- This is how I make a steering wheel cover. Hope you enjoy!
Fabric cuts
Main fabric: 48"x6"
Fusible fleece: 47"x5.5"
Shelf liner: 48"x5.5"
I'm sewing on a janome qs2250 with a microtex 90/14 needle. Gutterman top thread. Unknown source for the bobbin thread.
I used:
1/4" Double sided tape: Geekyhardware.com
Fusible fleece: joann
Shelf liner: dollar tree
Fabric: tkbprints.bigcartel.com
Let me know if you have any questions!
Awesome, so easy to follow. Avengers steering wheel cover here I come!
That is pretty cool! Loved that you chose the taco print
What a great idea to use shelf liner to prevent the cover from slipping! It probably adds a good bit more insulation as compared to not using it, which is going to make a big difference in comfort when the outside temperatures are extreme. 🌮 And that taco fabric is adorable!
Thank you!
thank you so much for doing this video, so easy to follow, hope you make more videos, stay safe
Thank you! You as well!
I love your video. Thank you it’s so informative and I look forward to making this pattern. Thank you so much for walking us through on how to do it and I love how personable you are.
Awe thank you! This one was rushed around noises so I was worried people would complain it wasn't as personable as usual. Thank you for saying that!
OMG! The steering wheel cover is so cute and adorable.
Thank you!
Way cool thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Great job, Vannessa! Your children were very good while you were presenting this steering wheel cover. I love the shelf liner idea as it adds an extra layer of "grip". Thanks again and I look forward to other projects you share with us! Can you tell me what the "inner white material" is made of? Maybe I missed that if you stated what it was! NEVER MIND, I watched the video over again and you clearly stated it was "fleece."
Thanks for so many kind words! 😍😍
What are your thoughts on using something like insult brite for this?
I think you could get away with it. It's pretty much the same as fleece. I would make sure the shiny side goes against the steering wheel though. You don't want it getting hot on your hands.
What was the length of the elastic?
That will depend on your size of wheel. I would measure your wheel and take away 2" from the total
If you’re going to do a video keep the kids quiet. I don’t wanna hear yelling kids are barking dogs
My videos are not for you then. I'm so sorry. Mine are all noisey. I hope you find something that helps better.
That sounds like more of a personal problem.
Wow rude
