Having 2v2 tournaments or ffa just for fun a big tournaments would have be a great way to keep sc2 fresh. I think its a little late now but still love to see it
Imagine Dark and Serral work together as the Ultimate Hive. While Serral doing all the house keeping, creeping, injecting for both swarms, Dark just spine rush the enemy
@@rumar4u Nah Dark and Serral defo is the way to go. Serral has absurd macro and management and Dark has that killer gamesense, so they work together well. One makes sure theres a ton of resources to throw at the enemy and the other uses them to great effect.
but tbh i feel like Hero and Serral would be an even better combo, because Serral is rock solid and heros pretty much the opposite. all fancy no groundwork :D

Speaking as someone who has played a lot of team games, the strongest opponent you could face is a single player with two people's income vs two people trying to coordinate.
At lower level, like diamond, it's not true. Most of players have not enough skills to expand, research and attack at the same time. Therefore 2 playes have strong advantage been able to expand mostly unchallenged.

Watching 200 supply of Battlecruisers smash into a pile of carriers in a 2v2 made me feel something I haven't felt since brood war basement games with friends in high school.
It's rare to see critical mass BCs lose but they couldn't handle the combined damage from the Protoss fleet and the Vikings. There were so many Vikings lmao.

2v2 is so fresh due to meta reasons, unfortunately there's no so many working combos. It seems like for any competitive RTS to succeed these days might require an IP with a large fanbase already. I am hoping there's a new DoW that's actually good to enough to an eSport. I think it can have huge potential for asymmetric faction mechanics that makes it entertaining to watch, enough of a fan base already internationally to jump start. Balancing (or not) the dozen plus factions might be too tall a task to ask for any developer though.
I don't think this would change a lot. Many rts players stick with their game even if the same IP releases a new game(SC2 & AoE2) And then the pvp gamemode usually plays very very different than the pve gamemodes, so most players never play multiplayer. Mobas & Battle Royale games are so popular because they are easy to learn & hard to master, while there simply isn't a pve mode, so players never learn to feel safe. Most rts games are hard to learn and hard to master. This simply pushes people away.

looks like spirit and gerald is more like teammates who work together and have a strategy that they want to try while maru and byun play like partners who trust each other to cover each others backs.
As much as I would LOVE to watch PPvPP, I think I'd prefer to watch TTvZZ or TZvTZ. I bet it could be done. Honestly I bet PPvPP is just five minutes long per game.
Thing is when we played 2v2 or 3v3 in wc3 "ill go anti-air and casters" and someone built 1 specific thing and we played like the other person would build what they said they would
I feel like battle cruisers are great but are not balanced for this type of play. They are too slow and don't really do enough consistent damage to deal with the number of units you see in a 2v2. I also feel like the Korean team at 41:00 lost because they didn't move to enough AA. Like sure the threat of a ground army was real but there were so many wasted tanks that just didn't really go towards anything. Also I would like to preface this by saying I'm no expert on StarCraft so I could be completely wrong. I used to play a bunch but never got very good at the game. Love these games though. It brings in an entirely new dynamic.
Yes, the korean team's air force is smaller than their opponent's, their ground army is not strong against air, and their opponent's air force can hit both ground and air.
I think you casting 1-2 teal games per month would be great. More than that will be a little much. Also looks like maru has a better mental fortitude than byun.

I feel like you should advertise this as 2v2, its unusual and imo its cool and very underutilised in SC2 Pro matches.
