      Thanks again for the review. The Keith Titanium Ti6300 Multifunctional Cooker is a good piece of kit. I've been carrying this on my business trips for 3 weeks now attempting to learn it's use for the trail. I use a brasslight alcohol T1 stove with a loose titanium foil windscreen and get a boil with 10ml (1/3 ounce) of alcohol is enough for oat meal; 15ml will cook rice; 30ml will steam salmon; 15ml will cook presoaked dry black beans; 15ml presoaked lentles; garlic cloves mixed with anything soften with 15ml. This also works with coffee 2 scoops in the inner container with 15ml alcohol will boil 2 cups of coffee. When the coffee is finished just remove the inner pot set it at an angle on top of the outer pot to drain and the grounds stay in the inner pot making it much easier that cowboy coffee.
      On trail I plan to use this with a mini-E wood burning stove and perhaps augmented with esbit tabs.
      The mini-E will not nest within the pot. A single wall Snow Peak (SP) 450 will nest nicely within. I haven't tried the SP 450 with lid. A SP 300 double wall with the plastic lid will also fit. I'm unsure of iso fuel canisters being able to nest within. The pot fits nicely in the side pocket of my Z-pac Blast and Zimmerbuilt Quickstep.
      A long handled spoon is nice to eat directly out of the pot.
      The extra pack weight could potentially be off set by the efficiency of fuel consumption and easy cleanup (no burning).

    I recently participated in a Video Reply to a Pizza making competition. One of the requirements being that all the ingredients were shelf stable. I kicked around the idea of using some type of meat snack such as Slim Jim or Pepperoni Stick. I ended up going a different route, but you just showed that it was a viable option. Thanks for the video. Off to look for a Rice Cooker now. LOL Thanks for the video.

    Love using my Keith titanium multi cooker and initially was hit or miss until I realised the following. Using water is fine but any sugary/starchy broth as liquid will clog the tiny holes and burn. Rice is great when I time it and pull off heat to absorb the tiny amount of water left at the bottom (18 minutes for my own rice from my paddy- khao hom mali) as you do not want it to boil dry. Too much heat is bad too. With my gas stove it's never full blast unless boiling water with no inner pot.

    What I did was added a small micro low pressure gauge to the lid of mine. And a Clippard MNV-1K Needle Valve with Knob get it boiling an steaming.
    An very slowly close the needle valve and babysit the gauge to keep the pressure readings about 5psi with the flame turned down. So it’s constantly venting slightly but I still manually control it with the needle valve so the pressure changes are slow. An when I sit the flame off. I close off the valve. Seems do better cooks with certain foods.
    And for the regular steaming I just unscrew the needle valve all the way like removing the needle completely but leaving the valve body mounted. But so it’s full open. An it’s basically back to the original use.
    Minus the tiny gauge and the micro needle valve on the lid.

    Hey Jaxx. I just found out about the cooker. Have you ever put some broth, or created some broth when steaming food in the keith? If been wondering if i could put miso underneath and end with rice + a miso soup, or make a sauce for the rice which also works to season and steam the rice. It would be interesting to develop recipes like that based on this interesting cooking device

    I noticed water pouring out, does it not use all the water? How do you know when it is done? That is the hard thing about rice, learning how to time and measure so you don't burn it. My rice cooker sucks at making sushi rice, they are still hard when done, so I ordered this to give it a shot.

      @@AquaTech225so is just a steamer?

    • @AquaTech225
      @AquaTech225 3 місяці тому

      @@carmenmartinez2882 basically. It’s vented otherwise it’ll explode. But in reality it’s not a secure completely locked on lid. So it would probably blow out the silicone oring before exploding.
      Due to the vent hole size. Ring slightly small. It may hold 1-3psi of a pressure at like a full boil of the water in it. But it’s not really going to build much more than that due to the vent.
      So it’s a strainer cup internally with holes in it. For the steam to pass from boiling in the outer cup. Through the holes of the internal cup than out the lid.
      Now I did look up there’s small the size of a nickel round give or take pressure relief valves. Made for like the more crude pressure cookers. Like the non electronic versions.
      That release I forget say something around 10psi. The vent hole could be drilled out. A the pressure release be put in that spot with a oring nutted under the inside of the cap.
      Essentially closing off the vent of it. An it wind bleed off until that psi is reached. Either on here or the web has a video of a guy that did that. I considered. But didn’t care enough to stick to the plan to do it.
      An I believe I was reading that that was the original design of that cooker to have been a pressure cooker. But one reason or another they changed it up to it being vented.

      Haha Yea, I gave a little shout out to Peter in the description. I've been watching his stuff a while and have watched his UA-cam personality grow and develop. I'm still trying to find my voice and develop my own style... I've learned a lot from him. He deserves all the good things life has to offer. Mucho respect for that guy!

      Yeah I agree, he seems like I genuine, down to earth guy. There's definitely a reason he grew so fast.

    Great vid... I have 1 question, my ff stove will run out of fuel (using 1 oz) around 8 minutes or less. Did you add more fuel? Or did you just let it rest for the last 3 minutes or so? 10 minutes total is mighty fast for real rice... I may have to pick one up.

    • @JaxxDrinkwater
      @JaxxDrinkwater  6 років тому +1

      I added exactly 1 ounce of fuel with no windscreen. Keep in mind It was probably 85 degree's outside and no wind. I've cooked this several times and never had to add more than an ounce. Is you Fancy Feast a homemade version or the real version? I have both and I can tell you the real version is way better on fuel.

      Jaxx Drinkwater Thanks for the fast reply....Yup mine is a DYI FF stove. I may have to upgrade.

    I'd like to know more about that knife you were using too.

      Here's an idea: Don't eat rice with it. Keto till you die! (because it will probably kill you eventually)

    i dont know whats wrong with this titanium but 190g for a 900ml cup is too much, my 1300ml pot + pan weight less than that.

    • @JaxxDrinkwater
      @JaxxDrinkwater  4 роки тому

      I own a few titanium pots and I can tell you that the Keith Ti6300 is a thicker pot...The total pot weight with both pots is 270 grams The outer pot is what is 190 grams. plus figure in the latches to the outside as well and the thickness of the pot and that's why it would weigh more than the average titanium. Take it to account as well that this is not your ordinary pot.

    • @Temporalplace

      @@JaxxDrinkwater Wait ,in the video u said that outer pot is 190g, so outer is 80g ?

      @@Temporalplace Sorry .. the outer pot weight is 190 grams .. the inner pot is 80 grams.. both together total weight is 270 grams.

      @@JaxxDrinkwater Normally 900ml titanium pot should weight about 130g - 160g max.

      @@Temporalplace Ok I'll take your word for the "average" 900 ml titanium pot weight. This one is not one of those average titanium pots.
