The one time that 2 protoss players ever end up in grand finals of a big tournament (impossible hypothetical) they should just fuse together into an archon and take both 2nd and 1st place prizes
Before SC2 was first released, the Mothership also had an ability called "Planet Cracker" with a huge beam annihilating everything underneath it (showcased at the Demo). But it never got released lol.
Lowko! Every time you sing this song, which is quite often, you get it wrong and it makes me shout at my monitor (it's a good song)! It's "I would walk 500 hundred miles" which is also the title of the song I'm Gonna Be (500 miles). The lyrics go "But I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more, just to be the man who walked a thousand miles to fall down at your door" which works less well with 100 miles.
@xIcarus227 before, they could not hallucinate Phoenix was not worth spending the resources for a century, you would get one shot out of hallucinations, and a useless century
Disruptor: Here my attack goes, you see the range and the area so you can run away, needs to channel so you can interrupt it. Terran: we have a siege tank that insta shoots with splash damage and bonus damage
@@buhobiker That's an interesting observation about the channel. What if the Disruptor didn't have to channel, but the ability was otherwise unchanged? The ability would be a little stronger and the Disruptor a little safer to use since it can start gliding backwards while the nova is rolling forwards.
Yeah the whole idea of delay is just dumb. The whole idea of blink shadow strike DT was supposed to be like a ninja assassin surprise attack, lore-accurate.
1:31 ah yes, the archon vortex ball, battlecruisers and screaming comentators, I still get shorts of this game on YT from time to time. Besides 26:02 Showtime targeted ghost with his DTs during the fight, idk why he only went for one tho

I actually remember all of that fun fact that’s actually what help me win some of the games when I did play protest with the void ability, especially when the mothership court itself. Also, if I’m not mistaken, had the time lapse as well those were some pretty good abilities now not so much.
9:22 I completely agree with Lowko's sentiment at this point. The units offered by Protoss factions are very divided in the extreme way - either they're significantly useful or completely mediocre. The new mothership rebalancing also somewhat went in the wild way, it feels like there is hardly anything in the between.
"Reminds me of Zerg getting nerfed because of Serral-" "It might not be Terran, it might just be Clem-" Thats what I've been saying about him too lol, you even see it when he dabbles in offracing. We all know he spent next to no time at the pro level playing Protoss, yet he still managed to become the #2 protoss player, only behind MaxPax at one point. He even made Serral struggle, while playing protoss. Thats insane.
Clem? Do you have some YT links where I can see him? I have never seen him play anything but Terran. Only off-race pro Toss (no pun intended) I have seen, let alone who was close to top 5 toss, was Reynor.
That is quite impressive how Clem dominates all Protoss players but is always having a very hard time against MaxPax. I'd love to see MaxPax taking part in offline tornament, maybe one day
archon toliet, flush your archons with the vrotex after you flushed the enemy army result all units pop out stacked on top of each others which let the archon splash hit everything and they all attacked the moment they popped back into the game so the archons within 1-2 seconds of popping back into existence would just delete everything saw a game where protss had something like 40 army supply trapped on an island base and terran was mass BC, one archone toilet latter and the Protoss won the game since all the BC something like 20 all dead to something like 12 archons can't remember the player names it's been so long now

To help make Zerg late-game less susceptible to the mothership -> corrupter trap (i.e.Zerg destroys the mamaship but is stuck with too much supply in corrupters), why not make the corrupter able to land and have a ground attack mode similar to the viking? Maybe it's hive tech, likely you make the ground attack mode kinda weak (not unlike the viking), but it would make corrupters more viable and therefore you wouldn't be forced into Broodlords after the mothership is gone...🤔
Could you speculate on Disruptors, in pro games, they miss 90% of attacks, so it becomes a "boring" unit. Since it is an energy attack, what if protoss shield was capable of siphoning of some of that, so when they run through the storm, the shields get a boost or recharged? Mobile shield battery, good for Protoss bad for others. So in a Protoss vs Protoss, one fight in the storm....
Edit: just after I wrote this, I heard you say the part about shield! I know you were having fun with the idea that zealots would survive a disruptor hit now. But disruptors actually do 100 bonus damage to shields, so I think they would still die!
Hot take - the Mothership will never be properly balanced. The Mothership currently costs 400/400, which is not all that more than a Battlecruiser or a Carrier, but it has far more utility than one by itself. The balancing to its power relative to its cost is that you can only have one of it, but that only works in a macro level, on the micro level, in terms of individual engagements between armies, the Mothership can be devastating. And yeah, the opponent can target it down but by the time the Protoss player feels they can afford the Mothership, they can probably afford to make another. Blizzard approaches the Mothership balance like they want it to be able to swing games, but a unit with that much power to it is inherently unbalanced. So they try to dial it back to not be so powerful, but then it just becomes underpowered for its cost and players don't use it until the very very lategame when they can afford to build six of them in a row. The Mothership is the last remaining artifacts of the Starcraft Alpha build, Blizzard is attached to the idea of it as this massive Protoss fleet commander that can single-handedly decimate armies. And maybe that unit could have worked in a world where the Thor could take down a Planetary Fortress with its Barrage and the Queen could evolve to have more HP and power with the Hive, but that isn't how SC2's balance ended up going. Blizzard recognized that and retooled the Thor and the Queen, but not the Mothership. They tried to do it with the Mothership Core to limited success, but then abandoned that concept. So we're left with a Warcraft III hero unit awkwardly trying to find its place in a game that is not built with hero units in mind. Honestly, they should just cut the Mothership and bring back the Arbiter, can slap the Mothership's abilities on it, balance its stats and cost to fit SC2, and it'd probably work better.
Man, I really am old because I remember the archon toilet days. I feel like even micro as a whole as evolved with the game. What Clem does with his splits would seem like witchcraft when compared to someone like Marine King Prime and his splits against banes in the early StarCraft days
I remember the ability, but never heard it called Archon Toilet! At the time I was just playing the campaign and custom games though, not keeping up with the pro scene.
For future reference, that song goes: "But I would walk five hundred miles And I would walk five hundred more Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles..." Just making sure you know. 200 miles doesn't seem that impressive vs the original planned 1000
I downloaded a couple games for a flight today. I think I know what is actually making the Terran so oppressive at the moment. It's the Medivacs. They're too versatile, and they're too fast, and they're too tanky. Every game you get this part where the Terran bioball all up in the bases and it's REALLY hard to even get a group of units together who can effectively trade with a Medivac full of Marines. And then even if you do, the Medivac just picks them up and uses a boost to kick you in the teeth and just drop into another part of the enemy base. I really believe if Blizzard swapped focus to the Medivac instead of Liberator and Ghost, it would slow down their mid game enough and also give other races a fighting chance to actually make an economy that will go to the late. In particular in this video, that final game where Clem sweeps through THREE Protoss bases and doing so well you could barely consider that a "trade". It was expertly done by Clem, and a joy to watch, but once he picked up the whole army in 3 Medivacs and bolted off the other side, that was just disgusting. Protoss can't even seem to fight Terran in their own territory, but you flip that around and Terran will likely push a Zerg or Protoss army out of their base. My suggestions are thus: - Reduce Medivac base speed by 0.5 (now 3) - Boost speed remains the same (5.95), but Medivac move speed is reduced to 50% of the new Medivac base (1.5) for 2-4 seconds once the Boost has ended -Reduce Medivac HP by 25 I think these changes would allow Terran to still perform the strategy while giving the other races a fighting chance
This is the best Bo5 I've seen on the new patch so far, both of these players are heavyweights. In the other vids you've uploaded Zerg gets bullied and it's painful to see, Zerg players deserve better for how hard they work.
What if protoss got the healing tower as a tier-3 structure? Perhaps make it expensive, slow healing and all that, but give protoss a way to regenerate their bruised units late game. Especially with the trend of having lower shields these days, this change would give the protoss more survivability.
I know I already commented twice on this video, but what the heck. I think Clem shows Terran needs to get nerfed a bit more, and I think Toss should get a buff to the Disruptor: does ~20-25 splash damage to air units directly above the nova when it explodes, and the cool down should be reduced to 13.

i think the solution to the mothership is to play more harass zerg
once protoss has the death ball your goal is to stop it from killing your bases one by one and you do this by picking it apart with abducts on vital units other then the mothership and use mutals to harass the protoss mineral lines
the reason i say mutas is while not ideal against the mothership with hydras lurker on the ground they will be helpful in killing it once you harass the protoss economy and army enough that you can engage it, and for protoss to priortize killing the muta pack over the lurker hydra is a mistake do to how much dps the units do and life plus the muta can heal out of combat really well so they can soak damage pull out and regen negating that damage
abducting imortals and tempest will be the key, no idea if archon can be abducted but those too, ofc this is hard with the cloaking the mothership gives but with i think making hot keys for overseers to commet to keeping vision so you can abduct those key protoss units is important for zerg players
