It’s January 2023 and we just bought a 2018 Edge sport with 50K miles for 26K. It’s a very capable suv that drives great, has all the power you wish every other econobox had while being wide enough to give you enough elbow room. My biggest grip is the outdated dash/center console. Something like the Toyota RAV4 has so much more storage and an instrument cluster that’s laid out a lot better. For that being a smaller vehicle the edge should have more room to do a better job on the layout. Bonus is the awd system is super fast to kick in whenever the car thinks you need it. Making it fun and capable to drive in our Minnesota winters.
We just purchased a 2016 white platinum sport with 28k miles for 23k. Absolutely love this vehicle. I drive a 2019 Rav 4 for work and the ride quality in the Edge is far superior.

Can u revisit this car for 2017-2018 to see if Ford made the improvments you suggested. I like this car but without current safety software/hardware and driver's assist it's not appealing to behind.
@cargurus, you are on point with the brakes. I have the Sport with 21" wheels (not the summer tires though). The performance is what made me lease this vehicle. :) The overall package was very enticing - the interior space (I am 6', 270lbs), steering feel, responsiveness were all what I was looking for. The pano roof was the icing on the top. :D
Have you look at tuning? The Livernois 93 tune adds over +100 HP and +100 TQ... I did a triple take on the numbers and 0-60 acceleration... either that motor stock is undertuned to hell or that tune is going to melt it... it doesn't seem that crazy given what it can do in the F150 and the MKX though, so I tend to think it makes sense... also that trans does quite a bit in the other platforms and can take quite a bit more power. That's actually what keeps me interested in this car, stock performance is 'meh', but tuned is unbelievable...
It is a really good car, I like the looks, engine is powerful but only problem with my edge is the panoramic sunroof, it does not close when I open it and I have seen this problem in other cars too.. Ford should fix this issue. Otherwise the car is really nice.
It is over-priced, it's in Lux brand territory for roughly similar performance. But if they don't sell the discounts will be there if you time it right.

A CR-V will run you close to $45k nowadays (with all the options), but this is not in that category. it's bigger, has more options, and it's much faster. My good friend has an SQ5, which cost him $25k more than my Edge Sport. In my opinion, he's driving a luxury sports truck, and I'm driving a sports truck. I've driven it, and I was impressed by the smoothness of the ride, but I wasn't impressed by the power and handling in comparison to my Edge. $25k for a luxury badge and a smoother ride..... No thanks. I had. 2013 Edge Sport, and just traded it in for a 2016. I don't regret it at all. No problems with either. And when you punch the accelerator on that 2.7l Ecoboost, you get pushed back in your seat. In my opinion, well worth $50k...

At any rate, a 2017 Honda CRV Touring at the moment is 40k (new), and a 2017 Edge Sport is 43k (new). In my opinion, the Edge Sport is a much better deal. Furthermore, there really isn't anything on the market that offers the same amount of features at the same price point.
He mentioned that the Ford does not fall apart. I have a 2015 Edge and it does fall apart. Got it about a year ago and had many problems. Audi had won many accolades recently for quality and reliability. Plus the Q5 is due for makeover and new one with the new corporate interior no comparison to the Edge,
Most of the time, the camera is looking at you. It would be good to edit the video, keeping the narration, while the video continues to show the car, not you. Just a suggestion.
Buying the EDGE was mistake I purchased my new EDGE in Feb. 2017 from FORD MOTORS. Until now the car already repaired 7 times under the warranty and still car problems not finished. Transmission + navigation + computer + suspension + AC + engine unusual vibration … etc. Spare parts and maintenance are expensive compared with car quality. this car doesn’t worth the money I paid for. Its bad experience for me with ford. I don’t care about the money I paid for this trivial car but for sure my next new vehicle will not be FORD
why buy this over a subaru outback which just as big though not as SUVy.. I dont get these suvs, they aren't bringing anything to the table. hell the cx-5 is nicer inside than this.

For reference I buy brand name 305/30/19 size tires with regularity and never have paid near 400 for a tire. I hate when un informed “car guys” make statements. These are the type of guys that like to spit out manual information whenever they get into conversations with real auto enthusiasts.

I have a 2016 and love it. The brakes work just fine. Definitely best Cuv in its class.
We just got a 16 key fob won't start the vehicle now only push button works now. Engine light is on. Only had it for two days

Do you notice the braking discomfort or fade as much as Chris mentioned?

If you're worried about tire replacement costs maybe you need to get the base model, or buy used.

There's no wow factor with this car. Exterior specifically. Ford interiors are finally becoming tolerable, IMO. Not worth $50K.
