- A politician in South Korea was stabbed in the city of Busan. Reports say opposition leader Lee Jae-myung was stabbed in the neck while he was touring the site of a proposed airport in the port city. Video shows the attack. The suspect allegedly approached Lee in a crowd of people and asked him for an autograph before assaulting him. The attacker was quickly subdued and arrested. Why do they let so many people crowd around these vulnerable politicians? It makes no sense. Crowd control and only vetted people near the pol should be the rule.

Because Korean political CULTURE is not used to this kind of violence. That's why security is not as tight compared to the US.

you couldn’t be more correct people been saying this since early 2010-2015 lol
Weed Eater, also known as In The Future, Entertainment Will Be Randomly Generated, is a meme started from a 2003 VeggieTales episode where a robot randomly generates "Weed Eater" as the punchline for his jokes. As the quote and clip aged, internet users saw how accurately the show predicted absurd zoomer humor. The clip and quote from the show first received attention on Tumblr in 2015 but later spread to UA-cam and Reddit, where screenshots of the robot saying "weed eater" were used in image macros.
Hearing a few of the stories that Rotten Mango has covered that come out of South Korea, i'm not surprised.
As a powerful figure, walking around in the crowded public like that without spacing and a large amount of serious bodyguards is a huge mistake. Dude was WAY too relaxed walking around knowing he had opps.

So an attempted assassin gets to be anonymous. I agree with this. Less chance of someone trying to do it for publicity. But just after this, a South Korean actor had committed suicide because he couldn't take the pressure and exposure of being arrested and paraded around for public press events because he committed the horrible moral sin of, as far as I can tell, smoking pot. Seems like they need to figure a few things out over there.
He didn't commit suicide, at least of all the stories I read, he overdosed.

Not exactly surprising that this would happen in South Korea.
Hell, this would be kind of expected with every government that has ever ruled in the Korean Peninsula. Now the only thing to ask is what kind of foreign policy he was advocating.
According to Wiki he's somewhat market-liberal but socially leftist, who wanted to open up a bit to China and North Korea, while trying not to offend the US too much by doing so. Campaigning on social issues like unaffordable rents as well, so likely a lot of people who don't like him.
