- Just a little update video on the 1988 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit. The seat belt doesn't retract in hot weather??? So I need to look at that and thought I would film it.

I like the idea of fixing a classic Italian scooter, it would be a series but easier and quicker to fix, also he can do it in the shed.

Even if it's not showroom sparkling, it certainly looks very respectable. The important thing is it's back on the road and being enjoyed. Well done with the seat belt, seems RR had a lapse with the design/research/quality control.
The Rolls Royce looks awesome 😊i used to own a silver shadow and a silver spirit 😊. Those cars are on another planet. Most definitely looking for another in the next 12 months. Or maybe a Bentley 😊 .keep up the videos and enjoy the Rolls Royce they are awesome 😊

Back in the late 89’s I owned a Bedford CF van. That had a 2279cc petrol engine and the highest MPG I ever got was about 17.5. Most of the time it was around 15. So 11 MPG for a 6.5 litre engine doesn’t seem too bad!
I can just imagine the smoth ride and confort this car offers, most worth every penny in gas.

Vince, I've got to hand it to you. I only ever really watched the first video on this where it was mold ridden with peeling off wrap but this looks fantastic. I wouldn't want to drive this on the motorway due to the lack of a modern roll-cage but otherwise a nice country car!

😢NO NO NO PLEASE VINCE IT IS NOT ROLLS ROYCES. IT IS PLAINLY JUST ROLLS ROYCE MAY BE BE ONE OR MORE ROLLS BUT NOT ROYCES PLEASE. WHAT a fantastic series as a retired ROLLS Chauffeur I was over the moon. We never had a chance to get up personal with them clean and drive. Very clever workaround Vince well done, really enjoyed the series and the additional ones too, that petrol garage looked like the one as you head for St Albans, i used to fill up there for the journey back to Newcastle, now I go to Costco 😊
sound's like you enjoy fixing more than driving! even a 2005 car look like a classic these day compared to the modern spaceships 😄 I would enjoy seeing another car fix, many classic car auctions available if intrested for a sell
Seat-belt retraction, mmmm, you got it easy :P Nissan's answer to the seatbelt retraction for my model of car when it was released in 1991, was to make it a warranty issue, you took the car back to a dealer at the time, and they installed Nissan's miracle cure (Which wasn't really a cure, as it only partially solved the issue), which was to put tape on the inside of the upper hook so that the seatbelt would supposedly glide through the loop better :P
My car of course never received that fix.

That was brilliant. We own a Continental R with the same engine. On a trip through Portugal & Spain last year we averaged 21mpg, which I don't think is too bad but you are right, town driving is not their thing for economy. Also my mate who's a little bit crazy (hi Rick) booked his Turbo R in for some rust work and it's now been with them over a year. It looked great on top but was riddled with rust almost everywhere, so be careful.

Hi Vince, nice to see the RR on the road. And yeah, it is thiRRsty, but that is the pRRice you pay for a Rolls-Royce. Now imagine you've found the old broken one and tried to to restore that. You would be still on it and it would cost double themoney.
This car brought me to the channel and I have never even seen a Rolls-Royce in real life.

Vince you done a good job, have you thought of hiring it out for weddings, all you need is a chauffeurs hat and some insurance and give your name to wedding planners. As for for consumption do a single point LPG conversion a system working closed loop with the lambda is an easy fit and works well. Fit a doughnut tank in place of the spare wheel.
No respray just get a good detailer to polish it, cost about a £100 but will bring that paint up to a good shine.

Vince, I loved all the Roller vids but now it would be great if you found a different car, a fixerupper, you must have learned so much from the Roller it's time to move on with a different model, preferably one that does a bit more MPG, we would love to see you do up another class car and we will all be following along 👍

Amazing result. It is a great car, it drinks gas, well, but a Rools Royce owner sohuld even care. It is not a car for everyday, when you are in a hurry on a busy street. This is a car to enjoy and you need to find the proper the time and place to do so. Looks amazing. The moder ones, yeahhh they are nice, but a bit exagerated. The silver spirit is way more soft and refined IMHO.

As someone who fuel's a 4.2L supercharged V8 - I feel your pain at the pump haha. 12MPG we get from the wife's car. Do you also have to pay the £1k supercar road tax on that Rolls? Painful that one too. Still - worth it for me.
