According to the Dash Rendar’s timeline, right about the time he accomplished a mission involving his outrider’s hyperdrive blowing out, he just happened to be close enough to tatooine to limp his way over to Mos Eisley and managed to get it repaired during his time here. I’m assuming this means right about the time Luke first arrived here, he was already good to go and on his way out to pursue further adventures. Shadows of the empire took place 3 years later, but during the time we witness him leaving, I guess it coincided with the events of A New Hope. Dash’s story was written IRL about a year before this movie’s 1997 re-release so it makes sense they took the time to smidge this little subtle nod in there.....ironic cause Dash would encounter Luke and the rebels 3 years later on hoth to deliver weapons for the rebels (also reuniting with Han), both having no idea they narrowly missed encountering each other a few years earlier (maybe Dash and Han partied together before Luke arrived)........imagine if Dash stuck around a bit longer and got wasted at Mos Eisley some more. What if Luke and Obi-wan struck a deal with him instead of Han Inside that bar? Luke was clearly skeptical of allying with Han in the first place, but he was their best and only known option at the time........endless possibilities

I remember seeing A New Hope Special Edition in theaters...it actually showed The Outrider taking off from the ground and then turning and blasting off. My only thought at the time was holy shit, is that Dash's Outrider...?
The comic book of SOTE I read back in '96 said there would be the outrider in this scene of the still-to-be-released new edition of Episode IV. I went to the movies just to see it on screen. Saw it. Life was still ugly.
I would love for this to happen. Could be episodes 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5 with 6.5 being right after ROTJ including de-aged Ford and Hamil as Luke starting new Jedi order including backstory of Snoke.
Hes such a cool character, rumor is the Outrider is supposed to make a cameo in ROS, i would luv to see Dash and Kyle Katarn appear alongside the Resistance when they're all in briefing before the final showdown with the First Order. Even if they were just blink and you'll miss it cameos in the background.
Dash Rendar’s ship is in A New Hope, Dash Rendar is from Shadows of the Empire, this movie is canon, Shadow’s of the Empire is *still* canon confirmed. Lol take that Disney.
Dash Rendar is canon, the outrider is canon, by proxy shadows of the empire is canon. I sat in on a back door meeting at Disney (true story) and Disney execs were arguing and pissed that they couldn't make SOTE, Dash, and the Outrider non canon like they did the rest of the extended universe. All because the big man George L. put it in the movie. The new CGI crap they are peddling with the Outrider but not Dash was their attempt to keep the ship but write out the rest.
Actually The Outrider is canon it was featured on some Disney website or webshow. So Dash might be canon, and considering how Disney is finally looking to the EU for ideas( which you wonder why they didn't do that from the start.), he may show up.
@@pupulauls Nah it wasn't that last cartoon. It was on a website Disney had for Star Wars, the outrider was shown on like the opening of the page I believe. It's been so long ago. Apparently you can see it at the end of Ep9 when all the ships show up at the end.
It is. It always has been. The box for Power of The Force The Outrider usually has a sticker on it and that sticker says “see The Outrider in the special edition of Star Wars coming to theaters 1997”
It's amazing how everyone in Star Wars is always in the same place despite them having the ability to travel across galaxies.

It's possible the company that made the YT2400 had some crazy gambit business strategy and decided to make more than one of them.

Disney need s to make a trilogy of films with Dash Rendar , they could begin the story moments after this scene
would be the best thing to happen to star wars
In a very long time.
That would be great :)

Yes, it is clearly Dash Rendar's Outrider, added on the 20th anniversary VHS edition of "A New Hope" ;)

It's the outrider, and Dash is just cashing in on some deals before he has to unbeknownstly make a trip to Hoth soon. 😏
Jesus, Shadows Of The Empire was hard as shit.
Yes is the Outrider
This pleases my soul
It is a Wonderful sight
Wiki says The outrider and Rendar are botb Legends.... well Guess im seeing a ghost ship in the top left of the screen of this scene. Rip.

Yes
The Wookipedia says it is.
At 0:06 the ship hanging over the top of the building that's the outrider?
yup
Shadows of the empire is indeed canon, but luke is not a jedi knight?
its not canon just the ship an characters on the ship
It looks like the Outrider! Ouh yeah!
Rebel transport at the beginning
It's very possible that its just another YT-2400 and not the actual outrider
Your lack of faith is disturbing....
George confirmed it was the Outrider
never noticed this
0:07 to the left corner of the screen yeh it does look like it but hmm i dont know for sure.
it is, it was confirmed a while ago. at the very least, it's a YT-2400, the same model that dash uses

I hate Disney canon! Shadow of the Empire IS canon, period!
