Depends on your needs. The Edge didn't change much from 2016 to 2017 so you're not missing out on any major technology upgrades or upgrades to the look. The 2017 3.5L will have more power but worse gas mileage. I believe it gets 17/24 mpg city/highway where the 2.0L 2016 gets 21/29 city/highway. That's almost 100 miles more you can drive on the same tank of gas. The 2016 has less miles on it which is favorable. So if you need more power for something like towing, get the 2017. But if you don't need power, get the 2016 and save dat money!
Update: I was side swiped by an idiot December 5th 2023, I did get whip lash but my gosh the ford edge took the hit. The other drive was at fault and I'm so glad I got the forde edge. Also no issues what so ever besides the screen going black twice but other then that I love the fordge edge.

I am looking to buy a used ford egde. I have 2 options. Should i buy a ford 2017 3.5L (mileage 81000 km) or a ford 2016 2.0L (mileage 70000 km)

I just got one today for $16K with 84k miles and I felt more safer then other midsized/compact suvs that I test drove.
