So many guys on this channel don't deserve to be labeled sick drummers, they're fast but that's about it, Alex Rudinger always brings it, he's a fucking hero
1sheldon haha goddamit yeah I am. Oh well, wanted to see The Contortionist from the day I first heard Exoplanet in 2010. Tonight is that night so I'm good
Alex Rudinger, dude I can't praise you enough. Me and my 7 year old daughter love watching you play, so much that she wants to learn to be a drummer like you. Conquering Dystopia was an epic album, and showed your versatility and technical abilities as a musician. Can't wait til you finally make your way to Australia so we can hear you live. Keep the fire alive bro
It's a four hour drive to Tempe, AZ but I'm gonna do everything possible to see this beast behind the kit this years Summer Slaughter. I was really looking forward to seeing After The Burial again.. R.I.P. Mr. Justin Lowe, no matter what the truth is you'll always be in our ears and our hearts.
All of the drummers from the Faceless have been phenomenal. Beginning with the one before Lyles Cooper. But I miss Rüdy and Evan Brewer and WesHauch. I was a fan of both Evan and Rudyard before they joined which is why it was so exciting when they did. Wes is in Black Crown Initiate though now so I guess that's a pretty good fit
He hits softer than Lyle, can´t see how that´s "more powerful" and he also rushed and dragged... +2 for the open handed style and for improvising a little without affecting the song structure.
Estevan Lerma yeah, lyles technique is amazing. people dont think he hits hard because he doesn't look like hes hitting hard, but he gets alot of volume out of the drums even at very fast tempos. almost every live song ive seen alex play hes jumped time. people just dont notice it but its literally the most important part of being a drummer. honestly alex is average imo, i think hes just got everyone tricked with his open handed playing, which isnt hard, drummers just dont do it because theres no point. if your gonna inject showmanship into your performance at least do tricks, at least they look cool.
TheRadrussian1 I agree in most things you said, except that Alex is average... I admire his ambidextrous way of playing, and I would say that if he is average then 90% of the drummers suck hahaha
Estevan Lerma average if your judging him by other professional drummers. hes def not average compared to all drummers. you could say hes in the like 10% of really really good drummers, and hes average among them. not an actual figure but you get my point. alex is great technically but i dont feel like he has a thing. his style is lame to me. he makes drumming look hard. he always looks like he struggling for some reason.
I like how this guy is always smiling during his performance, especially when blasting the shit out of that snare ^^ seems like he's having a whole lot of fun - just how it should be!
lmao at these guys calling someone like Alex an average drummer. Are you guys high? What kind of super hero drummers are YOU guys playing with to call a guy performing on these levels all of the damn time "average"? Jesus Christ.
fantastic sound, alex playing spot on, but I never noticed that the bass drum is actually so tiny, it looks even smaller than a 20'' Another thing about the footcam: I appreciate the effort that you even put a footcam into the videos, but please, when you do, have the footcam on for either the whole song or interesting foot patterns and not random in between, k ?
Don't get me wrong, I love Alex. I love his drumming but when I watch his videos, sometimes I playfully think "just fuck up a little!" so soothe my busted ego! lmao #notsrs
Alex Rüdinger what is the cymbal setup you're using in the video? I notice the crashes are byzance, brilliant finish? They sound sick! Also, what are the sizes?
I can tell they are getting into a style the Planetary Duality die-hards arent going to like. I fucking love all their albums. But their next album is going to be even more proggy-fusion esque i feel. Which in my opinion i prefer, as akeldama is my favorite song by them. But i can understand fans not liking the new style. All sounds good to me though!
Don't know if you are still searching for an answer, but: NO. He switched to Tama Drums, using a Tama Kit and some Speed Cobras. The next pedals I will get. :)
Jm Herradura no, this tour happened when he had just switched to Tama, after this he played speed cobras until like 1-2 years ago when he went to Trick
I'm only assuming its because he scored this deal before summer slaughter and is using the pearls because he's used them so long plus the pearls are direct drives and the speed cobras he said he will be switching to are chain drives and long board pedals. Thats just my assumption. But i believe we can all agree on is regardless of what brand Alex plays, he is flawless and one of the best drummers around.
Too bad their going to have to try and find another bad ass on the drums. It doesn't get much better than Alex, lots of power and its hard to find this with speed. Whatever band could keep him longer than a couple of years would be lucky.
So many guys on this channel don't deserve to be labeled sick drummers, they're fast but that's about it, Alex Rudinger always brings it, he's a fucking hero
***** Took you a year to come up with that, oh my🙈
Yep, Alex kills it.
How to blast without being boring. So much power! Can't wait to see them live with Alex this year in Europe.
you must be pretty disappointed lol
1sheldon haha goddamit yeah I am. Oh well, wanted to see The Contortionist from the day I first heard Exoplanet in 2010. Tonight is that night so I'm good
Jordy R they kill it with flourish
1sheldon They did! What a set. Language part I and II where amazing to experience live.
Jordy R i saw them with periphery couple weeks ago
The live show sounding as tight as ever.. Nice \m/
Fucking love watching Alex play. His UA-cam channel is amazing.
I think Alex is probably the best current drummer, is so much talent for only one person! This guy is from another world.
Talent is overrated, hard work makes a master.
Drum machine Rudinger! One of the best in the business! And no "tippy tapper". The dude is destructive!
the best drummer they have ever had
One of the best drummers right there. Also one of the highest quality live drum videos I've seen. Love watching this guy play!
This is easily the best snare sound I've heard from you so far. God damnnn
FINALLLYYY!! Alex's drumming is the epitome of this fucking channel!
Open-handed like a BOSS...
Nnooooooooo!!!!!
That's dirty bro. But thanks for the heads up.
BEST DRUMMER IN THIS GENRE
Check out Lyle Cooper, the composer of this song, not better but also great.
Estevan Lerma jamie st merat .....
Watched every single Alex Rudinger video & he is no different live, fucking flawless mate.
His style is so great, and those drum tones! Amazing
Pretty drum shots. That foot cam is just amazing.
His footwork is so clean, it blows me away
Best extreme metal drummer in my opinion.
So sad I never gotta seen them live with Alex and Evan but I at least saw them during the first lineup which was amazing.
Alex wearing a hoodie! Probably thought, "I might as well break a sweat while I'm at it." haha. Excellent performance, excellent band, superb drummer!
Unbelievably clean. His technique is sharp. Thanks for being such an inspiration for a tit ton of drummers. Fucking amazing
IT IS FUCKING ABSURD HOW GOOD THIS GUY IS
duuude he's so good! never saw a video with him in it that I didn't like
awesome playing and the snare sound its fucking great
this is so nice to see a drummer so happy to fight his drum :D
Oh come one - miss one note ! what a beast ! and he looks like he's having so much fun too !
This guy is fucking amazing
music is eh though
while i watched this, i kept shaking my head and saying "my god, he's amazing"
Drums sounds better than on the album
Wtf are you talking about? Clearly dont know shit lmfao
Even, controlled, double kicking. Flawless at ludicrous speeds.
All of the drummers from the Faceless have been phenomenal. Beginning with the one before Lyles Cooper. But I miss Rüdy and Evan Brewer and WesHauch. I was a fan of both Evan and Rudyard before they joined which is why it was so exciting when they did. Wes is in Black Crown Initiate though now so I guess that's a pretty good fit
way more powerfull and in time than the previous drummer ! +1 for the open handed style !
what? how is he more in time? he rushed and dragged like three or four times. and i dont get how since hes got a click playin in his monitors.
He hits softer than Lyle, can´t see how that´s "more powerful" and he also rushed and dragged... +2 for the open handed style and for improvising a little without affecting the song structure.
Estevan Lerma yeah, lyles technique is amazing. people dont think he hits hard because he doesn't look like hes hitting hard, but he gets alot of volume out of the drums even at very fast tempos.

stellar performance. such an impossible song, holy shit
I like how this guy is always smiling during his performance, especially when blasting the shit out of that snare ^^
seems like he's having a whole lot of fun - just how it should be!
AMAZING ! Is he human ? I can't stop watching like this O_O !!!!
lmao at these guys calling someone like Alex an average drummer. Are you guys high? What kind of super hero drummers are YOU guys playing with to call a guy performing on these levels all of the damn time "average"? Jesus Christ.
I think it's because he makes it look so easy. lol
I guess you cannot play this song any better than this!
Alex es un maldita maquina en la batería!
Rüdinger is simply awesome.
I miss him playing with The Faceless.
Great endurance and groove
Im pretty sure this was at the house of blues in hollywood, and if soo, I was there and it was a great performance for seing them for the first time.
Nah this was in San Francisco.
I would definitely like to see Ancient Covenant/ or Planetary Duality drum cam footy of these guy.
homie is a machine
nice job
Ive never heard of the Faceless..but their drummer is good.
The Maryland beast on stage!
Give us a good taste of the result of HARD work ! hands down !
Yess, Rudinger is the best.
Brutal!
The man!!!!!!!
fantastic sound, alex playing spot on, but I never noticed that the bass drum is actually so tiny, it looks even smaller than a 20'' Another thing about the footcam: I appreciate the effort that you even put a footcam into the videos, but please, when you do, have the footcam on for either the whole song or interesting foot patterns and not random in between, k ?
Nah. They will choose the segments at their own leisure, k?
When I first saw it, I thought it was a Roland mesh. I was like why is he using that? haha.
It's a 20. he said it was when he got his Tama kit. because he triggers for The Faceless, he chose a 20"
I've got an 18" myself, it's perfect for triggers and the easiest thing to transport ever.
InfiniteTruthStudios Basically a floor tom haha. You should do something crazy and trigger a suitcase or something!
Netxt Level Drumming!
A BEASTMASTER
Strutter? Nope, let's play all with a smile. What a beast
Struggle dammit*
TRIGGERS DO NOT ENHANCE PERFORMANCE!
Happy drummer is happy
alex is a monster
I think that the trick are those shoes...... Damn i got those shoes and nothing changed hahhhaa
His beaters are set so high. I bet he could go even faster on those pedals if they were adjusted to the center, but hot damn haha
Don't get me wrong, I love Alex. I love his drumming but when I watch his videos, sometimes I playfully think "just fuck up a little!" so soothe my busted ego! lmao #notsrs
accurate!
i know in this kind of tours you have to bring all your drum kit, but do you also need to bring all the mics for it?
That snare....
I feel ashamed that I can only recall the chorus in my head
That's fine. Its one of the more lame tracks The Faceless has done anyway. Lol
Actually now i've listened to it again and I called most of the song, it's a pretty badass song
Alex Rüdinger what is the cymbal setup you're using in the video? I notice the crashes are byzance, brilliant finish? They sound sick! Also, what are the sizes?
Does he have either a really small bass drum or really long bass pedal beaters? They seem to hit very high up on the bass drum.
Can't believe he's wearing a sweatshirt.
can't determine if he's right or left handed :D
Fuckyeah!!!!!!!
xxx drum
That fucking sexy ass snare.
fucking wow
I could never play with a hoody on like that. Respect to the man. I bet he's sweltering.
Lyle Cooper killed it with this band and got out just in time. This dude is good though!
Alex is super tight, I kinda miss the Lyle style though
Check out his band Absvrdist!
Now that he switched to Tama, can anyone tell if he's still using the Demon Drive though?
Don't know if you are still searching for an answer, but: NO. He switched to Tama Drums, using a Tama Kit and some Speed Cobras. The next pedals I will get. :)
Yeah but it seemed a really short time to get adapted to speed cobras before the tour thats why i meant haha
I knew he wouldnt leave his DD pedals
No, actually he's planning to switch. Said it himself on Facebook
He has left them now, speed cobra video on his instagram woo
Aaaand he went back to Direct Drive lol
Trick
Jm Herradura no, this tour happened when he had just switched to Tama, after this he played speed cobras until like 1-2 years ago when he went to Trick
2:18, fast left hand.
it's not 1 hand. He has 2 rides, one on the left hand and one on the right hand. So in this part he plays both rides, with both hands.
I see it now. Thank you.
his bass drum could double as his snare drum
He is still using demon drives...
Lyle Cooper is good really good too but Alex is a techniquel beast!
I see a tama speed cobra hi hat, pearl won't be happy =p great drumming though
He just switched from pearl to tama
Oh really? I didn't hear that, thanks for the info
Casey Snyder But he still uses his demonator :/
I'm only assuming its because he scored this deal before summer slaughter and is using the pearls because he's used them so long plus the pearls are direct drives and the speed cobras he said he will be switching to are chain drives and long board pedals. Thats just my assumption. But i believe we can all agree on is regardless of what brand Alex plays, he is flawless and one of the best drummers around.
Also, who's playing guitar besides Keene??
Sometimes, we can hear the "clic"
0:14 rip that dudes ears lol
Perfection right there! I wonder how much he use triggers tho... It seems like he hits pretty hard anyway, anyone know?
watch his channel
I do
***** yep he is awesome indeed
Only triggers base drum everything else is mics
alex is a god he never cheats . triggers dont give u speed just sound
Lyle Cooper Rules lml
Take that damn hoodie off. I'm sweatin just watching this
alex is a beast, lyle plays it way better, and he should since he wrote the thing...
Drums sound flawless. The band sounds amazing. Michael's clean vocals have prevented me from enjoying The Faceless anymore.
I really hope you took this back...His cleans put an incredible original stamp on their already unique AND original style
there are 2 drum sets.. why???
The next band dude... Have you ever been to a concert?
Aggravattion would make sense for any of the other bands, but the Faceless are the headliners of summer slaughter.... there isn't a next band...
Bretton M oh wait, it was a different lineup in the states, nevermind
i like dicks
waaat?!@!@#$!
Amazing drummer. But I can not get over the anemic trigger sound for that bass drum.
2:35 dafuq is the singer doing
Too bad their going to have to try and find another bad ass on the drums. It doesn't get much better than Alex, lots of power and its hard to find this with speed. Whatever band could keep him longer than a couple of years would be lucky.
MIke Fecht Lol chason westmoreland is a beast too
I hate the sound of his triggers so much.
Not that tight to be a machine
Sorry, bro, not good as Cody McCoy from Boreworm haha...
Why the harsh words?
+Casey Wassensar lol codys blasts are so weak & so are his fills. Cody is a good drummer but def not as good as Alex.
