why didn't you mention that jodi and ruby are mormon? mormonism plays an important role here. the leaders actively recommended jode's services, knowing full well what kind of a therapist she was. they stood by her even when she had her license put on probation for 18 months back in 2012.

Ruby has actually confronted people via videos saying that she is not gonna change. Now all of a sudden it's Jodi's fault? Nope. Not buying it. If anything, Ruby finally found another person who had the same belief in severe punishment as she had. Basically Jodi and Ruby were partners in crime. Kevin is also at fault. He just up and left his kids. Abandoned them and neglected them. He is also blaming Jodi. Dude, those are your kids. He claims he didn't know what was going on but plausible deniability does not fly in this situation. They are Kevin's kids and no real father would abandon his children and leave them in an environment like that. Also, no intelligent human being would believe that their absence from their family would improve a relationship.

It’s wild that we still don’t grasp the fact that people willing to exploit their kids for monetary gain on social media are likely to abuse them in other ways, too. I’m floored by the fact that so many people watch these kind of people without a second thought as to the fact that they are usually making most of their income off filming or vlogging about their kids. It’s gross. It’s not shocking that parents like that are often abusing their kids, considering they’re already willing to lump the stress of what is basically a job on children.
True but a lot of people who watch these watch because they become emotionally invested in the children. That's part of why even when Ruby's behavior on UA-cam was questionable people still watched,even the people who were upset by her parenting. Almost like you keep watching to keep tabs and make sure the kids are OK. Because people where worried a lot of people kept copies of videos and documented things "just in case." In trying to help though, it also encourages more videos.
The prosecution WANTS a plea deal usually for child abuse cases because they don't want to make the child/children testify in court. It's pretty terrifying and traumatic for kids, so they try their hardest to go for a plea. Personally, I'm not sure saving kids from more trauma is really worth the lenient sentences, especially for reoffenders

Went through some very similar situations. I dealt with physical and mental abuse from as young as I can remember up until I ran away at 18. The woman who was in charge of most of the abuse worked as a child therapist. Still does to this day. Never had to face consequences for her actions despite me speaking up as a child many times during the abuse. I never had the opportunity to do so as an adult as I've been too busy trying to get my life together after knowing nothing but abuse and disfunction.
Ruby's sisters are only a fraction of a percent better than her. They grew up under similar circumstances and raise their children quite the same as Ruby. I have seen deep dives on other channels go into her sisters!

I sincerely hope that RF never gets to be with her children until they are adults and make the decision to be in her presence again. Until, they can equally fight back against her just in case she happens to get brainwashed again, since it seems to be so easy for her to succumb to it. Kids can recognize that they are being punished for wrongdoings, even when they don’t understand exactly what they did wrong. Unless they are spoken to from another trusted adult who is not hurting them, but trying to help them, do I think kids can be educated to abuse. Kids love and want to please from day one. Abusers use that against them for their personal sadistic purposes.

Weren't these poor children in school where they would be seen by teachers every day? How did no one notice and report the signs of abuse earlier? If home educated, why wasn't that being properly monitored and inspected by the responsible authority? I doubt whether anyone is a perfect parent. I strongly object to the framing of Franke's charges as a matter of differing disciplinary styles. She tortured her kids. There's no "she crossed the line" as if she was doing something reasonable and them crossed over into doing something unreasonable, she starved her kids, deprived them of water, left them to the exposure of the elements, bound her son so tight the bindings cut him, smeared cayenne pepper into those wounds, duct taped over the wounds, and bound him again. There is no point on the spectrum where any of those things are in the realm of reasonable discipline.
Dare I ask? Where were they getting the electricity from for all those lights? It's a long way from a freezing, and dark or at best dimly lit, stable in Bethlehem, and a newborn's first cry.
I watched ruby and it seemed likely that she has un diagnosed mental health. Also it seemed like ruby's family trough her under the bus she should have had a mandatory evaluation. Unfortunately I've been seeing a pattern adults with mental health abusing their own children.

The way I see it ALL the kids were abused - if they lived in the house they saw most of what was going on and that affects their brain. Children learn so much by example. They all need counseling.

Went through some very similar situations. I dealt with physical and mental abuse from as young as I can remember up until I ran away at 18. The woman who was in charge of most of the abuse worked as a child therapist. Still does to this day. Never had to face consequences for her actions despite me speaking up as a child many times during the abuse. I never had the opportunity to do so as an adult as I've been too busy trying to get my life together after knowing nothing but abuse and disfunction.

I sincerely hope that RF never gets to be with her children until they are adults and make the decision to be in her presence again. Until, they can equally fight back against her just in case she happens to get brainwashed again, since it seems to be so easy for her to succumb to it. Kids can recognize that they are being punished for wrongdoings, even when they don’t understand exactly what they did wrong. Unless they are spoken to from another trusted adult who is not hurting them, but trying to help them, do I think kids can be educated to abuse. Kids love and want to please from day one. Abusers use that against them for their personal sadistic purposes.

He was at home when the oldest son had his bed taken away for seven months & he was forced to sleep on a bean bag. Also thought it was funny to take the bed room & bathroom doors off so the 2 sons had no privacy. Both parents are sadists.imo.

Weren't these poor children in school where they would be seen by teachers every day? How did no one notice and report the signs of abuse earlier? If home educated, why wasn't that being properly monitored and inspected by the responsible authority? I doubt whether anyone is a perfect parent. We all make mistakes, But systematic, sustained abuse like this is way off the scale. I hope the children get all the help they need so they can grow up as strong and healthy as is now possible for them, and not inflict the same or similar parenting on their own children in the future.

I strongly object to the framing of Franke's charges as a matter of differing disciplinary styles. She tortured her kids. There's no "she crossed the line" as if she was doing something reasonable and them crossed over into doing something unreasonable, she starved her kids, deprived them of water, left them to the exposure of the elements, bound her son so tight the bindings cut him, smeared cayenne pepper into those wounds, duct taped over the wounds, and bound him again. There is no point on the spectrum where any of those things are in the realm of reasonable discipline.
Dare I ask? Where were they getting the electricity from for all those lights? It's a long way from a freezing, and dark or at best dimly lit, stable in Bethlehem, and a newborn's first cry.
