Not very often does a powerhouse matchup live up to the hype.. this game was all that and so much more.. it had everything.. superstars, big plays, comebacks, final second drama, both teams playing their hearts out.. the greatest college football game ever played.. and I am a USC fan. The highlights still sting even 13 years later lol
Thanks man, I know that was a "Tough Pill to Swallow" for USC fans but as a UT fan Yall' made us "Sweat it Out!
Absolutely the best college game ever. Vince Young in the confetti is timeless.
Great game ever
Facts!!! This was 17 years ago and it still carries the title as the best college football championship game ever played
Vince Young is Legendary, greatest college QB when it comes to moxy and unshakable will. He was not going to lose that night. No way. Long live VY....
As a USC fan, this is the greatest game of all time. The game surpassed the hype
This was a biblical level college game. It was the best one I’ve ever watched.
Vince Young made it look effortless.
TuckeyVideos thank god he didn’t win the heisman and jinx this game! He was unstoppable that night.
He owns yo greatest Single Game Performance in Championship History..... Never will we see an QB throw for 250+ Yards & a TD & Rush For 200+ yards & 3 TD's. Its Unheard Of & No matter what, Vince Solidified Himself as the Greatest Championship Performer in College history & top 5 performers in Sports Championship History. #When He Was Invincible
@@tylerphan9940 could you argue that SC was a better team then Clemson?
@@gd1889 easily.
Vince Young in the confetti is timeless.
Hearing the names of great coaches and player now in the nfl gives me the chills
This is isn't just the greatest college football game ever played, its the greatest football game ever played. Period.
I think they are bigger games than that
Not even close. It has to be a professional game to be the best ever.
@@dodger7111 pleeeeaase. professional games are shit in intensity compared to collegiate games. more tradition and hope behind college teams.
Yikes
SgtFinley19 disagreed, but that’s a respectable
My buddy and I sat amongst the USC fans in the USC end zone behind the goalposts. We talk about this game every time get together.
I watch the replay at least once a year.
It was the Greatest College Football game of all time.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hook ‘Em Horns
The best college football game ever played
Agreed. I remember watchin this game..... Straight Iconic
Greatest college football game i have ever seen.
Both teams 13-0
A real #1 vs #2 superstars on both sides of the ball.....smh never cld u ever ask for a game like this AND it was the ROSE BOWL.....
Vince played the greatest College QB game i have ever seen tht day..... and at 45 i have seen a bunch of them. Win or Lose that was the best game ever and im glad my team won!
I was 17 when this game was played Ive been a ut fan since 9...30 now best football game ever
I was in YA and 15 lol. Been a Long Horns fan since.
Fitting send off for the voice of college football-- Keith Jackson RIP
Over a decade later Im watching this highlight video and it gives me chills. Two titans battling it out and the clock being the greatest enemy. Definitely one of the best games I’ve watched in all of sports if not the greatest. Then you come to the comment section and it’s so wholesome. Fans of both sides recognize the magnitude of this game and how it could have gone either way, but that’s what makes a great game.
Many events in history are looked at through rose colored glasses. This is not one of them. Everyone watching knew it was the greatest game of football every played and it continues to be to this day. I was 11 on this day and even I knew it. It was way past my bed time but there was no way my Pops was going to let me miss this shoot out. Incredible.
Anyone watching in quarantine?
This was THE last College game Keith Jackson ever called and as they say If you're gonna go out , do it on a high note. Kieth Jackson got to do that.
It's kinda sad watching this and seeing the college spirit in this compared to today. Every single fan was on their feet and every single player was playing their heart out. The game was just completely different. The competitiveness and the strength and the intensity in this game was the reason this game will go down as the best football game ever.
Man, i remember watching this game. I was jumping off my couch every play. It was amazing to watch!!!
best game I've ever watched
Vince Young was a BEAST in college. Very sad that it never worked out for him the NFL.
Revenge I was born that year lmao.
Actually was as good in nfl media and nfl establisment fake news lied
It was a shame that he was drafted by a team whose coach didn't want him.
This game happened like 4 months before I was born. As a college football fan I remember people talking about this game and seeing clips of it and how it was arguably the greatest game in college football history. Watched these highlights and sure enough that was well said. Vince Young in the confetti postgame is one of the most iconic photos ever. What an incredible moment in the history of this incredible sport
This was indeed a game to remember. People think that one touchdown was overrated, but they don't know about the amazing comeback no one thought could happen. "Vince Young scores!!"
It's crazy to see someone Vince's size that can move and just perform all around like that... Wild
Games you could do in the future:
2013 Iron Bowl, Wide Right I, Arkansas-Kentucky 2003 (7 OTs, final score 71-68), 2003 National Championship, OSU-Michigan 1997, 2007 Fiesta Bowl, 1979 Sugar Bowl, Navy-UNT 2007, Appalachian State-Michigan 2007 (Jesus Christ what was happening in 2007), 1984 Orange Bowl, Hail Flutie, The Big Game 1982, 1979 Cotton Bowl
LMAO right.
Wide right 1
Makes me 🤮
Kentucky vs Auburn 2010
Adam and Eve met each other in high school in 2007. They were freshmen.
2021 Michigan smackdown on Ohio Sate
Dang I was like 5 back then and I became a Longhorns fan after the 05 season. Now 18 and will be attending ut Austin this coming fall. HOOK'EM HORNS
It was awesome to be a fan during this season. I’m from Austin- people were nuts! I even got to attend the game when they played Baylor
Hope you graduated.😊
As a longhorns fan, when Dwayne Jarrett made that td catch i got nervous. But i watched this team all season I just knew we were going to win. Weird feeling, but this team played like that all year knowing they were going to win.
The greatest football game I ever saw...PERIOD!!! For once, the BCS computer got it right, but how hard was it to get #1 and #2 right? They were the two undisputed best teams in the country. So much talent! So much hype! I was in Iraq serving the end of my one year deployment when I watched this game. It was bigger than the Superbowl the following month. What...a...GAME!!!
By the way, my second favorite college game was Auburn vs. Oregon in the 2011 National Championship game. It wasn't on this level of hype & talent, but that was another game I will NEVER forget!
Vince Young dominated this game.
🤘🏾🤘🏾
Him an Matt went off
i remember watching this game live decked out in all longhorns gear and had a longhorns cookie from some family friends who went to UT. what an incredible day that was
🤘🏾🤘🏾
Ima USC I watched this game I was hurt that we lost but overall it was a good ass game, Vince Young and the Longhorns we're good competition.
Very cool of you to say that.
The eyes of Texas were definitely on USC that great night at the Rose Bowl. 🤘🐂
This is the game that made me a college football fan for life. As a salty USC fan, I still maintain that Vince Young’s knee was down haha
Horn here I agree he was down...but I have no doubt it wouldn't have mattered he was not going to lose that game. That was such a great USC team if we played 10 times that year I have no doubt we'd go 5-5.
One of the best game ever in College Football. Tbh dat game could've went to either team
I gave you a thumbs up, but, Jesus, it's "could've GONE to either team."
@Goatbe Bryant it would still be first and goal. We score there anyway.
@@desertpair2 You used too many commas. What a fucking mistake to make.
Vince Young, calm, cool, and collected this whole game.
Texas vs Michigan 2004
That was Vince coming out party
Greatest college football game I've ever seen!!✌🏽💯
sad to see my texas defense today
lol but texas got that dub against notre dame so im still proud of them about that
still we cant beat any other teams
shane is a future heisman candidate
jcaleb23 🤘🏻
jcaleb23 it's horrible Herman will get it right
Probably one of the single greatest performances by one player to win a game. Hail Vince
Greatest Championship performance in Football history
Still to me the greatest game ever played..
I remember being 10 years old watching this game. I was a casual football fan at the time, I’d watch a game if my older brother turned it on, but I wouldn’t really seek it out. But this game, I watched from beginning to end and it was the first game I ever did that with. What a damn game.
Every thursday, we'll be taking a look at a memorable game to remember. I really like this idea, because it lets everyone who's never seen the game get a quick experience of what it was like. Being a USC fan, I watched this game when I was 9, and haven't seen it since. It was great going back and rewatching the game and putting this together! What game would you like to see next?
Harris Highlights Notre Dame vs Stanford 2012
Harris Highlights another amazing video man! Please do one of Boston College vs Miami 2001 and Auburn vs Alabama 2013, if you can (:
Harris Highlights Great video of a great game. As a Texas fan this will stand as the best sports game I have ever witnessed, but I was only 4 when the two Universities clashed, so not the best game I've seen live
Please do Nebraska vs. Miami in the 84' National Championship
Ole miss vs Alabama 2014 with Bo Wallace
In 2021, I STILL have not seen a College Football Championship game come down to the last play like this one…
Nice! Two Texas games already featured in A Game To Remember
Greatest college game ever period. Foreva changed the game
Boise St vs Oklahoma in 2007 I believe . But dang does this kill me to watch the reggie bush pitch, the failed 4th and 2 and then the vince young TD.
Nick Patrick HAHAHAAAAA
Nick Patrick it hurts me to see the bush push that should’ve been called back
Man 4th and 5, game on the line. Some of you may remember 1969 vs Arknsas. 4th and 3, game on the line. Right 53 veer pass, Texas converts! Love the Horns!
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
That was the best game ever. All of my cousins went to SC and I went to UCLA. After work I went straight to the football party. I drove past the Rose Bowl and I got pumped! When I went into the house I was the only person wearing a Texas jersey. 🤣 They threw chicken wings and pizza at me through out the game as I sat in the corner. When Young started to make his run when his teammates were all beat up and broken the whole house got quiet and I was to only one cheering. When Texas won I said, "Thank you for letting watch the game but I gotta go before traffic gets bad." 😂 Good times
Great story. I hope you never washed the pizza and wings stains from your jersey.
Greatest game of all time. Like a Hollywood script.
Every Heisman finalist on the field.
34 game winning streak vs 19 game winning streak
Texas vs California
Rose bowl
Keith Jackson’s last game
Last second comeback win
I’m an Irish fan I thought when notre dame played usc at home that was the greatest game I ever seen. But Texas can usc that’s hands down the greatest game of all time !
Best game of all time. Hook em
Vince young greatest college football player ever
To me, it’s underrated that Texas, other than Ohio State and A&M was demolishing their opponents all season. USC had a few closer games. But for Texas to come into this game against quality competition after scoring 70 points in conference championship and hang all game and finish it shows not just how good Vince was but how good the entire team was. No one ever talks about how strong their defense was. Vince was the centerpiece but that pick by Michael Griffin and stopping of LenDale White on 4th and 2 should be praised more than they get. Mack Brown put together a team that I think should be regarded as the very best all around team in college football history.
Easy to forget now but this game was hyped for like 2 straight years, many people thought the matchup would happen in 2004-05 but it didn’t, so in 2005-06 it became a fait accompli, a game of destiny
These videos are great, i hope you do more old school games like this one. One of the best football games I’ve ever watched
Trojan: I was there. I knew Yong was going to run it in. Everyone in the stands knew Young was going to run it in. Why didn't Pete Carrol know he was going to run it in?? I'm not over this yet...give me time.
Ooh please do the 2013 Iron Bowl. I was at that game, and not only was the finish batshit crazy, but the whole game was awesome and intense as hell
I remember hearing about it and I fell in love with USC soon after #Fighton
Airwave Lol it's just a game
Assuming you don't have a dog in the fight it's the greatest game I've ever seen.
The music makes these videos so much more epic.
Randomn time to be saying this but the music and this game are both super nostalgic anyone else feel that way ?
The game, yes, but the music is annoying as fuck.
I always rewatch this specific video… chills everytine
Texas baby!!🤘🏾🤘🏾
Someone is upset that Texas is one of the top 3 most successful college programs of all time.
Goatbe Bryant; Your statement is based on opinion. My statement is based on statistics. Maybe YOU should try again. Still mad about the results of the game, are we???
2:10 that dude got leveled😂
I had just turned 21. Couldn't have asked for a better late birthday present. I still remember the night, or at least the win. Everything after that is a bit fuzzy. HAHAHAHA
I was born that year kinda pisses me of I was born about 20 miles out of la.
Especially if you were on 6th St that night
Even as a horns fan, it's obvious that UT would've been smoked without Vince Young. He just came up so clutch, not much you can do about it
Nicholas Pannes nah dip he was cold af for us
We wouldn’t of even made it
That can be said of all teams missing an important cog.
Nicholas Pannes Lol no shit.. What successful football team you know that didn't have a good quarterback.. Fool you sound stupid
That last touchdown run still haunts me til this day smh
I was at that game. As a USC season ticket holder it was the only time I got physically ill after a loss. Props to Texas who played their asses off that night. But USC pissed that game away with arrogance.
As a big Longhorns fan, I watched this game when I was 6, and I am very happy to be able to watch parts of it again and again. Time to make our way back to greatness. Hook 'Em Horns!
Back when the state that had the greatest athletes of football... Was good.
Stephen Ryan; Texas still does.
Adrian Q Vince said we'll be back.. Man I can feel something.. I hope so
Goatbe Bryant; Quote from Maxpreps........."There is no way California, Florida or any other state’s high school football outranks Texas high school football as a whole. If you think Maxpreps is off their rocker too, be sure to let us know how you feel on our Facebook or Twitter.
Just FYI: This isn’t just Texas pride. There’s plenty of data that proves Texas high school football outranks other states in multiple catagories."
There are 18 current "Texas" quaterbacks in the NFL compared to 10 "California produced" quaterbacks. Maybe Cali high schools have won against Texas teams as of late maybe, something I have never looked into. However, historically?????? No. Also, Texas does play across state lines, even with teams like Monterrey and Toluca Tech in Mexico across the river from the RGV. Didn't know that did you?????
If Texas kept it's talent inside the state, the Big 12 and SEC would be a totally diffrent landscape considering OU, OSU, LSU, and even Bama recruit heavily from the state as the teams mentioned do little recruiting from inside their own borders. Sorry, just a bit of research reveals this.
Goatbe Bryant; You are done because you don't have an argument. I know, I know, logic and statistics are a bitch to argue against. Toluca, Monterrey Tech and even MMA ( private military school in the US) have collegiate aged students.......Playing high school kids..... So,Thank You! That does say a lot considering how lop sided those international games usually end up. A bit more research shows now that even Florida puts out more college recruits than California. Go figure. So Y'all are not even second in that category! Envy is one of the seven deadly sins. But I digress. How is the pac 12 doing this year??????? "Y'all" in California should stick to politics, "Y'all" are bett.......No, wait. "Y'all" suck at that too.
A game to remember: Alabama vs Clemson 2016 National Championship.
Or ole miss vs bama 2014
How about Alabama vs Ole Miss 2016 where Ole Miss lost a 21 point lead.
FireStyle21 or fsu auburn 2013
Harris Highlights , you are good, nothing like recapping the 2006 Natties, VY10 winning the title. Keep up the great highlights! And I thank you for it.
Do the 2002 national championship between Ohio state and Miami that went into double ot
No OT game could ever be the greatest.
I remember watching this in the Gulf of Mexico and USC was the sure bet. I love this game
Never saw a dude that dam big move like a deer to this day.
It was awesome to be a fan during this season. I’m from Austin- people were nuts! I even got to attend the game when they played Baylor
Oh yes, After the game from Downtown to Round Rock all you heard that night was Screaming, Horn honking, and Fireworks.
I agree 💯!!!! The football gods were pleased!!!
Damn. Even watching this gave me chills.
Do a game to remember about the 2007 fiesta bowl Boise State vs. Oklahoma
That’s the best game of all time
If this game was played today, both teams would have to forfeit at halftime- due to each defense being ejected for targeting.
Love your vids tho man
It has beed over 16 years since this game was played and it is no dought this was the BEST football game EVER THE EYES OF TEXAS OUR APOUN YOU!
catholics versus convicts (1988 notre dame vs miami)
Hell of a game
Vince Young- greatest college player of last 20 years, not even close.
Does the name Mike vick ring a bell he would beg to differ
Young, Vick, Bush, Tebow, Newton, Lamar Jackson, Sanders, Melvin Gordon, Tomlinson, Flutie, Mayfield, Ricky Williams, Linart, Murray, Ingram, Hopkins, Watkins, Winston, Brown( Jim), Manziel( 2 time heisman winner), RG3, the list goes on & On..... But the greatest college player of all time is most likely Barry Sanders but Vince Young is easily top 4.....
@@Amb252 vick didn't win a national championship. Sorry but you're not getting called best ever without winning one at QB...the leadership position. RB/WR? sure..but not QB
TJ, Mikey, Vince, Gus, Spinelli, Gretchen, Diggers (Dave and Sam), Ashleys (Armbruster, Boulet, Quinlan, Tomassian), Arnold, Helga, Sid, Stinky, Gerald, Phoebe, Harold Berman, Harold Frumpkin, Ginger, Miranda, Susie, Savannah Shane, Otto Rocket, Angelica, Arthur, Buster, Binky, Muffy, Francine, Ladonna, Joey Stevenson, Iggy, Richie, 3J, Kelsey, Gwendolyn, Angela, Little G., First Original Morgan Matthews, Chrissy Seaver, Pistol Pete were 12th Grade Seniors Class of 2006.
At the time, I as living in California. Everyone there was certain USC would clobber Texas, but I knew better. When the Longhorns must win, they win! Hook 'Em Horns!
This was the best college football game of all time in my opinion
What a game
26 seconds
4th and 5
Game on the line
INVINCEABLE!!!!!
I remember watching this with my dad, i cried. I was 13 lol
Great video, you should do OSU vs Miami 2002
Curtis Rupp wrong
A game to remember: Arizona vs Cal 2014. Or Utah vs Arizona 2015. Both were amazing games, and for Arizona I could use a few good memories at this point in the season >.
@5:55 "kick it quickly" 😂😂😂 man these ppl somethin else but true tho
Pronghorns fan all my life just about, and Vince Young was the reason they won i think. Great game. Both teams have struggled a bit since then.
This was one of the best 1V2 national championship games in years
I remember this game boy one of the (Best) bowl
OU vs FSU in the 2000 national title would be nice, the team that started unranked in many polls defining the odds and winning the title
BOOMER SOONER 4 life
I would like to see OU v FSU 2000 as well...it was a serious defensive battle!
This still hurts my 💔💔
The 2007 Fiesta Bowl; Boise State Vs Oklahoma is my favourite of all time but this is damn close.
Ouch! I knew you're rooting for the Sun Devils now, but I thought you'd still have some love for the Trojans. lol
JustBombsProductions Haha I know bro, but I still classify this as the greatest CFB game ever, so I wanted to start it off with this!
Harris Highlights Yeah, definitely one of the best games ever. Every time I see the Bush lateral it hurts more.
Harris Highlights Penn state is gonna tear USC apart.
