Also, thanks for naming the lakes Rod. I know people freak out at you and other youtubers about that but it's nice to check out lakes online - even ones that I'll probably never visit.
Some lakes get named, some don't, it really just depends on the circumstances. Tunkwa Lake is a heavily stocked lake with a good amount of access opportunities, managed to cater families and less experienced anglers so it's good to make that information available. Some of the other lakes don't get mentioned (but can still be figured out with some detective work hehe) if access is more limited and has the potential to produce bigger fish. :) I'm not really that concerned about people freaking out when lakes are either named or not.
Thank you Angela, one of my goals on this platform is definitely to highlight fishing enjoyed by female anglers. The last decade or so we’ve seen a pretty good increase of women participating in fishing which is great. Hopefully these videos make it less intimidating for other women who may want to get into it.
Brother Rod’s Very Nices To See You Take Your Wife With You This Time She is Very Good Catching A Lot of Fish i Love Fishing Too i When To Shannon Lake Edith Lake and Logan Lake Last Weekend but i don’t Catch any Fish Just go For Fun Thank You for sharing us your Video i’m From Mission BC 🙏😎😊👍👍👌
Excellent vid Rod. Up to Tunkwa last week and still a bit slow there. So much alge in the water. But also hit two other lakes nearby, not Pat or Logan, though. Fishing was pretty good there. Ended up with Edith and it was hot in terms of Cironomids. Had a fantastic time! And yest would love to see Linda, or any of your compatriots fishing with you. Always best when you have a friend to fish with!
Thanks Kenn! But, how could you possibly have a stressful day, you're in the Yukon! 😉 We'll be heading up to your area again this summer, and this time further north to Dawson City etc.
We use quick release indicators to fish deep waters (usually up to 25ft). I have a video on how to set this up: ua-cam.com/video/KzlgbWWp_0I/v-deo.html I will do a separate video on how to set the indicator so the fly is suspended at the right depth soon.
If you decide to get that boat loader, they are based in Kelowna and my recommendation is to drive up and have them installing it for you. It’s well worth the time and money instead of trying to do it yourself.
I love my Helix 5, have had it since 2017. I don't have a video showing how to use it yet because I probably only use a small percentage of its functions, but I do know the marketing rep for Humminbird well and there are plans to have him doing that for us in the future, hopefully this spring.
Yeah that has become more apparent in the past couple of weeks. Hard to tell the extent of it as I think a lot of that challenging fishing is stiill influenced by the poor water conditions. Hopefully that improves soon and we can actually figure out how abundant they are.
I've never been at Tunkwa but it looks like it has great shore access - why don't I see anyone fishing from shore? Is there lots of private land around the lake?
All those three lakes as well as Leighton right by Tunkwa have good shore fishing opportunities for sure. And you're right there are private properties around the lake so that limits the opportunities. I have caught pretty nice fish by simply casting and retrieving from shore at Tunkwa Lake Resort, especially in the evenings.

Tough fishing at Tunkwa continues for sure as I am getting updates a few times a week. Hopefully conditions of the lake improve soon. Thanks FM!

Yeah, the price of driving regularly over the Coquihalla throughout the year.
Not too bad... more than I caught at work!
Hey Rod , I live in Logan lake always enjoy your videos. I broke my foot so haven't been able to get out so your filling my addiction. Cheers Gary .
Hi Gary, speedy recovery! I'm glad that the videos help in the meantime.
How do I fish deep with a fixed indicator ?
How do I find the depth and set the indicator on my leader when using a fixed indicator ?
We use quick release indicators to fish deep waters (usually up to 25ft). I have a video on how to set this up: ua-cam.com/video/KzlgbWWp_0I/v-deo.html

Nice video, thanks Rod and Linda. What flies were you both using?
Thanks. Linda was using a pretty bright green damsel nymph.
What is your truck rack set up and size of boat? 👍
My boat is a G3 1442 jon boat, 14’ long. The rack is an electric boat loader made by www.loadmyboat.com
@@FishingwithRod thanks, Rod! I live in the Puget Sound area👍
If you decide to get that boat loader, they are based in Kelowna and my recommendation is to drive up and have them installing it for you. It’s well worth the time and money instead of trying to do it yourself.
Who manufactures your boat rack?
It’s made by a company called “Load My Boat” based in Kelowna BC. www.loadmyboat.com
@@FishingwithRod Thanks Rod! Love the channel 👍
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Nice video Rod, successful trip! ^^ But holy cow your windshield... lol😱
Yeah it's being changed soon. 😅😅😅
Nice video. I see you are using a helix sounder , have you done an on the water video on set up and use of it? Cheers Trevor

There was definitely winterkill at tunkwa . I was just there and it was the worst fishing I've ever experienced there. Over May long

Hi Rod, can you tell me a bit about your boat set up? I’m in Southern Alberta and want to get into a budget boat etc.
Yep! It's a G3 1442 jon boat. I actually have a video about it at ua-cam.com/video/ohPhiF2JjOs/v-deo.html
@@FishingwithRod thank you!
Next time just take the pity fly from your friend😜🎣
Some men are stubborn. You’d think after three days, I’d switch up. 😆🤪😏
