. Absolute madness. \m/ \m/
Anyone know what kind of ride he uses? It sounds phenomenal, the closest thing it sounds like to me is a UFIP bionic series, but I don't think that's it
beautifully progressing more feel torwards the music ,unlike other bands that degress you guys keep progrogressing in a more emotional (not in the pussy sense)way)big ups hope to play with you guys soon,i live in phx az along the same skill level of drumming if u guys no people in phonix with talent looking to be connected to a 30 year old 20 year vet (dedicated please hit me back,i know u guys have connects, you will be happy you did thanks!
Gotta love the guy, he hardly shows repetition, and you don't see much of any drummers go straight from blasts to double. Hopefully carved from stone makes its way to the vids too
That dude (insert name here) from Aversions Crown would be interesting to see. I haven't seen any live stuff with him but the drumming on their album is the fucking tits.
probably really bad, because no one can play that stuff without any triggers and be audible in that situation. Too much sound coming from all the other stuff for the kicks to punch through, they probably though both trigger & mic them for the best possible sound.
He uses the EKit triggers. A lot of the guys in this genre do. On summer slaugher canada. Only Alex Rudinger and Aaron from (Rings of Saturn) used triggers that were on the Kick Drum. Everyone elses were pedal mounted.
+howycwap Yep. That and the individual notes would be harder for the listener to distinguish. Although it may not be a that big a deal with good mic placement/kick drum tuning.
March 2024 and still wowed by this video and this performance. This era of Fallujah ended up being a classic.
I don't care about the speed in 30 years I've never heard death metal that helps me sleep!!!! this is transcendant dudes!
Agreed
Must be boring death metal
Andrew kills live, one of the best performances I have ever seen.
This video & live last summer
his feet work is just outstanding, the use of cymbals and the sound of the snare, damn...very creative, clean technique...
I've watched this video at least 100 times.
+Ryan Bertone Me too! one of the best SDM video's on youtube for sure
Ryan Bertone 50 times now and going to 100 soon!!!! \m/

I love this If there's a drum cam of carved from stone please upload
This is possibly the best metal drumming ive ever heard, holy mother of jaysus!!
That drum fill at 1:10 is sooooo freakin gorgeous
Matthew Sanchez my favorite part 🥁
Man I love his cymbal work. Found out about this band last week, stoked to see him being featured. The drumming amazed me big time.
One of my favourite SDM videos I think. Great angles, great mix and great talent!
I am not a huge fan of double strokes on the feet but his doubles sound like singles ! Really tight ! You rock Andrew !
Andrew is the man! He plays with so much power and it's so damn clean. It's a pleasure to watch this dude play.
I used to watch this video every day for 3 months straight. Andrew is one of the best.
Fallujah and Andrew Baird smack straight bang in my radar. No over the top kit, super tight, fast, and groovy shit. bravo
Absolute masterpiece
I saw them last night and it was absolute perfect! amazing drummer!
I always cream my pants from 3:52...that double bass drum and cymbal work towards the end is so funky, so crisp... makes me wanna dance!
damn 5:59 without spitting any of that chew out
Insane heel-toe technique... Currently, one of my favourite drum tracks to listen to.
This is astounding!!

Still in awe in 10/23/2020

oh man, I just love this guy sooo much !!! More of Andrew (and Blake from Vektor) please !!!
Yes! Been waiting for more of Andrew to come up. Do you guys have any other songs recorded? Love Fallujah with a passion and would love to see the drumming
They've got a few videos of him!
That's why i said 'more' haha, there's nothing on here from the new album except this.
Holy shit, so fucking clean.
This guy has been on the map for a while now.
Get his man some high end gear... Where is Pearl/Tama/Mapex or Meinl/Paiste/etc?
Yes. Please. This guy is too damn good to be confined to low end sabians
Honestly, this guy and this band is one of the best ones around, so underrated, please someone create a Changeorg to request an endorsement for these musicians. Keep doing this Andy and all rest of Fallujah team, Beautiful music.

so f****n' crazyyyyyyy.... amazing dude....
Nice! It's always nice to see a metal player using some finesse in his playing...
I think I notice him using heel-toe. Great drumming actually, real creative. Much better than a lot of the drummers on this page
Jesus.......his double stroke work on the kicks is just incredibly clean and even. Jerk! haha
Behold the future in death metal music. Insane.
Buy us $9 beers! Have a good night. Sick \m/
it does not get any better than this.
His live drums sound better than they do on the album.
That snare sounds like a garbage can.
UnleashTheBlob An EVIL garbage can though
UnleashTheBlob you've never heard of the vital remains snare...
Beautiful music
now this is some serious shit. not some luke holland bs...
You sound like an idiot.
***** I hope you're joking
***** Hahahahah

really sick!
wow so sick drummer!

damn. I enjoyed this one.
Amaizing! Andrew is a monster!
What a cool heel-toe style ^^ never seen that way before ^^
so sick!

Very tight!

No, no they can't
Non ho parole
Damn he's a God.
Unreal

I fucking love fallujah!
Are you fucking serious? Just WOW. I must admit I was sure you were using sampled "drum boosters".. but hey! You have living drum booster there. Absolute madness. \m/ \m/
Dat snare doe.
My fucking drum IDOL
Anyone know what kind of ride he uses? It sounds phenomenal, the closest thing it sounds like to me is a UFIP bionic series, but I don't think that's it
Wow, Andrew Baird is fucking Monster
Sick
Drummer Utopia
Yeah this dudes feet are incredible. Love everything besides the sound of his toms... amazing though
Cool Playing, cool song. Just the snare sounds a little bit to loose.
The 7 dislikes obviously came from those who don't know shit about drumming.
wow
wooow :O
Ah. So it's not just as the show I went to where the lead vocalist's mic is not leveled well.
Who's Pearl kit is that on the riser behind him?
trey from dying fetus

If that's an Iron Man shirt that he's wearing, well, that's a very apt designation
Today on: Betcha can't play this.........
Gotta love the guy, he hardly shows repetition, and you don't see much of any drummers go straight from blasts to double. Hopefully carved from stone makes its way to the vids too
Cleaner than Lysol
That dude (insert name here) from Aversions Crown would be interesting to see. I haven't seen any live stuff with him but the drumming on their album is the fucking tits.
2:09 - 2:12
Sad to see (read) what jealousy does to some of us.
Honestly can't stand most of the footwork that core drummers do, but this guy is very tasteful.
How would the sound differ with heel-toe technique without triggers?
depends on the mics ofc.
But it wouldn't definitely be as clear.
the second hit is generally slightly weaker than the first, but depending on how proficient you are witht he technique, it may not be as noticeable

Oh yeah by the way, he's slaying those drums all while he has testicular cancer. (he slayed as well) Obviously he's superhuman... \\m//
his feet are doing like 960 all together consistently lol
thats what my hands average at smh @ me
damn, and I wanted for my pants go be dry...
Great drummer, great technique but shorts, a t shirt and a woolly hat?! Or is it like a Gregory Porter thing?
Mother of triggers!!!
+PepoPick Triggers it's just for sound, it doesn't give you any speed or talent.
He's really using that heel toe as a crutch
IDK but maybe the mics, or the sound he wanted for this song..... the snare sounds like a garbage can lid to me.
double strooke pedals
He said " double stroke pedals"
It's not the pedals. It's his technique. So no, he is not correct.
MarsHolst20 Andrew Baird is absolutely amazing and hope you enjoyed the video as much as I did! :D
