One piece of feedback I think is really key for me and others as well are little depressions for the Nintendo sicker on the lid and even depressions for the bottom stickers too. This would make a HUGE difference for me. It's like a war, one side of me wants the highest quality shells desperately (yours) but the other side needs those key little details that make all the difference. Yes of course you can still put them on, but between being raised over the surface and no shot at getting it perfect it really isn't great. Please consider it!!
Beautiful product. Could not be happier. Used the IPS kit you have available. Taped up the sensors (I hate them). Used FP membranes and eXtremeRate buttons and they were perfect. Great job! Very well thought out and amazing quality.
Alright lemme start with saying the shell is great! I just installed your metal shell last weekend. overall I think you did an awesome job! With that being said, I only have 3 things that I found as minor issues. 1) The stock GBA SP hinges weren't strong enough to keep it closed or hold it open without some play and screen wobble. I just ordered new hinges and will update in the comments once installed, because this could be that my hinges are worn out which is why I'm having problems. 2) My screen had a ton of space in-between the back shell which made it very loose. If it came with a piece of foam that fits behind the screen to wedge it into place it would have saved me tons of time. I had to layer a bunch of double sided tape up to hold it in place. 3) You should send a warning on a little piece of paper about overtightening, the first thing I did was strip the threading. My own fault but this video wasn't up when I installed. With that being said 5/5 stars.
Alright just a quick update. my replacement hinges were better. They did keep it closed, but with the weight of metal shell it still stresses the OEM hinges to their limit. Maybe down the line some stronger hinges can be manufactured.
Hey! I just ordered a GBA Metal shell, I also got the battery and PCB to go with it, do I need the diode and 3D printed piece to use the battery? I didn't see any up to date guides on your website.
Just ordered mine. I've been waiting years for this! It will be like my 6th BoxyPixel shell. Do you have any source for gba sp batteries? If you make a new version please consider switching to your batteries! Thanks!!

I had the screen wobble problem I think its just cause its metal but the screen they provide fits and looks amazing i def love the build!

@@trav1225 appreciate the update because it’s good to know 👍 still seems worth it to have newer hinges I guess!
are you planning to make machined shoulder buttons for this version?
Yes! Just trying to find time to finish prototyping.
This looks dope. makes me wanna find my old sp to mod it.
keep up the great work, these are incredible
Any chance we can pre-order shoulder buttons and hinge covers in solid brass?
Shoulder buttons havent been made for it yet. But you can use the unhinged shoulder buttons. Its a little finicky but it works
Have u thought about making one with out the usb- c hole or the 3.5 audio hole cause I would definitely get one if those holes weren't optional
Just received my gold case and I'm super excited to build it. Are there any plans to make hinge covers to match the case?
Will this interfere with the mako battery
where does the Bumper part go?
Will your company produce n3ds metal shell in the future ?

For the GBA yes. GBA-SP, no.
What does it mean if my screen shakes and is loose in the open and closed position????
wont your hands smell all metalic from this shell? i'd love one though

Im thinking about making a saints row themed gba sp with this shell and brass buttons
Does it fit an ita TFT screen?
The laminated ita screen won’t fit.
Kind of regretting not getting purple
Sucks how the Black color sells out fast :(
I believe we are in stock now ( as I type this)
