I really love Mulans line where she says “whether brawny or bridal my heart defines me for who I am” because even though she is known for fighting and being a veteran, she also got married like some of the other princesses
@@jfk2428It’s because she loves her sister. The same thing with all the princesses is they love. Just in different ways. Mulan may have gotten married but she loved her family and nation first
“No one can say we aren’t strong, Cinderella we survived!” I love how Rapenzel says that she and Cinderella are strong and survived their childhood abuse (Also love: “We care to share our stories; so others out there won’t feel alone.”)
yep. they (and many other companies and people) think that for a female character to be strong, she needs to fight well and be confident (which often turns into her being a flat, evil character with little redeeming qualities) = basically be more traditionally masculine. but that's not at all the case. it's possible to be comfortable with and strong through your femininty, just like with masculinity
I loved Merida in the end. She’s one of the ones who’s thought to be all “strong” because she didn’t want a man, so you’d think she’d be part of it. But she doesn’t want to. And she doesn’t really sing. And that’s okay too. It’s like an example right there of “not all princesses have to be the same”
I love that this kind of feels like “There’s so many ways to be a woman”. My mother once told me not to tell people she’s a stay at home mom because people would criticize her for it. That makes me so incredibly sad. She made her own choice on what she wanted her life to be and that was taking care of my sister and I. It’s a big job and I see that she gives up a lot of herself for it but she says it brings her the most joy. I still see her as a strong woman. Having kids and wanting to care for them or getting married doesn’t change that for me 😊
it’s hardwired in our DNA as women to care for the family, home and children. we’re meant to be nurturers, men meant to be protectors. women struggle with feeling negative emotions more since because we primarily care for the children, we need to be able to detect threats better than men. we are more emotional, which helps to empathize and raise children better. we are meant to be mothers. yes it’s not for every woman in 2023, not every person should even have children. a woman should never be shamed for choosing the job we are meant to do.
@@ihateallyallwe can retire the nonsense that "women are more emotional". Just look at history for proof that males have always been more emotional, but really you don't need to even look at history, it's evident now. School shooters are all male and their reasons are always due to their feelings being hurt. Heck, just look at males sobbing with anger over this video. Women have to constantly hear the most vile and disturbing misogynistic comments and "jokes" from males, and women don't get violently angry about it, but males get violent and simple things like this video. Males cannot control their emotions and due to this, the crime stats, which are always majority male, are due to their poor emotional regulation.
This actually made me cry. Im a stay at home mom and I had NO IDEA that people would judge me this much. Its really hurtful when they assume im like a sugar baby or something when I worked all the way up until I gave birth, TRIED working with a newborn and her father and I decided that it would be better for our daughter if I stayed at home to take care of her.
Me too! I always say my friend is thr embodiment of Cinderella. She's strong not because she fought physically. But because she endured. She was smart and kind. And she made it out.
Yes!!! I'm so tired of the animosity towards the classic princesses for not being "brave" or "waiting for a man". Not every woman has to be the woman you want them to be!! Also, like, Cinderella went to the ball in spite of her stepmother. That's bravery. She wasn't saved by a man. And plus the only princesses you were really saved by a man were Aurora (who was asleep), Snow White (who was literally dead), and Rapunzel, the latter of which is a very modern princess that fits to category way more than many others. And that's not a bad thing! So maybe let's actually start valuing diversity in female characters for once!!
Aurora being woken up by the Prince allowed her to be a great ruler to her kingdom And wake up everybody else Snow White was so little in age that her being able to escape the huntsman was brave and itself Rapunzel outside of tangled and entangled escaped abusive home who cares about the man who helped her And even if all these women we’re technically saved by a man who cares If they want a classic feminist hero look to all the other princesses
@@honey6610yes!!! I think people forget that Snow White was an abuse victim, and Aurora had never seen another human being before. She was also under a curse. If you think about it, like a chronic illness, you can’t expect somebody to do a doctors work for them selves. Sometimes we need help. The feminist part is acknowledging when help is needed.
I wouldn’t really put rapunzel in the “saved by a man” category. If anything they helped each other save each other from the lives they were living before. Rapunzel wasn’t an unwilling party like Aurora and Snow White, she was just as proactive towards her escape as Eugene was. She literally brings him back from the dead, if anything he was saved by her.
0:11 Honestly, now that I think about it, it's actually the FAIRY GODMOTHER who rescued Cinderella. If she hadn't heard Cinderella's tears, Cinderella would not have gone to the ball, had the time of her life at freedom or met her true love. So overall, Keira Knightly's statement was redundant. Sure the prince was looking for Cinderella but it was the Fairy Godmother's actions that caused this. She was the real hero of the story. So it wasn't a prince, it was a nice old lady who heard the cries of a heartbroken soul and wanted to mend that heart. God bless women like her for her kindness
either way the godmother and Cinderella is the main great characters Cinderella is strong from surviving herself from the abuse the fairy godmother gave Cinderella a chance to go see the world there may cr
The way I see it, the fairy godmother is more of a metaphor, and it's ultimately all about Cinderella's strength. Cinderella's heroic quality is her kindness and hope in the face of a seemingly inescapable abusive home, and the fairy godmother comes to her *because* she's got such a good heart and the ability to pull through her suffering. In a way the fairy godmother feels like a representation of Cinderella's own kindness and optimism - because she believes in a world where she can heal and be happy, magic becomes real, and that magic lets her go to the ball and find love and a *family that loves her* (this is such an important part or what the prince provides that is so tragically ignored... she gets married into a new family where she is treated well.) Cinderella is a story about how if you keep living on and believing you *can* be happy someday and value your own future, you can pull through. The fairy godmother is a manifestation of that strength of will to survive and escape your abuse. She takes the form of a 'godmother' because it implies a maternal figure, this one kind and not abusive, and this is a comfort Cinderella longs for. Truthfully, it affects me. I know now that I was abused as a kid and it was always hard to admit it to myself but I don't have the hope Cinderella did, even though I'm now an adult with a job and my own life. I don't believe in happiness for myself. So I really admire Cinderella, even though I'm a grown man. It's just misogyny, straight up, and I didn't realise it for a long time but I now recognise that she's an incredible character and probably helped many children who were more capable of confronting both what they were going through irl and what Cinderella's story really meant.
Considering how Cinderella was considered as the leader in most iterations of the Princesses together, it's just so perfect that it's now the others cheering her own. I wish Snow was here too tho, she got criticized in so many levels despite only being 14 lol
I'd also like to add: Giselle. (From Enchanted) She wanted to get out of her house and find love only to be instantly hated by her new stepmother. And she had to come to terms with the fact that not all love story's are perfect as her dreams and that the world isn't always gonna be good. But I really loved these comments 🤭
Yeah, no. Snow probably isn't here because she's literally the only princess you can't justify. She was a princess kicked out of the house, crashed in a strangers home and married the man who kissed her in her sleep. Aurora gets leniency for her marriage because at least her prince was actively looking for her and fought a dragon. Snows guy literally just showed up one day. It's so not okay, and the fact that's she's canonically around 14 makes things soooo much worse. She's not a princess she's a tragedy. With no moral or happy ever after in sight, just potential marriage to a stranger.
@@demonheart13 you can see Snow Withe is somehow abused too bc her stepmother (she tried to kill her twice 😅) but she figure it out to be still a kind and good heart person. In the movie also they said the prince was looking for her for so long until he finally finds her. She all the movie dreams about having a live with him and go to a castle, and the 'movie suggest they did!
@@demonheart13plus, is évident they show the Princess who often are praised to tell Cinderella she is as valid as they, so that's why the other princess are not shown (and they wanted to do justice for Ariel as well 😆)
People keep forgetting that Cinderella survived her evil step mother and step sisters. People keep forgetting aswell that Cinderella KNOWS and DOES stand up for herself! Sure her prince was an important part of her story, but it isnt all about the prince! She went to the ball because she WANTED too, falling inlove with the prince was merely an accident!
Ugh, those smug useless celebrities , they don't even attempt to understand stories they just say what's expected if them and the fake audience applauds. I love this, the part with Rapunzel telling her they survived almost made me cry. It was so sweet!
You don't know how much I needed this. It's really sad how people view older princesses, just because they're not as physically strong and skilled as the newer ones. But they missed a couple of things. First, every princess fought for something. Cinderella and Snow White were child abuse victims. They were slaves in their own house, forced to live in rags. And they kept on smiling and hoping for good things to happen. That's why Rapunze's line, "No one can say we aren't strong, we survived", is so meaningful. Would you really blame them for choosing a marriage over a life of slavery and psychological violence? Ariel fought to love who she wanted to love and live the life she wanted to live (the original fairytale was written by Hans Christian Andersen, representing his impossible love story with a man and his queer identity). She chose to be happy with someone she loved in a place she loved, she chose to be free. Loving something and making a sacrifice for it is not a bad thing. Love is not a weakness, nor are kindness and hope. Also, strenght comes in many forms. Of course, there's strenght in saving a country or in fighting with bow and arrows, but there's also strenght in keeping on a smile and a hope for the world to be a good and gentle place, no matter how everything screams that it isn't, no matter how cruel life is. Dusney princesses are amazing and strong and empowering in their own way, and I adore all of them. That's why I'm proud of being a queer girl who wears dresses abd dances her pain away and keeps believing in love. Love to all the people who were involved with this song, because it's amazing!
Or like how they think the only strong one was Mulan, just because she fought and went to war like a man. But she was strong because she wanted to save her father. Her strength came from a place of kindness and love, which are traits associated with femininity. And are traits that princesses like Cinderella and Snow White had too. So yeah, they’re strong just like Mulan, their story just went a different way.
@@jacksont9455 Yeah, exacly. That's also why I hate when people act like Mulan took her father's armor because she wanted to prove something or to start a revolution. She didn't. She didn't fit in the impossible expectations society put her under, but she never hated dresses and makeup. And she HAPPENED to find a place in the army, and she HAPPENED to save China. She just wanted to protect her father. In the end, she's a girl who likes girly things, who's kind and selfless, but she can still put an armor on and fight and save lives. And I honestly love this, because It shows that being a girl mean a lot of things, and those things can coexist. Princesses are different, women are different, and that's amazing.
I’m so angry they replaced Ariel. I’m glad Ariel got 7 new sisters because obviously she still exists but to fire her was wrong. I’m still upset from the shock of it all. I’m not racist but it was a slap in the face to do this to us. If Disney had any sense they’d have the original Ariel meet the new one in the sequel.
@@aspieangel1988 What do you mean with "they replaced her"? I'm not even a big fan of the live action, it was ok to watch, but not an amazing movie. But Ariel had basically the same personality, just a different character design, just like all the characters. She's still bold, and naive and sweet, and Halle Bailey did an amazing job with her. I still prefer the 1989 movie, but Ariel as a character is still fine.
I'm also proud of being a queer girl who wears dresses and dances her pain away and keeps believing in love even though no one would probably fall in love with me.
This! This is what people need to know about princesses. They don’t just sit and wait for their prince charming to come. Cinderella wanted to go to the ball, Ariel wanted to live with the humans, Mulan wanted to prove herself to her family, Anna wants to help her sister as much as she can, Elsa wants to protect her sister just as much, Tiana wanted to open her own restaurant, Jasmine wanted life outside of the castle, Rapunzel as well and still a lot of other princesses alike. They only meet their princes half way through their movie. Cinderella at the ball, Aurora in the woods, Ariel when she saves Eric, Tiana when Naveen came to her in the balcony, Mulan met Shang while being in her father’s place, Anna came across Kristoff while saving her sister. People need to stop stereotyping princesses as damsels in distress. I mean Rapunzel uses a frying pan to hit bad guys, Snow White bosses around seven men and there are a lot of other examples showing that princesses can be badass without being a leader or saving the world. I have been such a Disney Princess girl since small, I remembered going to Disneyland in either my Belle or Snow White dresses and I am honestly disappointed and sad at how princesses are portrayed now, just as some damsel in distress. This is a bit long, but what can I say besides that I like Disney Princess and that they don’t have to be a bad ass girl-boss leader of a castle or nation to make me or anyone else like them.
Well a really Mulan only went to protect her father, because he was going to die in war indefinitely, yes it DID prove herself, and get herself a man, but the only reason she chose to risk her life was because she loved her father so much!❤❤
@@kaeleighrosegold9768 Thank you, I’m glad to know that you also agree that Mulan actually went to the war due to her love for her father who isn’t in any condition to go to the war. Sadly, the 2023 version of Mulan was so flat, if it wasn’t for the action scenes, the movie would have flopped harder. Also for me, just the scene of her not cutting her hair just doesn’t make sense, like I know Chinese people believe that our body is given by our ancestors and cutting hair is like disrespecting our own body but in the context of Mulan who wanted to disguise herself as a man it just doesn’t make sense as all someone had to do was open her hair tie and her true identity will be revealed where as she didn’t want anyone finding that out. Just wished they stick to the og script if they are so scared in offending Chinese, because now, they actually did offend us Chinese by changing too much and adding random ass characters who were never there in the first place and as far as I know there is no legends or myths about witches transforming into birds or anything in Chinese history which makes more of the nonsense Disney added to the film. Mulan is such an iconic Disney Princess, but sadly, Disney didn’t get the moral of her story… or at least they removed everything that made Mulan, well, Mulan.
@@yellow-rose-meshitsukai OMG that movie, I completely forgot about that movie That movie was the trashiest most horrible remake I’ve ever seen Like, where is MUSHU??? And also, at the end they basically just said “you’re able to do this because you were born special, and you actually have ancestral magic” COMPLETELY ignoring and pushing aside the fact that she worked her ASS off to get where she was and pass as a man, let alone being the most respected “man”, but nooo she’s “MaGiCaL”
Can we appreciate Mulan's slightly awkward hand raise at "fighting against the tide"? Loved the old stuff (cough cough avbyte cough cough)and I'm loving the new stuff!
Yass! Tiffany who played her is AWESOME! And thank you for the kind words... was super nervous to make a Princess video. The AVbyte ones are so popular! But I'm so so glad you like it! Thanks for sticking around!!
I love it ! Cinderella survived child abuse for 7y before being " saved " by the prince ( thanks to Godmother) . Ariel had to choose between love and family . Elsa discovered family bond , Anna did ended up married AND queen... They all have strength and default. It's our job to educate children about certain stereotype Disney is showing but let them enjoy old an new movies
I love what you said about Cinderella, the fact that she went through so many years of abuse yet always remained resilient and never let it get to her. If that’s not strength than idk what is.
Yeah, I hate it when people like the girl at the start of the video “like no, save yourself” she basically just victim shamed, as if she COULD, she was living in deep hellish abuse, she was barely getting FEAD! But no just tell her to save herself… which is so ironic because that’s exactly what she did! She didn’t even go to the ball because it was in invitation from the prince, she went cause she wanted to have a good times!
I loved the “Cinderella we survived”. The fact that the two were able to still be nice and kind to even after all they’ve been through. Especially Cinderella. She wasn’t oblivious to the abuse she’s been through and yet she continued to still be kind to others even her step family
Can we all take a minute to appreciate the costumes? Those were spot on! Loving the details! This was such a beautiful musical: from the actors to the cinematography to the singing... Hats off to everone involved!
yesss!! made by TooDarlingBoutique aka TORY!! (google search her, or I think there's a link in the video description?) but yeah they are taking commissions right now if anyone wants anything made!!
This was lovely! As the mother of 4 *very* different girls (including a little "princess-in-training"), this is the message I want to give: that they can do anything and go anywhere that inspires them.
“As if getting on land wasn’t always the plan” Ariel ALWAYS wanted to get on land, she sang part of your world before even meeting prince Eric. He was just a little push for her to finally do it.
you know what i just noticed? the disney princesses being criticized rn (Snow White and cinderella) are victims of abuse. like let’s actually think about that. both princesses were abused by their stepmothers and sure they’re pretty and they got the man but they escaped their abuse and lived their happily ever after. it’s okay to want a prince. it’s okay to be pretty. not every girl wants to be brave and tough and that’s perfectly fine.
I mean, they survived abuse. They are brave and tough. What’s horrific is people say women aren’t brave and tough even when they’ve gone through more than most people just because they’re feminine. :((
@@jfk2428 Wow that’s a lot, all very cute though honestly. Personally I prefer the newer sleeping beauty, centered around Maleficent. Very wholesome and cute, and their mother and daughter bond is so cute to me
@@jfk2428 That’s good too, but I liked that she had found family. It’s always been important to me, I love my family but not everyone gets a real mama. She had something just as good. A real mama, just not by blood. :))
@@abjectmadness1111 Isn't it normal for people to say that? I know I've had people say why I'm living with an abusive parent and not tough enough to leave so I thought that was just normal...
As someone who's named Aurora, this was bittersweet. Aurora is never anyones favorite, she is barely in her own movie. And I hated my name for a long time because who wants to be remembered as the Princess who is only known for sleeping and getting rescued? But as ive grown older, I've thought about Aurora and I realized we were more alike than I'd thought. I am a romantic who likes singing lovesongs, my favorite colors are Sky Blue and Pastel Pink. I love sleeping. When you grow up with a princess name, especially a disney Princess one, it can be rough at times. When you introduce yourself you always hear "Oh like the princess", when people call you princess its always as a tease. But I learned to love my name, and the character I share it with because she just wanted to fall in love and be loved. Still its bittersweet. Snow white and Aurora are both Princesses, but they aren't as beloved. Good video, I enjoyed it.
@jfk2428 Thank you. I didn't know about many of these things and reading them did make me happy. I knew Aurora was named after the Goddess of the Dawn but I never thought of it in that way. Truly, thank you
I've loved Aurora since I was little. In fact, she's been my favorite Disney Princess for a long time. Blue and pink are also my favorite colors and as I've gotten older, I've started to love sleeping and napping as well. I think its the coolest thing to share a name with a Disney Princess and I still wish there was a Disney Princess named Victoria out there.😅
Finally! I've been saying this for awhile now, out of all the things these princesses endured, they still remained hopeful, kind, sweet and innocent. Instead of becoming like their torturers. (who usually had similar things in their past but made different choices) it's easy to become bitter and jaded and want revenge, it's hard to stay innocent and kind when everything goes wrong. Even in today's world when society values the hard, jaded and negative. I've been called a Disney princess cuz I'm always smiling and I look at the positive, and I'm innocent. But it's a choice each and every time, and it's not because I don't see the bad, it's because I know it's there and I can't let it bring me down. Innocence is a choice, not lack of knowledge.
Honestly this brought me to tears!! I’m a homemaker and I’ve often felt judged by other women who ask “how could could I give up my life to serve a man” but I didn’t give up anything, it was my choice. And I’m living my fairy tale ending ❤️ us women need to stick together. We might not always have the same paths or dreams but we have sisterhood and that’s most important.
People always see how the journey ends No one ever cares about the process, like what happened during the journey, how much struggle a person faced. Just because it was a happy ending doesn't mean that their journey was smooth. We seem to forget that Cinderella was the most kindest Disney princess, she knows how to love unconditionally, she suffered & endured patiently, never wished ill for anyone. She was kind to even small animals. She loved her mother & wanted to wear her dress. She wanted to see the world outside of that basement. She is a dreamer. She is a role model for us to be kind even if the world is unkind. She just wanted to see the ball & if the prince came as a plus then what's wrong with that? She just got a bonus that's all! Her beauty, manner, kindness captured the prince's heart. So why is she portrayed as fragile & damsel in distress? She literally endured all those bullyings!
Love this, I hate how people think being feminine or falling in love makes you weak or you’re just “following the standard”, let people be how they want…
I love the callback to the AVByte "Frozen - A Musical" here (2:22), especially in the context of the rest of the song. It feels especially important to emphasize that none of them are being Disney princesses in the "right" or "wrong" way. They all have their own strengths and applications, and that's what makes their stories so compelling :>
I’m crying… thank you for the kind words. I was so so nervous to post a princess video cause I know people would start comparing… Anyways, I’m so glad to be back on the internet making the things I love. Thanks for sticking through this last years and now being part of the pixel playhouse community as well! 🤗🤗🤗
Umm people who criticize the Disney Cinderella clearly didn’t watch the movie. Who broke her out of the attic? Her friends because she took the time to be kind and loving! Good for her!
FINALLY. A song that does these princesses justice. A song that UNDERSTANDS not only them, but also that female empowerment doesn't have to be "I am who I am, I dONt nEEd a mAn." Cough cough, "Cinderella Snapped," cough cough, one of the actual worst songs I've heard, cough cough. I'm glad to see that there's still sensible people out here that respects the choices of women, all across the board.
Oh my gosh I love when Ariel said that getting on land was always the plan. That is something that most people don’t see is that she wasn’t doing it for love at first it was for the adventure and curiosity.
A positive and not preachy message. I love it! So refeshing and also made me think ”finally someone says/gets it” - Thanks! And love all the singers! They look like they are having som much fun 🙂
How many women in today's society that are trapped in a hopeless situation that struggle with depression and anxiety? These princesses didn't allow their circumstances to define how they handle situations mentally, in fact they continued to focus on the positivity in life and always kept their eyes on the light at the end of the tunnel. THAT in itself is inspiring and a true show of strength. Sure they fell in love, it was just a perk.
Fr. Like you can have a badass story and still fall in love. The two aren't mutually exclusive and you don't have to reject your individuality for romance or vice versa. They should go hand in hand, as parts of you.
I legit cried from this. I grew up so inspired my disney princess, and it hurts that so many people are criticizing them in the name of womens rights and "independence". This song was beautiful because it tells the princesses exacty as they are. And exactly how inspiring them and the purpose of theirs stories are.
It’s funny how Cinderella in this video feels like she’s ‘weak’ but SHE LITERALLY CLEANED FOR THREE PEOPLE! AND ANIMALS! AND A CAT! She’s been pulling some weight being strong since the beginning!
Also Cinderella's goal was never to meet the prince. She just wanted to go to the ball and have fun. The price was just a nice bonus :) I love this! And I agree, there is so many ways to be a princess/a woman and we shouldn't look down on others for being different
I recognized the instrumentations right away!! Glad to see Elsa’s growth from ‘I dont need a man’ plus seeing so many cosplayers I admire is always amazing! I gotta go to toodarling’s account to find out how they got that wig so perfect!!
THANK YOU! People who GET it... I wish Disney did, too. Sometime I feel like the magic is being drained... But at least there's magic in the fan projects people make like this one.
I like the line “they say I gave my life for a man as if getting in land wasn’t always the plan, criticize me despise me, cuz they can! But it was my choice that’s what they don’t understand” it’s so true because Ariel always wanted to be on land before she met the prince. The prince was just a push forward to achieve her original dream of being on land
When i was 7 i hated cinderella for not fighting for herself and wait for a prince, now as a 16 year old i learned how hard it must have been for her, when i was younger i didnt understand how people can stand abuse, but reading storys of diffrent people regerding this stuff i learned a lot about her side of the story.
I was casually listening just vibing with it, not my typical type of music so wasn’t overly invested and the Rapunzels line about how they both survived nearly made me cry immediately.
This is the reason why I love Cinderella 3. Not because they “improved” Cinderella’s character, but because it shows how strong and resilient Cinderella’s character already was from the beginning. And if things turned out differently than what happened in the first movie, Cinderella IS strong and she’ll survive just like she’s always had. Whether it’s being resilient and patiently waiting for her and the prince to meet again, or jumping off a deadly pumpkin carriage ride.
I love the line about sharing their stories so others don't feel alone. I feel like because many people don't live through these stories beat for beat, they think the stories are entirely invalid. But to somebody who went through the scenario, or something similar, it's empowering. This is something Disney doesn't understand.
It’s honestly so sad how people think that just because some princesses aren’t “strong” then they are waiting for a man to rescue them. This music video was so needed! Thank you!
24 years ago, Disney released the Disney Princess brand, complete with picture books that failed to deliver nuances that were in the animated movies. 23 years ago, Shrek came out mocking Disney and all of their sacurine values at a time when people were sick of growing tired of Disney thanks to the Disney Princess brand and home media sequels. It became cool to mock Disney then. 10 years ago, Frozen broke the internet with the popular bragging tagline about how Anna and Elsa weren't like other girls-princesses. This music video gives me hope that people have actually sat down and really thought about these timeless tales.
This was so good! I loved rapunzal’s part about how she and Cinderella survived being locked away for so long!!! And Ariel’s part about how she always wanted to be on land, not just because of Eric!! All of these princesses stories are inspiring!
Cinderella and Snow White were able to keep a kind heart despite of their abusive childhood. That requires bravery and a strong heart. Cinderella kept a difiant attitude wherever she can without sacrificing her safety. Snow white took care of strangers in order to hide and survive from her killer. People putting them in a box for choosing to marry a guy and defining their story based off a guy that showed up for less than 10 mins in their movie belittling their life experiences is quite anti-women.
Thank you for making this video. People always hit on Disney princesses because they "waited for a man" when in reality finding a man was further from their actual dream. They liked the idea, but it wasn't their intention of general drive. Thank for bringing their stories to light. Also side note, the woman from the interview from the beginning clearly doesn't know the story of Cinderella.
wow i actually unironically liked this that was so wholesome and genuine idk how big companies can keep missing the mark when small creators like you all can create this gem
I feel like Cinderella is really brave in the second and third movie. In the second she was brave enough to disobey the King's orders. In the third movie when her stepmother told her to stay away from the castle, she immediately went to the castle. And when she stole the wand was pretty brave
Though Jaq and Gus saved Cinderella, they couldn't have saved themselves from Lady Tremaine's cat Lucifer. If it weren't for Cinderella who told her birds to call out Bruno the dog to chase Lucifer out of the match, the mice never would've managed to help Cinderella. Though Tremaine destroyed Cinderella's slipper, she had the second one in store all along. Cinderella didn't win the match with muscle, but she won with brians. And brains are much stronger than muscle I'd say. She was using her head.
I love mulan’s line because people forget that in the original mulan movie, she didn’t fight like a man. She fought like a woman. And in the end, her feminine way of fighting is exactly what saved the day.
There's actually is a lot of strength in Cinderellas kindness, after all she went through, the abuse and isolation, her kindness of heart its almost an act of rebellion.
Cinderella is one of my fav Princess. I love Mulan and Merida and Rapunzel. But something about Cinderella just being able to rebel one night and take life in her own hands by her choice alone, it makes me feel seen
I absolutely love the dynamic between Elsa and Cinderella. Elsa is incredibly respectful and recognizes the value of marriage, while realizing that there was much more to Cinderella than her happy ending. Also, realizing that others can get married, to be supportive of them, but then to realize that she doesn't need marriage to make her happy. Also Mulan: "Whether brawny or bridal, my heart defines me for who I am." And Rapunzel: "No one can say we aren't strong..."
I’m glad you guys made this. It’s so perfect for what’s going on. Everyone lives a different way in the same sense that everyone loves a different way. We just have to remember that.
I can’t help but remember princess rap battles, this reminds me of how much I liked each princesses rap which were always still in character but also reminded me of how each princess was badass in their own way, if you haven’t watched any pleaseee watch some it was literally my whole childhood
I adore the fact that someone went through the trouble of making Merida's costume and styling her hair and whatnot just to have her appear for 3 seconds and say "oh, I don't sing". I love it.
I love that you guys are standing up to this! Woman can be strong and still fall in love. I hate that I keep being told I I’m only with something if I’m a girlboss and a man makes me weak
I JUST saw Zippys tiktok about how she ended up being Merida in her partner's princess video bc she had a non singing line and that's what they talked about when they first started dating! I had no idea I actually would see the video but it came up on my recommended page. I loved it, this was so cute 😭😭
Honestly tho pretty much all the princess weren’t looking for a love interest, they were going after their own desires and they fell in love along the way which I think is probably the best part because it show that self desires aren’t as important as finding a good person to love you and make you a better person
I loved this soooo much!!!! I wish that everyone in the entire world will see this. As someone who is still growing up with the princesses and having people today tear them down makes me so sad. But seeing how beautiful this is makes me so happy!!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹👑👑👑👑
Thank you for sharing. Trust me when it came to the news, the generation idea of a Disney Princess, and a new Disney Princess “theme song” talking about a princess strength, I too have been feeling down on how I need to be all tough, girl-boss like. Because I am not, I try to be kind hearted, gentle, and sometimes dreamy of romance.
CInderella isn't very different from Rapunzel who wanted to go outside. She wanted to have fun at the ball. So yeah, we can argue if the story is interesting or not, but she isn't a bad princess cause she ended with a man (unitentionally at all) and didn't really have to fight for it. She has her quality and stuggles. That's enough.
and cinderella 3 her sequel she actually fought more for her happy ending then just going to a ball. one of the best disney sequels and disney movies in general.
Honestly yeah. The only differences between Rapunzel and Cinderella in the beginning, is the way they were abused, Cinderella was worked like a slave, Rapunzel was neglected and completely isolated, both were emotionally abused and trapped.
I really love Mulans line where she says “whether brawny or bridal my heart defines me for who I am” because even though she is known for fighting and being a veteran, she also got married like some of the other princesses

See this is what Disney doesn’t understand. Being feminine and falling in love does not make any princess or person any “weaker”
You are 100 percent right
Unfortunately, Disney is doing this stuff because a lot of people were criticizing the Princess movies and they were trying to appeal them.
@@brushidobee2233ikr
yep. they (and many other companies and people) think that for a female character to be strong, she needs to fight well and be confident (which often turns into her being a flat, evil character with little redeeming qualities) = basically be more traditionally masculine. but that's not at all the case. it's possible to be comfortable with and strong through your femininty, just like with masculinity
@@brushidobee2233 Appeal them by making it worse?

Having kids and wanting to care for them or getting married doesn’t change that for me 😊
I guess our princess metaphor is pretty thin, haha! exactly! Strength comes in many many different shapes and forms.
Yeah!
it’s hardwired in our DNA as women to care for the family, home and children. we’re meant to be nurturers, men meant to be protectors. women struggle with feeling negative emotions more since because we primarily care for the children, we need to be able to detect threats better than men. we are more emotional, which helps to empathize and raise children better.
we are meant to be mothers. yes it’s not for every woman in 2023, not every person should even have children.
a woman should never be shamed for choosing the job we are meant to do.

So maybe let's actually start valuing diversity in female characters for once!!
there are so many ways to be strong!
@@PixelPlayhouse Indeed!
Aurora being woken up by the Prince allowed her to be a great ruler to her kingdom And wake up everybody else Snow White was so little in age that her being able to escape the huntsman was brave and itself
Rapunzel outside of tangled and entangled escaped abusive home who cares about the man who helped her
And even if all these women we’re technically saved by a man who cares
If they want a classic feminist hero look to all the other princesses
God bless women like her for her kindness
either way the godmother and Cinderella is the main great characters
Cinderella is strong from surviving herself from the abuse
the fairy godmother gave Cinderella a chance to go see the world there may cr
The way I see it, the fairy godmother is more of a metaphor, and it's ultimately all about Cinderella's strength.
Cinderella's heroic quality is her kindness and hope in the face of a seemingly inescapable abusive home, and the fairy godmother comes to her *because* she's got such a good heart and the ability to pull through her suffering. In a way the fairy godmother feels like a representation of Cinderella's own kindness and optimism - because she believes in a world where she can heal and be happy, magic becomes real, and that magic lets her go to the ball and find love and a *family that loves her* (this is such an important part or what the prince provides that is so tragically ignored... she gets married into a new family where she is treated well.)
Cinderella is a story about how if you keep living on and believing you *can* be happy someday and value your own future, you can pull through.
I'd also like to add:
Giselle.
@@demonheart13plus, is évident they show the Princess who often are praised to tell Cinderella she is as valid as they, so that's why the other princess are not shown (and they wanted to do justice for Ariel as well 😆)
Snow White is not 14 in canon. There is no evidence other than an art book saying that the inspiration for her design was of a 14 year old
I love it! The end is brilliant... cool to include Merida, but not singing. Love the message of the song!

Fr
Well a really Mulan only went to protect her father, because he was going to die in war indefinitely, yes it DID prove herself, and get herself a man, but the only reason she chose to risk her life was because she loved her father so much!❤❤
And you put it beautifully ❤
Mulan is such an iconic Disney Princess, but sadly, Disney didn’t get the moral of her story… or at least they removed everything that made Mulan, well,
Mulan.

I think its the coolest thing to share a name with a Disney Princess and I still wish there was a Disney Princess named Victoria out there.😅
Thank you! Ariel even sang part of that world before meeting Eric. She wanted to see the surface world from the beginning
Why did I start crying uncontrollably at “ cinderella, we survived.” 🥺😭😭😭😭 that hit me so hard
People always see how the journey ends
No one ever cares about the process, like what happened during the journey, how much struggle a person faced.
So snowhite actually they are equally kind
Love this, I hate how people think being feminine or falling in love makes you weak or you’re just “following the standard”, let people be how they want…
I love the callback to the AVByte "Frozen - A Musical" here (2:22), especially in the context of the rest of the song. It feels especially important to emphasize that none of them are being Disney princesses in the "right" or "wrong" way. They all have their own strengths and applications, and that's what makes their stories so compelling :>
this is like old school AVbyte but elevated to an entire other level

the "we survived" is so powerful - i love this
How many women in today's society that are trapped in a hopeless situation that struggle with depression and anxiety? These princesses didn't allow their circumstances to define how they handle situations mentally, in fact they continued to focus on the positivity in life and always kept their eyes on the light at the end of the tunnel. THAT in itself is inspiring and a true show of strength. Sure they fell in love, it was just a perk.
As someone who experienced what's essentially being locked in a tower as a kid, what Rapunzel said hit me hard
Fr. Like you can have a badass story and still fall in love. The two aren't mutually exclusive and you don't have to reject your individuality for romance or vice versa. They should go hand in hand, as parts of you.
The fact that people are like
"YOU FELL IN LOVE SO YOU ARE HORRIBLE"
makes me so mad like i cant-
I legit cried from this.
Not to mention and teasing and abuse from her brand new family
Also Cinderella's goal was never to meet the prince. She just wanted to go to the ball and have fun. The price was just a nice bonus :)
I love this!
Merida coming in at the end was just gold, along with the whole song.
This is something Disney doesn't understand.
i wish this was on spotify 😭😭 absolutely love the song!🩷
The Merida thing was fantastic guys. I only wish that Belle, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Pochahantas were included.
I love that the narrator is jessica kaylee 0:03 im such a big fan of hers💅💅💅💅
“Cinderella, we survived” OH BOI THAT HIT DIFFERENT I AM LITERALLY CRYING MY EYES OUT
Awww sending you a big hug! So glad you liked the video! Can’t wait to make more!
It’s honestly so sad how people think that just because some princesses aren’t “strong” then they are waiting for a man to rescue them. This music video was so needed! Thank you!
The way tiana said 'how could I not notice when a hot Prince hoped my way' was perfect
This was such a fun day!! So excited to finally see it all come together 🥳🩵✨
Cassidy!!! You are an amazing Cinderella! Thanks for jumping in so last minute and bringing so much to this! Can’t wait to make more!!!!
This was so good! I loved rapunzal’s part about how she and Cinderella survived being locked away for so long!!! And Ariel’s part about how she always wanted to be on land, not just because of Eric!! All of these princesses stories are inspiring!
👑👑👑👑👑
0:35 that high note is pure gold
Cassidy is an amazing vocalist!!!
„Cinderella we survived“ gave me actual goosebumps. This is amazing, great work you guys
I love this music video! 👑💕
I want to see the sequel where Snow White and Princess Aurora also appear!
There's actually is a lot of strength in Cinderellas kindness, after all she went through, the abuse and isolation, her kindness of heart its almost an act of rebellion.
Yessssss
Cinderella is one of my fav Princess. I love Mulan and Merida and Rapunzel. But something about Cinderella just being able to rebel one night and take life in her own hands by her choice alone, it makes me feel seen
2:20 SHE DID THE ICONIC ELSA WALK. THAT IS COMMITMENT
I immediately recognized Tiffany from your Raya Musical! She’s an amazing mulan
yasss! love her!
This is fantastic!! Well done to everyone, such an important and beautiful message - and beautiful princesses too!✨
Thank you so much!! 👑👑👑
I feel like I've been waiting my whole life to hear this song ❤💜💙💛💚 just be you
Jess is the NARRATOR OMG best collab I love both of you guys
This video’s vibe turns me back into my childhood when I watched “Enchanted”
I’m glad you guys made this. It’s so perfect for what’s going on. Everyone lives a different way in the same sense that everyone loves a different way. We just have to remember that.
Ok but ngl I teared up a bit at “Cinderella, we survived”
Awww 🤗🤗🤗
1:20 best part (Mulan
I love this so much with all of this girl empowerment, its just amazing and the musical is *Chef's kiss*
💗💗💗
I can’t help but remember princess rap battles, this reminds me of how much I liked each princesses rap which were always still in character but also reminded me of how each princess was badass in their own way, if you haven’t watched any pleaseee watch some it was literally my whole childhood
I adore the fact that someone went through the trouble of making Merida's costume and styling her hair and whatnot just to have her appear for 3 seconds and say "oh, I don't sing". I love it.
I’m actually glad this was made, sometimes a story doesn’t have to have a fighting female lead
I love that you guys are standing up to this! Woman can be strong and still fall in love. I hate that I keep being told I I’m only with something if I’m a girlboss and a man makes me weak
I love Ariel lines when she says like get on land wasn’t ALWAYS the plan
I JUST saw Zippys tiktok about how she ended up being Merida in her partner's princess video bc she had a non singing line and that's what they talked about when they first started dating! I had no idea I actually would see the video but it came up on my recommended page. I loved it, this was so cute 😭😭
🤗🤗🤗 and can you believe it, we’re getting married NEXT WEEKEND!!!
@@PixelPlayhouse AAAA THAT'S SO EXCITING! congrats!!! 🥹🥹❤️
💖💖💖💖💖💖🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹👑👑👑👑
the casting was amazing especially Ariel
Yes!
👑👑👑👑👑👑👑
2:40 is when Merida comes one (why is that my favorite part????)
I love this 0:42 parts so much
CInderella isn't very different from Rapunzel who wanted to go outside. She wanted to have fun at the ball. So yeah, we can argue if the story is interesting or not, but she isn't a bad princess cause she ended with a man (unitentionally at all) and didn't really have to fight for it. She has her quality and stuggles. That's enough.
🤝
and cinderella 3 her sequel she actually fought more for her happy ending then just going to a ball. one of the best disney sequels and disney movies in general.
Honestly yeah. The only differences between Rapunzel and Cinderella in the beginning, is the way they were abused, Cinderella was worked like a slave, Rapunzel was neglected and completely isolated, both were emotionally abused and trapped.
@@MsLilly200 I think as far as Rapunzel goes, Mother Gothel used gaslighting which she paraded as "Love" in order to keep Rapunzel in the tower.
I genuinely loved this whole thing and was playing this on repeat.
