For example Paestel+Earth quite named properly accurately represents, welcoming, easing, easy going, friendly and neutral feeling. and guess what the keywords aare totally the keywords uk about ur client!!! that totally makes sense now!!
GOLDEN TIP: is way more useful to refer to colors as hues, temperatures, tints, tones, shades and mutes than call them by their names, because their names more often than not do not reveal how they are related to each other on the color spectrum. For example: calling the color "baby blue" instead a very desaturated and very bright tinted and toned version of a blueish color hue is a lot more understandable than simply calling that color "baby blue".
Wow. This is the only video that really helps me understand the color theory and how to select color for ui design. Unlike the common "take an inspiration design". Thank you so much!
This is definitely a top masterclass of color harmony & theory, without using empty technical terminology! The examples about how to mix them were just fantastic, as well as the didactic way shown! Thank you for this incredible video!

The best description of colour theory I have found on UA-cam - and I've looked at too many. A beautiful, crystal clear explanation. Reminds me of the mathematics videos on UA-cam from 3Blue1Brown in terms of style and clarity and that is high praise indeed. Thank-you.

Thank you for producing this video. It’s nice to find someone who understands this complex subject. I offer only two minor suggestions… “cyan” is pronounced “sy-en”, not “cayenne”, and the preferred pronunciation of “often” is “of-en” without the “t”. Otherwise, excellent.
I agree about the pronunciation of cyan. However, pronouncing often as "of-en" is debatable, based on the English-speaking country you are in. Webster's Dictionary says both pronunciations are correct :)
Why do I have a feeling that this is the sort of stuff that would be conveniently overlooked in a university graphic design course....... Thanks so much, this was very helpful
I think this is the best video about colour theory i have seen ever ... totally forgot about the time. Extremely best way to explain .... also i noticed the soothing background music feel like helping absorb the knowledge. wonderful
Well this is one of the best comments I’ve ever gotten too! 😀Thank you so much, I used some binural beats at the end that are suppose to be great for your brain! Amazing that you noticed it! Thanks 🙏🏽
What a wonderful comment to read Ali 😊It was a real labor of love for me. I do wish I had toned down the music a bit towards the end, but I’m glad the intention landed for you. Thank you.
Will come in handy in my graphic design images. In web design, I'd simply appreciate if designers would stop using retinal burning white as the background color. I have to turn on windows nightlight just to stand it.
Thankyou so much for this superb video! Have been tearing my hair out for months trying to put this all together (color/theory/models/harmonies......) watching this finally made it all make sense
That’s amazing to hear Clare! I know the feeling, it took me years of studying color to come up with a technique that actually makes sense. It’s such a relief when it finally clicks 😌
@@DesignerUp I Sincerely hope you get 1M+ Subscribers within this year. You've a talent to teach others in such a simple and easy way, making complex stuff seem easy for everyone.
Exactly because it's not an exact science, those frameworks help us so much. In UI, you don't have much room to play with roles: you must have an very well established visual hierarchy. You can get creative with colors, but not too far from the rules of primary, accent/secondary for brand and neutrals and communication colors for usability. Once you grasp the concept of the rules of colors in UI, and understand how to make accessible color palettes and mix and match colors, it becomes much easier to think and add color to your projects. Thank you so much for your video!
Oct 2021 - 7K upvotes vs a mere 52 downvotes says it all. Amazingly lucid & incredibly useful explanation that takes one's color & design understanding to a much higher level, thanks so much Elizabeth!
Thank you teacher Elizabeth, for explaining color theory and its terminologies in-depth. I often face problems when defining the colors for my ui design projects and just wonder how other experienced designer use it in their projects in Dribbble. This is a big help.
I agree with all the comments here. This video is absolutely revealing, and the best advice I have had, regarding usage of color. Whenever I have done some work designing web pages, my decisions around color have been a “pain in the eyes”, so to speak. Your advice will change that. Thanks so much!
Thank you so much, as a Game developer and a bit of color blindnes, I really struggle to match colors and make anything color beautiful, this should help tremendously :) Thank you!!!
I’m certain it will. I was partly inspired to develop this method due to one of my design students who is colorblind. Thanks for sharing and good luck!

I can confirm this is true. Took many years to figure out this method for myself 🙃
thank you ! that video was amazing . I'm a Backend developer and i was able to learn lol
That’s so excellent to hear. 🎉That was my hope! Thanks for commenting and good luck with your colors!
Thanks 🙏🏽
Perfect explanation, thank you for such a great job:)
You're very welcome! Thank you for watching :)
The content, visuals, voice over, and background music are on point. It was an effortless, almost hypnotic learning experience.
I have to turn on windows nightlight just to stand it.
i have no words to describe this video other than PERFECT, thank you so much !
Aww thank you so much!
Great info!
Also, I think it's pronounced "Syan", not "Cayenne" :D
Thank you so much. Please can you do a separate video on the different things you just talked about to help us start the journey.
Haven't seen a video as concise and simple as this one. Direct to the point with examples. Awesome
Thank you! And thank you for posting your screenshots summaries in the group!
Very well said! Thanks Manoela
Oct 2021 - 7K upvotes vs a mere 52 downvotes says it all. Amazingly lucid & incredibly useful explanation that takes one's color & design understanding to a much higher level, thanks so much Elizabeth!
Appreciate your thoughts and support, thanks Christopher!
As a painter I loved this tutorial
extremely grateful that I watched this video.
UA-cam, do suggest this video to other fellow ui designers. They will love this for sure!
I really appreciate that Murtaza! By commenting, liking and sharing you help tell the UA-cam algorithm to do just that! So thank you!
Thank you teacher Elizabeth, for explaining color theory and its terminologies in-depth. I often face problems when defining the colors for my ui design projects and just wonder how other experienced designer use it in their projects in Dribbble. This is a big help.
Absolutely amazing your work and the way you show us how to manipulate color in a professional way. Thanks a lot.
Excellent video that explains the color concepts clearly to someone like myself with zero background in color theory.
Extremely valuable and condensed content. Answers some of my long-standing questions in UI design.
The categories and S/B ranges are gold.
Really glad to hear it! Thanks John
This is the first video I see about UI design or Colors in general.
In other words: I came looking for copper and found gold.
Thanks you :)
Love that statement! Good luck on your learning journey Diego!
I agree with all the comments here. This video is absolutely revealing, and the best advice I have had, regarding usage of color. Whenever I have done some work designing web pages, my decisions around color have been a “pain in the eyes”, so to speak. Your advice will change that. Thanks so much!
‘Pain in the eyes’ haha indeed. Thank you for you kind comment. I’m really glad that my method proved useful!
Thank you so much, as a Game developer and a bit of color blindnes, I really struggle to match colors and make anything color beautiful, this should help tremendously :) Thank you!!!
I’m certain it will. I was partly inspired to develop this method due to one of my design students who is colorblind. Thanks for sharing and good luck!
i Like the way you teach and used your word... Even when am not rue watching the tutorial.... your voice is a captivating machinery for learners to grab Asap
As a teacher, that’s a huge compliment. Thanks Josiah
Oh boy. You saved my bacon, im in charge of an 11 brand design sytem, I need to rebuild all of each brands pallettes, this will help so much. Thanks
Haha good to hear! That sounds like a huge task! Best of luck, hope it turns out great!
Great work teacher. Thanks. I strive as GD for 20 years.
