      It seems that AnthemScore does a good job transcribing, but not that good recognizing the time signature. Then MuseScore completely revamps the whole thing. It's kind of interesting, but what a mess!

      Hello, I was wondering if this software would work in regards to accapella gospel music. My friend has four individual tracks of the S,A,T, and B. Could I put each of those individual tracks into this program to make it work? We are trying to transcribe our songs into sheet music. Here is one sample I would like to do to give you an idea: ua-cam.com/video/dxRyH403OuE/v-deo.html.

    I came across this totally by accident. Very interesting and thanks for talking us thru' this quickly. You'll undoubtedly have heard of Finale and that's what I've been using. Both have their limitations, especially with recognising the beat, as you mentioned here. Presumably, what I'd have to do is play almost robotically whilst playing piano, recording my playing and making it into an MP3 or .WAV file first, then convert it using these 2 apps. Years ago I used Allegro 98 (ancient!) and when I played fancy stuff such as rapid arpeggi and glissandi, all I got on the sheet music was a huge block chord - useless! So, I'm reluctant to try yet another app for now. Really what I want is software that I can use when playing and it all magically converts it into beautiful sheet music for myself or anyone else to play - the way I played it. To be able to record someone playing and then printing off the musical score onto hard copy would be utterly terrific, but we're still not there yet sadly. I'd love to be able to do this as many pianists for example just play as they saw fit at the time and often don't studiously write it all down for others to be able to practise and play.

    • @Madgemade
      @Madgemade 2 роки тому +2

      If you use play on a MIDI keyboard, it is possible to connect the keyboard to software like MuseScore which will record all the notes and place them straight into the score. This skips the recording step described here. If the piece can be played directly on a keyboard then there's no reason to use a recording.

    It would be useful to mention (early!) that you *need* a 64-bit operating system to run _AnthemScore_ . Even if you have a 64-bit processor, your old PC might be running a 32-bit operating system. (As on my favourite 11-year-old desktop, where most of my music gets translated to a digital format, e.g. using a notation program such as _MuseScore_ or _NoteWorthy Composer_ .) So, I'll be happy to try this out - on a laptop running 64-bit _Windows_ .

    Thanks very much for sharing Sir. Is it possible to copy Lyrics to the Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass Staves in MuseScore 3. I already have the four SATB Parts however the Lyrics for the SATB Parts are the same. So far I have had to be typing the Lyrics from scratch for each Part separately. I would appreciate any insight you or anyone may have thanks in advance!

    Use proper WAV or FLAC for this job instead of MP3, they don’t discard any element of the spectrogram or waveform like the latter does.
    (Which should mean greater accuracy in the process)
    Just a general tip to help people out.

      That won't change really much. No software can distinguish between a note played the same time for various instruments and say, ok, that's the violin, that's the sax, that's the flute,... An audio file, mp3, flac, wav, ogg or whatever you want is a mich of all the frequencies, so it's impossible to get it right a full orchestra or a multi instrument file to a sheet music just simply with a software.

      @@Neoprototype: Polynizer does a good job of recognizing the notes and chords, even if they are played by different instruments. It does not separate them by instrument, though. A good approach is to separate first the instruments using an app like Moises. It does a great job in separating bass, drums, vocals, and the rest in different tracks.

      @@tqciapv5378 I don’t find that Moises does a very good job with bass separation. It sounds very odd to me. Very muffled and burbly. Like it’s being played under water. From what I understand it’s more that it’s a nearly impossible task for software than it is a limitation of the software.
      I am also very new at this so my ears/brain still require more training. 🙂

      The human brain can still do quite a few things that computers can’t - yet. Picking out patterns in chaos is something brains are very good at. The software gets better all the time - but it hasn’t got there, yet. Moises is amazing at picking out certain instruments - but it still has a lot of limitations. Anything with a complicated score and multiple instruments still needs a human being to make sense if it at the moment…
