It amazes me, as a novas 35mm projectionist, how the projector manufacturers can come up with so many variations on threading path, to do the exact same thing, down to the frame! :)

It certainly is pretty amazing, Todd! I wish they were still more common today though.

Thanks for commenting, Designsbyg. I’ve been watching your videos for about a year now, your booth setup is phenomenal.
The booth shown in this video is at a cinema located in Newtown, Sydney called “Dendy Cinemas”. Although I do wish I had a vic 5 setup in my home, that may be a plan for the future.
Once again, I greatly appreciate your comment and your videos. Thanks for keeping film alive with your magnificent home cinema!

Wonderful stuff. Just saw this film myself, really enjoyed it. Made me nostalgic for when I worked at a theater over 20 years ago.

glad to hear you enjoyed the film. although it would have been a lot better if they shot the movie on 35mm, having a 35mm digitally sourced print is still nice. Thanks for watching and commenting, Cody!

Love this film.. as it was one of my local cinemas growing up. The Dreamland cinema in Margate. It was a massive thing when this was released for the town, Gala screening at a nearby cinema with Red Carpet, and was attended by Olivia Colman, Toby Jones and Sam Mendes. The area used as the upstairs where they found the pigeon used to be a Chinese Oriental Buffet restaurant the last time I went there,

I miss the sound of the projector and the hazy beam of light at the movie theater.

I won't to see this film. How you get 35mm prints. Are there no digital projectors in that cinema?

This cinema does have a digital projector, but they are running Empire of Light on film at the moment because it is having a special limited run at some theatres on special 35mm prints. Some movies nowadays get 35mm and 70mm prints for special events, and this was one of them.
      Thanks for watching, Trevor!

@@ClarkTeddles I wonder how many are struck from actual negatives or just 4K digital images?
I'd love to see a genuine 35mm presentation again.
I'm hoping to see Inception and the Dark Knight Trilogy in 70mm presentation at the IMAX soon.
John is there today to watch Tenet.
Keep up the good work Clark.

@@doublebillmovies these 35mm prints were struck from a 4K digital source. The movie itself was shot at 4K. Seeing a genuine 35mm print that is struck photochemically truly does look phenomenal.
Perhaps you and John might meet up at one of the screenings? I’m sure John will try his best to make it to almost every screening. Chances are he will be at the dark knight trilogy.
Funnily enough I’m actually typing this comment while in the intermission for 2001 a space odyssey on 70mm.
Cheers, thanks for commenting, Trevor! Have a great day
