Making a Lamp Finial

My wife has a lamp that's very special to her, but all that's left of the finial is the threaded insert. I'll make a quick and simple replacement out of a small bit of scrap wood so that it looks more complete.

Can you give exact dimensions and names of the inserts you used to make this beautiful finial? Ty

It's been so long that it's hard to say with any certainty, but as I recall, the insert was from the lamp itself. The previous finial had broken off and been lost, but the threaded portion still remained, so I just used that.
