Thank you sooooooo much!!!!! You saved me a 650 dollar tow. It happened again but got me the 70 miles home. I liked and subscribed! BTW it was going to be 650 because I was in a parking garage 3 levels down that my yukon only had 2 inches of overhead. Again thank you!
2002 CHEVY SUBURBAN …Just in case anyone was having this problem . No crank no start …… fuel and battery gauges flip up still like it’s going to start and then dead silence . Replaced starter and back on the rd . Also when it went out couple issues I had was I tried jumping it one more time with a flat head and it blew the 40 amp fuse which caused the gas and battery gauge to stop flipping up when key was turned to on position . Lastly the replacement starter I purchased was longer than the original . So if you ran into that problem just know it will ….. I repeat will fit so don’t worry . Hope I helped someone as I searched every video looking for someone with the same issue on their suburban or if the larger one would fit and could t find not one video .
Just cleaning all 6 important grounds and fix one, i got 4x4 to work, cluster to work, and fuel fill issues... just from an hour of leisurely maintenance 👌.. keep the grounds clean, wet parts wet, and dry parts dry and those 5.3's will treat you good
You make a good point about chocking wheels. Just after 13:00 of your video, you've got to reach past the transmission gear shift lever. One day when I had a truck on ramps, I accidentally bumped that shift lever. It shifted the transmission into neutral, and the entire truck lurched. Fortunately I had the wheels chocked. As I laid under the vehicle I realized I could have died if it had lurched off the ramps.
I actually learned a lot from this video thank you! My grandma’s truck has no power to the #85 pin on starter relay and no power to the crank fuse while turning key to start. I’m thinking it’s the ignition switch, but I’m not sure how to test that! What do you think??
Mannnn that's what happened to me. I have a 92 Astro van and it sat for 1year because it wouldnt crank or start. The starter has always been strong in this van. I knew it wasnt bad. But I had hired multiple mechanics to look at it and most of them said it was the starter Spent about 500 with different mechanics just misdiagnosing it saying it was the starter. So I finally broke down and bought a starter and changed it and it was still not turning over or starting. I called each of them and said told ya it wasnt the starter!!! With no where else to turn I just decided to get on the internet again and just keep lookin for something I didnt try. I ran into a post online where this really old guy was talking about safety neutral switches causing my symptoms. I do work on cars all the time but I had never heard of a safety neutral switch. and so upon looking up and learning what it is and what it does I realized on my model its on the steering column and so I moved wired around incase of a loose connection somewhere and I wiggled the damn shifter and it started right up. Haunt had a problem since. I spent so much money and for nothing!
Hey young man I’m so excited to tell you I found your channel and I love how you describe everything step-by-step but at the end of this video you said there’s going to be a video showing me how to replace the safety neutral switch, can you tell me where I can find that video I’ve been looking for it I don’t think I have found it yet so please I’m a new subscriber let me know what to look for that video or send me the links to it thank you sir God bless you and your family and your friends and all your viewers on your channel praying that your channel reaches 2 million very soon God bless you once again.✝️✝️✝️🙏🏻🇺🇸
I have a 1999 GMC sierra 2500 with a 6.0 just replace the starter alternator and battery battery lights on turn the key and nothing any advice where to start all the relays are replaced
If you don't see a check engine light on the dash the minute you turn the key the computer isn't getting a connection. Double check with the obd2 port. If the fuses isn't blown and your amperage draw is acceptable. Your problem is the pcm.
I have same problem battery on 01 sierra has been changed three times in the last 23 years I've changed the alternator the fuel pump battery I'm getting the starter to turn but it's not cranking completely over it goes to but just cranks
That’s exactly what I was thinking he doesn’t know if Jack’s going to last I’ve seen my jacks stands all of a sudden collapse trying to lift the car up I can’t believe this young man did this it could’ve cost him his life my goodness you can never be too safe underneath the car. God bless you sir and your family and friends. ✝️✝️✝️🇺🇸🙏🏻
So i have a 2002 cadillac escalade that was sitting for about to months, it needed a jump to get it started but now it always needs a jump to get started, i took the starter battery and alternator to get tested, starter was bad, alternator was good and battery might have a dead cell, well i got a new starter for it put everything back in and when we went to start it it had no power throughout the truck, so then we went to jump it and now the truck wanted to start on its own without the key in the ignition, i have no clue why its doing that or what could be the cause if anyone can help me please
Unfortunately I do not. It's very easy. You need to heat up the connectors because they have a sealant in them. I used a heat gun. If you don't heat them up it's a nightmare to remove both connectors. Hope this helps
I've been told that if your reverse lights come on when you shift into reverse, that the neutral safety switch is good. Signal path is usually ignition switch, (in cab) fuse, neutral safety switch, starter relay and finally starter. A quick way to see if the starter and it's wire connections are good is to take the cover off the starter relay (leave it plugged in) and use your fingers to give the tabs a quick sqeeze. Your starter should turn over. (Make sure car is in park first).
@@deezol24 the starter relay is in the fuse box located under the hood. You'll have to look at a diagram to figure out which one it is. The diagram is usually under the lid of the fuse box. The relay looks like a little black box. Pull it out; take off the top plastic part, and plug the bottom part back in. You will see two metal tabs on top that you can squeeze together. Make sure your car is in park and with the key in the on position, give them a light squeeze.
I have a crank no start and I have thrown more ground cables on this vehicle than God himself. Does anybody have a solution Or an idea or even a holy crap idea. Hell let's throw darts at a bored
I dont know a complete fix but I know a way to start the car to get it running - take out starter relay - wrap a heavy gauge wire around pin 87. Put the starter relay back in making sure the wire is not so big the it prevents the other pins from making contact - Put the car in park - turn the key to 'on' position - touch the other end of the wire from pin 87 to the + positive terminal on the battery - it will start right up

To all Gm owners before u spend any thing even time check the ground wires especially the one behind the engine they might be lose or cut .

Solved it was the ecm. Got a used ecm and it started after that.

On my 2006 Silverado, terminal 85 is ground and 86 comes from the ignition.
Do you have the link to how to change the the safety neutral switch?

So if it turns on with a jumper clip does that mean i need a new starter?
Did u find out what's wrong my truck doing the same

Help! 2002 Chevy Tahoe. Alarm goes off, Battery went dead, new battery, alarm still goes off, car won’t start.
There are videos that say the theft deterrent system that needs a reset. Try searching for that.
I bypass the theft alarm

Damn you giving me a headache. You're all over the place dude.
You keep jumping all over the place and make it hard to follow what you're doing. What you're doing is not making it simple to follow!
I disagree. This video is very clear and understandable
