- Saturday Night Special from the album Nuthin' Fancy - Lynyrd Skynyrd. Skynyrd's Pronounced was my first album ever and Gary Rossington was my favorite. agreed Tom. Those guys style was really unique. I have seen many people try to play them. It is extremely hard. I think they were some of the best guitar players ever including Ed King and Steve Gaines. You were just about spot on though and you are a great guitarist.

Hi, that was truly inspiring and sounded bang on for tone. I'm curious what pickups you're using, if you don't mind me asking. I'm just about to order a set of Saturday Night Specials by Seymour Duncan and wondering if they'll do the trick... (I have a 61 SG Reissue ;)
I really have no idea. I'm just using the standard Gibson humbuckers that came with the Gibson standard SG. Pretty much any decent pickup will sound good with the right effects.

Thanks man. I'm from St Louis Missouri but I've always felt that southern rock is in my soul. I must be from there in a past life or something 🙂. Or maybe it was that pronounced by Lynyrd Skynyrd was the first album I ever bought and really made an impression on me.

It just did not sound the same. It was close though. lynyrd skynrd is hard to get that certain sound. You are an excellent guitar player though. I enjoy your videos

Highridge, go buy a tape recorder. I promise you the original artists can't reproduce their own songs as well as Tom does their own songs. Why would you even write what you did? You can't just enjoy how a person who loves Rock music honors it with a cover that nobody on earth can match. Go to one concert of and listen to the original artists try to replicate their own songs and complain to them that they got it wrong. Unbelievable.
