If I made an super smash bros cinematic universe, I would have 3 Kirby movies with 3 villains: KIRBY: DREAM LAND = KING DEDEDE KIRBY: RETURN TO DREAM LAND = GALACTA KNIGHT KIRBY: BATTLE FOR DREAM LAND = MARX
The whole Kirby series is pretty ambiguous on the whole "evil" thing - its villains are typically either tragic, so simplistic that they can't really be seen as more than forces of nature, or too mysterious to really judge. Even Dark Matter is driven by mainly by loneliness and really just wants a friend.
... Dark Matter wants friends?!? Zero wanted friends?!?!? The only Dark Matter that was friendly was Gooey. However, it's said that Dark Matter chose to take the appearance of a strong and honorable warrior, so it was either to have a positive image or a mean for deception.
I think it's pretty clever to leave it like that. It gets boring if it's too black-and-white. Villains are usually rather tragic, and I really like how the Kirby games show how many of them can change for the better. We just shouldn't expect all of them to change. That part is realistic and I love it. I haven't play all Kirby games, but I have enjoyed the ones I have played.
@@Gazing-09 Not Zero, just Dark Matter. The character, not the species. Zero himself is just pure evil and menace. Dark Matter took over the Rainbow Isles in DL2 because he resented their peace and friendliness, since he wished for such things, yet they elude him. In DL3, Zero takes over Pop Star just to take control, with no other motivation than raw evil. In K64, he takes over Ripple Star with the same motivation. In Kirby 64 he's depicted as the king and source of evil in the universe, he takes the form of a fallen Seraph angel, which makes him a strong parallel to Lucifer. Some may see Zero just being raw evil as very simplistic compared to the other characters, and that's because it is. But there's a strength in that simplicity. Kirby himself is a very simplistic character motivated by pure good will, and in that sense Zero is his perfect antithesis.
Void is literally the Greyest Kirby characrer as it’s litterally middle ground between being a pure being (Kirby) or the source of all evil (Dark Matter), unlike the other characters
@@InumiDarkness The best way to describe Void is to compare it to Azathoth, the Blind Idiot Creator and Destroyer Outer God. Void is a most likely non sentient force of creation and destruction, given that it is the source of basically everything in the Kirby universe.
Kirby villains have went from a fat penguin with a hammer to genocidal AI, bleeding eyeballs, flaming eyeballs, a once-fair queen driven insane by a mirror, and the lord of the underworld himself.
He's pretty mean and selfish in Right Back at Ya! and he's technically the main antagonist in the games, but I guess he's a lot more good compared to Bowser, Dr. Eggman, or Dr. Cortex.

As a diehard Kirby fan, I commend you for really doing your homework on this one. Seeing someone remark about Dark Matter being the main overarching villain of the entire franchise besides me really puts a smile on my face.
Yeah I don't care what anyone says I was happy to have him return to being an ally. He was my favorite character. ... Though his boss fight is pretty epic. And let's face it. Using him to summon black holes in star allies is really really fun.

I will put Dark Mind a little up, over Queen Sectonia. It is the "mirror" self of Zero and it can't not only corrupt the mind of whoever looks at the mirror, but also posses them like Dark Matter(mirror king dedede and the mirror of nightmare) one corrupts the soul and the other one the mind . Queen Sectonia just wanted a mirror, not a conquer galaxies. I'm surprised at how comprehensive this list is, along with how you kept it to one continuity. Very thorough. Although, I will say that you might be a little off on your descriptions of Void: it's more likely that Void is the ancestor to Dark Matter, and not the other way around.

Oh, thank GOD someone mentioned the Japanese version of Susie. I see a lot of confusion about that, and I can legitimately, honestly appreciate that you guys brought that up.
The japanese version of Kirby holds a lot of nuance and detail. It's where we got the detail that Zan wanted to kill herself and how Morpho Knight is apparently a grim reaper of sorts. Also where Void is a creator of "4 matters".
Kinda frustrated he didn't do the same with Marx, who, in the japanese version of Star Allies, isn't driven into helping Kirb by hungry but 'cause Void is a bigger danger than him, so he pulled an enemy mine.
Marx isn't reformed though; In the original Japanese version, he's only helping Kirby out in Star Allies because the threat of VOID was too big to ignore.
To be fair. Marx is implied to be friends with Magolor and he's one of the more lighthearted foes in Hal's depictions of him. It's fair to say that Marx is a neutral entity, especially when he's a star ally that absolutely had fun messing around with Kirby and co.
You still don't get right back to fighting him after Void is defeated, with the only exception being during the credits in some modes. Even then, you can't even die during that and is just a nice little bonus.

If I remember he gave dream friends free passes by putting them as redeemed or grey. Saying Taranza only followed orders of Sectonia because they were devoted to her even though Taranza was put under a spell when Sectonia thought ''The Amazing Mirror'' would make her look beautiful which when Sectonia was turned evil that is when she put Taranza under a spell. Dark Meta Knight for some reason isn't on this list although Meta Knight is. Instead of calling the Metaknightmares Metaknightmare he only called them a ''mode.'' and Dark Nebula is literally one of the easiest bosses in squeak squad if not the easiest. I would like to know if I missed anything.
i like the execution of this trope in Forgotten Land, but honestly i want them to play this Dedede thing differently next time, instead of being cursed/possesed, i want somebody to trick him into fighting Kirby. No possesion but manipulation.
I feel he's like Bowser somewhat. Not totally evil, unknown motives, a person who sometimes causes bad things but is frequently manipulated into being possessed by parasites half of the time. I think. Like the Yeerks from Animorphs (The Book Series)
I feel like Bandana Dee could've been included in the reformed category. He was an enemy in Revenge of the King, but much like Taranza, he was only an enemy out of loyalty to his master and didnt have any personal beef with Kirby.
Good video! But i would like to note some things 1. The "aeon hero" galacta knight was, was one of the 4 heroes mentioned in the pause screen of hyness' hooded phase of the ultimate choice, who sealed void termina with the 4 heart spears, you can see this by the fact that in japanese, gk is instead referred to as "the hero who crossed the origin" in skc, while void is referred to as the origin in some ksa pause screen, also by the fact he uses the heart spears in his final dark form instead of the sword bullets, and a whole buncha other stuff too 2. You kinda forgot to mention drawcia had a sister separated at birth but eh it was irrelevant to the topic 3. Hyness was not corrupted by dark matter, he just went insane by reading into the book of legend, later on though, that does technically happen as void does end up absorbing him into a giant jamba heart 4. The whole "void was evil cuz of hyness' influence" theory is false, the jamba heart was already filled with darkness aeons before hyness even got there, and there wouldve been no point for the 4 to seal void if he wasnt evil in the first place, the pause screen that hints at that is just bad localization if i remember correctly 5. Void is not influenced by dark matter, rather just random negative energy that got to him for no absolute reason and hasnt been explained yet Also, honestly, the most evil villain to me is star dream, they not only killed haltmann, but were the cause of susie going missing in the first place, losing her entire childhood I guess a close second would be dark mind, since in tkcd he was shown to be alive by posessing/living in other beings, and the reason sectonia got corrupted, which led to her death, so yeah They are the only 2 kirby villains that actually straight up KILLED people, which is why im still confused as to why you gave dark matter the #1 spot... they may have killed people, but we dont know that yet
Star Dream was not the cause of Susie going missing. It is reasonable to assume that after booting up Star Dream the Haltmann's were put through the admin test, leading to the summoning of Galacta Knight. This led to Susanna going to Another Dimension.
I feel like you should have talked about Dark Meta Knight more. He kickstarted the plots of Amazing Mirror and Triple Deluxe. In the former, he acts as the secondary villain and in the latter, he or Dark Mind might have caused Sectonia to go insane if you count Dedede Tour as canon
all the problems are true but i don't think star dream should be one, maybe two or three but not so much, dark matter is litteraly a force of the universe created by negativity, they are 100% evil even if some of them can with good influence (dark matter swordsman, gooey, void) became close of kirby species. they're just a dark matter who wanted the universe being as dark as them.

Not the biggest Kirby guy but I always loved the earlier games. I'll just share a fun fact I like. The Dark Matter in Dreamland 2 attacked because they grew lonely and no one wanted to be their friend. It's always fun when simple platformers give their villians a little bit of a backstory even in the less story orientated ones like Kirby.
And I think the Sun and Moon was arguing about Kirby and King Dedede extremely badly as Marx asking for food I think was probably the straw that broke the camel's back.
The amount of research put into this is refreshing. I was almost for certain Susie was going to be credited as continuing to mechanize planets (a feat that, based on Haltmann's backstory, is actually improbable, no... impossible without the use of Star Dream, which was destroyed in Kirby: Planet Robobot), leaving me in the comments to have to explain the mistakes Nintendo Treehouse made in translation, but it turned out the research (a quick visit to the Kirby wiki) was done. A level of research I almost NEVER see these days within the Nintendo community since the Switch launched. Especially considering Sakurai, best known for Smash, created and kickstarted the Kirby franchise, and yet I still see even Smash fans calling King Dedede and Meta Knight "main villains" instead of former rivals turned heroes or claiming that Marx has a higher record of importance to the franchise than Bandana Waddle Dee.
Haltmann should have been in the same spot as Sectonia. He was no longer himself either and became so imperialist, bigoted, and greedy that he was gonna Tucker very thing up regardless of him not being like that at one point.
In the Bad Boss Brothers picture, Gryll from Super Star Stacker can be seen, so I would assume Gryll would be on this list, probably one the Dishonorable mentions because Gryll isn’t really malicious.
Yeah, after finishing the video, I thought that I had to have missed DMK, since his malice and hatred was the entire reason why Sectonia was corrupted in the first place, and even his Pause description in Star Allies doesn't give much indication that he's been genuinely reformed.

It was the Dimensional Mirror from the Mirror World. From amazing mirror. Taranza stole it from the Mirror World, and gave it as a gift to (Not-a-queen-at-the-time) Sectonia. But after the events of Amazing Mirror, Dark Meta Knight was imprisoned in the mirror. While the Mirror did perfectly imprisoned Dark Meta Knight, this allowed him to corrupt his prison with his hatred. So when Sectonia got the Dimensional Mirror, Dark Meta Knight slowly changed her when she gazed into his prison day after day. Influenceing her into using magic to make herself more beautiful in the bee form. Susie is Haltman's daughter. When Susie was teleported by Star Dream in an accident, she was sent to Another Dimension. Where the Parallel forms and Sphere Doomers live. The Helmet that controls Star Dream Haltman used, it also stopped Star Dream from controlling him, but at a cost which was, it removed his memories, Due to Star Dream being incomplete by not being conected with the Access Ark which is really part of Star Dream. (Star Dream itself (The super computer) is it's brain, and The Access Ark is Star Dream's body. Both together is really a NOVA. A clockwork Star. When Susie came back, he couldn't even remember he HAD a daughter. Also, Void Termina is the ORIGIN of Dark matter. But the original of all matter. Good or bad

I find it strange that you'll clear up minor misconceptions about Dark Nebula, yet proceed to believe a major misconception about Dark Meta Knight. Sectonia was always a narcissist, even outright based on the myth of Narcissus, and he just happens to have been a product of the same cursed mirror she fell in love with. In fact, the developers even explained that Dark Meta Knight is included in Dededetour! because it made more sense than to just shoehorn Galacta Knight in again.

My favorite conspiracy about Magolor is as follows. It’s known that the Master Crown is sentient or controlled by something sentient (maybe Dark Matter or Void Termina), but the theory suggests that the crown was actually calling to the most powerful being in Halcandra, that being Landia. Landia was obviously able to suppress the Crown’s power to an extent, so it called to the second most powerful, which is Magolor.
To add, following the release of Forgotten Land: -Leon/Leongar: Good/redeemed (Was being controlled by Fecto Forgo, didn't take any convincing to be nice with Kirby once he got freed from the mind control. Joining in on the victory dance after being freed nets him extra points) -Morpho Knight: Wild card (He just kinda shows up, absorbs Soul Forgo, and then takes their place as the boss fight. He's basically Galacta Knight 2.0) -Fecto Forgo and other forms: True evil (The only nice thing it ever did was put a small part of it's soul into Elfilin to go be nice after Kirby defeated it a second time in the final arena. Hardly a redemption)

(I wish you touched on Nightmare from the anime a bit tho as an honorable mention to Nightmare mostly cuz I just wanna see his deeds in the anime being FINALLY documented cuz he is quite a tyrant, causing a literal war and being the center of all the tragedies there.)
Why is Magolor above Taranza? I think trying to conquer the universe outweighs what Taranza did. Hell, he's not really caused that many problems (on purpose) on his own. I'd argue that Dedede was worse than Taranza
Taranza willingly went with Sectonia's issues and has the capability of causing problems out of grief (Super Kirby Clash). Dedede is absolutely better than Taranza since he proved himself as hero for a long time. Magolor had more time to redeem himself and apologize, Taranza just needs more time and game appearances.

Just note, the power to destroy planets does not mean pure evil. For example, from a great game, there are these 11 entities that have absurd power, like if two fought it would be damaging to the solar system. But, one of these 11 unknowns have just stopped a very evil person who did destroy the earth a bit.

Susie is in the Redeem actually, the part of still mechanizing planets in Star Allies is a misstranslation, in LP is using machines to help planets, more or less and Magalor and Marx... I wouldnt put them in that category, yes, Gray may fit, but I would say something a bit more... darker, Marx does not feel remorse for its actions and the Cristal Apples Magalor collects are said to possed great power and that no body knows why Magalor wants with them, much less why so many
And I love the whole "Knight of Cerebus" theme in Kirby, a mix of extremely lighthearted atmospheres and songs and rainbows, and pure evil villains, from dark forms like Nightmare, Dark Mind (basically Sauron), and Dark Nebula (ruler of the underworld) to Zero (a world anathema to light) to the undead Necrodeus to a tyrannical and cruel queen to universe-destroyers like Star Dream and Void Termina that make Thanos look tame (the latter being a god awakened by a creepy deranged cult leader). And mostly isn't shy about killing off the most evil ones (Nightmare, Zero/02, Dark Mind, Drawcia, Dark Nebula, Yin-Yarn, Necrodeus, Queen Sectonia, Dark Crafter, Star Dream, and Void Termina)

The whole Kirby series is pretty ambiguous on the whole "evil" thing - its villains are typically either tragic, so simplistic that they can't really be seen as more than forces of nature, or too mysterious to really judge. Even Dark Matter is driven by mainly by loneliness and really just wants a friend.

The only Dark Matter that was friendly was Gooey. However, it's said that Dark Matter chose to take the appearance of a strong and honorable warrior, so it was either to have a positive image or a mean for deception.
I think it's pretty clever to leave it like that. It gets boring if it's too black-and-white. Villains are usually rather tragic, and I really like how the Kirby games show how many of them can change for the better. We just shouldn't expect all of them to change. That part is realistic and I love it. I haven't play all Kirby games, but I have enjoyed the ones I have played.

@@Gazing-09 Not Zero, just Dark Matter. The character, not the species. Zero himself is just pure evil and menace. Dark Matter took over the Rainbow Isles in DL2 because he resented their peace and friendliness, since he wished for such things, yet they elude him. In DL3, Zero takes over Pop Star just to take control, with no other motivation than raw evil. In K64, he takes over Ripple Star with the same motivation. In Kirby 64 he's depicted as the king and source of evil in the universe, he takes the form of a fallen Seraph angel, which makes him a strong parallel to Lucifer.
Some may see Zero just being raw evil as very simplistic compared to the other characters, and that's because it is. But there's a strength in that simplicity. Kirby himself is a very simplistic character motivated by pure good will, and in that sense Zero is his perfect antithesis.

I will put Dark Mind a little up, over Queen Sectonia. It is the "mirror" self of Zero and it can't not only corrupt the mind of whoever looks at the mirror, but also posses them like Dark Matter(mirror king dedede and the mirror of nightmare) one corrupts the soul and the other one the mind . Queen Sectonia just wanted a mirror, not a conquer galaxies.
Damn I will put him over nightmare (Zero 2 over nightmare too) because Dark Mind and Zero are like a parasite in the galaxy, it will consume everything, even the ones who try to conquer the galaxy... also Necrodious just hates light.

Oh, thank GOD someone mentioned the Japanese version of Susie. I see a lot of confusion about that, and I can legitimately, honestly appreciate that you guys brought that up.
The japanese version of Kirby holds a lot of nuance and detail. It's where we got the detail that Zan wanted to kill herself and how Morpho Knight is apparently a grim reaper of sorts. Also where Void is a creator of "4 matters".

Marx isn't reformed though; In the original Japanese version, he's only helping Kirby out in Star Allies because the threat of VOID was too big to ignore.

To be fair. Marx is implied to be friends with Magolor and he's one of the more lighthearted foes in Hal's depictions of him. It's fair to say that Marx is a neutral entity, especially when he's a star ally that absolutely had fun messing around with Kirby and co.
You still don't get right back to fighting him after Void is defeated, with the only exception being during the credits in some modes. Even then, you can't even die during that and is just a nice little bonus.

If I remember he gave dream friends free passes by putting them as redeemed or grey. Saying Taranza only followed orders of Sectonia because they were devoted to her even though Taranza was put under a spell when Sectonia thought ''The Amazing Mirror'' would make her look beautiful which when Sectonia was turned evil that is when she put Taranza under a spell. Dark Meta Knight for some reason isn't on this list although Meta Knight is. Instead of calling the Metaknightmares Metaknightmare he only called them a ''mode.'' and Dark Nebula is literally one of the easiest bosses in squeak squad if not the easiest. I would like to know if I missed anything.

i like the execution of this trope in Forgotten Land, but honestly i want them to play this Dedede thing differently next time, instead of being cursed/possesed, i want somebody to trick him into fighting Kirby. No possesion but manipulation.
I feel he's like Bowser somewhat. Not totally evil, unknown motives, a person who sometimes causes bad things but is frequently manipulated into being possessed by parasites half of the time. I think. Like the Yeerks from Animorphs (The Book Series)

I feel like Bandana Dee could've been included in the reformed category. He was an enemy in Revenge of the King, but much like Taranza, he was only an enemy out of loyalty to his master and didnt have any personal beef with Kirby.

Good video! But i would like to note some things
1. The "aeon hero" galacta knight was, was one of the 4 heroes mentioned in the pause screen of hyness' hooded phase of the ultimate choice, who sealed void termina with the 4 heart spears, you can see this by the fact that in japanese, gk is instead referred to as "the hero who crossed the origin" in skc, while void is referred to as the origin in some ksa pause screen, also by the fact he uses the heart spears in his final dark form instead of the sword bullets, and a whole buncha other stuff too
2. You kinda forgot to mention drawcia had a sister separated at birth but eh it was irrelevant to the topic
3. Hyness was not corrupted by dark matter, he just went insane by reading into the book of legend, later on though, that does technically happen as void does end up absorbing him into a giant jamba heart
4. The whole "void was evil cuz of hyness' influence" theory is false, the jamba heart was already filled with darkness aeons before hyness even got there, and there wouldve been no point for the 4 to seal void if he wasnt evil in the first place, the pause screen that hints at that is just bad localization if i remember correctly
5. Void is not influenced by dark matter, rather just random negative energy that got to him for no absolute reason and hasnt been explained yet
Also, honestly, the most evil villain to me is star dream, they not only killed haltmann, but were the cause of susie going missing in the first place, losing her entire childhood
I guess a close second would be dark mind, since in tkcd he was shown to be alive by posessing/living in other beings, and the reason sectonia got corrupted, which led to her death, so yeah
They are the only 2 kirby villains that actually straight up KILLED people, which is why im still confused as to why you gave dark matter the #1 spot... they may have killed people, but we dont know that yet

Star Dream was not the cause of Susie going missing. It is reasonable to assume that after booting up Star Dream the Haltmann's were put through the admin test, leading to the summoning of Galacta Knight. This led to Susanna going to Another Dimension.
I feel like you should have talked about Dark Meta Knight more. He kickstarted the plots of Amazing Mirror and Triple Deluxe. In the former, he acts as the secondary villain and in the latter, he or Dark Mind might have caused Sectonia to go insane if you count Dedede Tour as canon
all the problems are true but i don't think star dream should be one, maybe two or three but not so much, dark matter is litteraly a force of the universe created by negativity, they are 100% evil even if some of them can with good influence (dark matter swordsman, gooey, void) became close of kirby species. they're just a dark matter who wanted the universe being as dark as them.

The Dark Matter in Dreamland 2 attacked because they grew lonely and no one wanted to be their friend.
It's always fun when simple platformers give their villians a little bit of a backstory even in the less story orientated ones like Kirby.

The amount of research put into this is refreshing. I was almost for certain Susie was going to be credited as continuing to mechanize planets (a feat that, based on Haltmann's backstory, is actually improbable, no... impossible without the use of Star Dream, which was destroyed in Kirby: Planet Robobot), leaving me in the comments to have to explain the mistakes Nintendo Treehouse made in translation, but it turned out the research (a quick visit to the Kirby wiki) was done. A level of research I almost NEVER see these days within the Nintendo community since the Switch launched. Especially considering Sakurai, best known for Smash, created and kickstarted the Kirby franchise, and yet I still see even Smash fans calling King Dedede and Meta Knight "main villains" instead of former rivals turned heroes or claiming that Marx has a higher record of importance to the franchise than Bandana Waddle Dee.

Yeah, after finishing the video, I thought that I had to have missed DMK, since his malice and hatred was the entire reason why Sectonia was corrupted in the first place, and even his Pause description in Star Allies doesn't give much indication that he's been genuinely reformed.

One thing that really interested me about Dark Matter is that he is somewhat self-absorbed, as shown when he draws a picture of himself whilst possessing Adeline in K64
Correction. Francisca was freezing to death in a blizzard, and Flamberge was burning alive in an inferno. The ancients Hyness was in was split in 2 parts: Magic and Science. One day, The Scientific ancients. seal the magical ones away for fear of their power. Hyness was outraged by that. He wanted Void Termina to restore his clan and give them a promise land. He wasn't corrupted by Dark Matter. Was just let his emotions got the better if him. In another dimention, he was trapped in a jamba heart, corruping him in the progress when he was freed.
Dark Nebula is another form of Dark Matter.
Dark Nebula is also called Dark Zero in japan, and his called Lord of the Dark
Taranza, how Sectonia turn evil? The mirror Taranza gave her? It was the Dimensional Mirror from the Mirror World. From amazing mirror. Taranza stole it from the Mirror World, and gave it as a gift to (Not-a-queen-at-the-time) Sectonia. But after the events of Amazing Mirror, Dark Meta Knight was imprisoned in the mirror. While the Mirror did perfectly imprisoned Dark Meta Knight, this allowed him to corrupt his prison with his hatred. So when Sectonia got the Dimensional Mirror, Dark Meta Knight slowly changed her when she gazed into his prison day after day. Influenceing her into using magic to make herself more beautiful in the bee form.
Susie is Haltman's daughter.
When Susie was teleported by Star Dream in an accident, she was sent to Another Dimension. Where the Parallel forms and Sphere Doomers live.
The Helmet that controls Star Dream Haltman used, it also stopped Star Dream from controlling him, but at a cost which was, it removed his memories, Due to Star Dream being incomplete by not being conected with the Access Ark which is really part of Star Dream. (Star Dream itself (The super computer) is it's brain, and The Access Ark is Star Dream's body. Both together is really a NOVA. A clockwork Star. When Susie came back, he couldn't even remember he HAD a daughter.
Also, Void Termina is the ORIGIN of Dark matter. But the original of all matter. Good or bad
Sectonia was a queen beforehand. The wasp form she became was actually one of her subjects. See the costume description in Super Kirby Clash.

I find it strange that you'll clear up minor misconceptions about Dark Nebula, yet proceed to believe a major misconception about Dark Meta Knight.
Sectonia was always a narcissist, even outright based on the myth of Narcissus, and he just happens to have been a product of the same cursed mirror she fell in love with. My favorite conspiracy about Magolor is as follows. It’s known that the Master Crown is sentient or controlled by something sentient (maybe Dark Matter or Void Termina), but the theory suggests that the crown was actually calling to the most powerful being in Halcandra, that being Landia. Landia was obviously able to suppress the Crown’s power to an extent, so it called to the second most powerful, which is Magolor.

-Leon/Leongar: Good/redeemed (Was being controlled by Fecto Forgo, didn't take any convincing to be nice with Kirby once he got freed from the mind control. Joining in on the victory dance after being freed nets him extra points)
-Morpho Knight: Wild card (He just kinda shows up, absorbs Soul Forgo, and then takes their place as the boss fight. He's basically Galacta Knight 2.0)
-Fecto Forgo and other forms: True evil (The only nice thing it ever did was put a small part of it's soul into Elfilin to go be nice after Kirby defeated it a second time in the final arena. Hardly a redemption)

It's supposed to be a ranking of villains, but this is a pretty decent beginner lore video. Maybe specific details are inaccurate or omitted, but the general and semi-specific events are spot on! (I wish you touched on Nightmare from the anime a bit tho as an honorable mention to Nightmare mostly cuz I just wanna see his deeds in the anime being FINALLY documented cuz he is quite a tyrant, causing a literal war and being the center of all the tragedies there.)

Taranza willingly went with Sectonia's issues and has the capability of causing problems out of grief (Super Kirby Clash). Dedede is absolutely better than Taranza since he proved himself as hero for a long time. Magolor had more time to redeem himself and apologize, Taranza just needs more time and game appearances.

Susie is in the Redeem actually, the part of still mechanizing planets in Star Allies is a misstranslation, in LP is using machines to help planets, more or less
and Magalor and Marx... I wouldnt put them in that category, yes, Gray may fit, but I would say something a bit more... darker, Marx does not feel remorse for its actions and the Cristal Apples Magalor collects are said to possed great power and that no body knows why Magalor wants with them, much less why so many
And I love the whole "Knight of Cerebus" theme in Kirby, a mix of extremely lighthearted atmospheres and songs and rainbows, and pure evil villains, from dark forms like Nightmare, Dark Mind (basically Sauron), and Dark Nebula (ruler of the underworld) to Zero (a world anathema to light) to the undead Necrodeus to a tyrannical and cruel queen to universe-destroyers like Star Dream and Void Termina that make Thanos look tame (the latter being a god awakened by a creepy deranged cult leader). And mostly isn't shy about killing off the most evil ones (Nightmare, Zero/02, Dark Mind, Drawcia, Dark Nebula, Yin-Yarn, Necrodeus, Queen Sectonia, Dark Crafter, Star Dream, and Void Termina)
