I'm in Australia and if police are called to a dv incident the charges can't be dropped. I think it's a good thing because a victim can drop charges because they are in fear so that option shouldn't be available.
Does that leave dv charges open to being abused? If a partner claims dv and it is a false claim and cannot be dropped, does it stick to the accused forever? Here in Scotland, if a person makes a dv claim and tries to drop it , it then goes to first responders to agree they witnessed no injuries (violent situation) and it can be dropped but it cannot be dropped by the accuser in the case injuries were recorded or treatment given for injuries on the day the incident took place. Not allowing charges to be dropped sounds like a way to trap accused in the event the claim is made with malice.

I was 17 years old, when I married a guy from Texas. We were married two and a half. But it seemed like a lifetime. I was kept captive for the whole time. I wasn't allowed to wear certain clothes. I wasn't allowed to go anywhere without supervision. I wasn't allowed to makeup. In the beatings, were like part of the day. He would rape me, after he had been out with other women. And I didn't say the two years because I wanted to. It's because I didn't have no other choice. And I ended up calling my mother, at 11:00 night. And I told her I was ready. So she makes the long trip to Texas. She doesn't get there until 4:00 in the morning. My husband comes in from being out all night at the strip. He walks and he has a Coke and candy bar. He hands me one of each. And he says I heard you're leaving me. And yes, I could have sunk back into that fear. But I didn't I stood up for myself. He looks around me, and he says I should just slap the f*** out of you. And I told him go ahead my mother is on her here. And for some reason, that stopped him from hitting me. I left at night and never looked back. But these kinds of situations are not easy to get out of. It takes planning & time. Because every beaten, I got. And I really don't know, how I survived. Oh I know I've heard people say, well I would have just left. No they wouldn't because they're not in that situation. So they don't know what they do. Ana, I love it when you host this podcast. You are just as stunned sometimes with the choices people make , as I am. It’s like chatting to a friend over a scandalous case.
I think, in the first case of the moron defense attorney, the guy she got to plant drugs (I believe you said he was charged with trafficking) wasn't concerned about getting caught planting drugs. Let's be real he was already caught not to mention he if he was caught he could just turn states evidence, his concern was the amount of money he was losing if he planted real drugs. In order to make this family appear to be involved in selling drugs he would have to plant more than just a little bit of meth. A couple of points on the second case. First it is not unusual for a killer to play innocent and be loving towards the family. In most cases they are narcissists and crave the attention that they are getting, not to mention the fact that they get to see the murder site, dump site and the expressions on everyone's face when it is found out what happened to their loved one. The killer gets to relive everything they did to the victim every minute, hour and day that the investigation drags on. The second point is there is no rule that states the police have to wait any length of time before investigating a missing persons case. Granted it does take resources to go out and do a search/investigation on a missing person and those resources are wasted if it turns out that the missing person just wanted a "ME" day and decided to go to the mall or lake or something like that. But most police are not inept enough to pick up on the clues that the loved one are giving out such as the fear in their eyes on even in the tone of their voice. And let's be honest how much of a resource does it take to send one patrol officer out to take a statement and maybe take a look around? Get out there and ask questions at their school or work, family and friends. One officer taken away from sitting on the side of the road is not going to make that big of a dent in your precious resources. Well that is my opinion anyway. I could go on and point out so much more in both cases but, well, I thought I would allow someone else to use the soap box for a bit.
Would it kill you to first realize that no one is even a "criminal" yet? Lol Charges have been filed but no convictions yet. Oops lol. And that's how unprovoked crankyness can backfire on you.

Women that stay with abusers are stereotyped as weak-minded, crazy, addicted and just not strong enough. Me: like #BryanKohberger ? Lol😂
Triple murder or DV assault?
Both can be true at the same time.
It’s strange how much the ex girlfriend and the lawyer girlfriend look alike on the first story
Human behavior 😭😱😈
Brooo.... Who does that?!? Who on earth dates the guy on trial for DV, nevermind kill for him?!? Wow...😮
Why was Keegan not disbarred for assaulting a cop?!? wtf
Why blame police 4 dropping charges
Chocolate poptart or none 😅😅
This got to be a Tyler Perry script , can’t make this shit up 😂
My first thought was thought was that she was buried with something if value, but it's just a sad story all around
They breathe and eat off of each other. But one can't think of, the other one will.
Evil plus evil combustible 👿👿👿👿👿👿
How were the three tortured before they died?
*Here comes the im 1st & 2nd adult-childern crap in the comments* 😒
Lol what's it like to be in a perpetual state of cranky?

Yep daily!!
I live in Oklahoma.
Omg that second story!!! You could’ve fled and hid yet you go right back around them to rub salt into the wound 😢
Judy has the patience of Alligator skin. Anna please be kind.
It’s a shame her family had to turn detectives. I’m sure if they didn’t break into t(e car he would have moved the car and move or dismembered her and probably her body would never have been found. Thank God her family was persistent. I am sorry for your loss and the losses of the first family members in the first story
If 3 people had not lost their lives , the first case would be hilarious. They both are so ignorant, it’s unbelievable. How did this woman pass the bar exam??!!!
My sympathy to the family and friends of the victims. May they rest in peace.
