honestly I believed the lie about combustion for so long just because the spell being good for not costing any mind is just way too good to be true in this game
It's more complex, glass shards apply 2 different types of blindness, those arms are immune to only 1 of the 2. So, yes, they can be technically blinded
I have a feeling that for the losing your mind, people are just misremembering the ancient book since it says you go insane if you lose the coin flip (Which happened to you on the background gameplay) so they probably had that happen then just merged the mind stat with that in their memory
I saw someone do a playthrough, and upon destroying the last "Depths organ" they went to the opened maw and that's when they found the Cavedweller village massacred by 2 wandering Moonless Guards, so I had just assumed they crawled out of the giant maw after it opened and that's how it it usually occurred.
There is a hidden code in the game that rules: if you name Ragnavaldr Jorato Koujo and meet Legarde you unblock a Stand. Trust me it was revealed to me in a dream.
@frapollo94 to be fair, the creator says, (paraphrasing)"I used this strategy to win, and thought it was the best one. I then checked out other people's strategies, and they were completely different, and sometimes more successful than mine."
So, just to give a heads up, there IS actually a way to die of a heart attack in Fear and Hunger, but it has nothing to do with the Mind Bar. In the event that you encounter a Ghost enemy in the Mines (or the Narrow Passage, for you Scissor Lovers), they will hit you with the Ruin spell. This, after the first two uses, lowers Mind slightly, and makes your character PHYSICALLY older. After the third use, your character dies from a heart attack brought on by old age. I think that this unfortunate soul just had the circumstances of Ruin bringing their Mind down to 0 at the same time as that third hit would give the impression that it was caused by the former instead of the latter. This is also likely because you won't notice that your characters have PHYSICALLY AGED without taking time to really give them a look in the party menu, something I didn't do or realize until well into my 20th or maybe even 30th run.
For Funger 2, the wiki says that the Heartless One's end of the turn special attack can remove a limb even if you have the Salmonsnake Rune equipped. That's very untrue, at least in the version I played
My first exposure to the f&h was Super Eye Patch Wolf vid which definitely has some incorrect information. For example thinking not all characters can get dash.
8:09 Surprisingly, Miasma actually oozes toxic gases in F&H2, in a boss fight against Moonless I guess new players that watched a lot of videos, but never played themselfs, could think that miasma does this in a first game as well
I feel like the Girl mage build chatter must have come from Zuldim's video, which is how a lot of people learned about the game existing before SEW's video came out.
i think in an earlier ver of fear and hunger you could eat dirt to restore a few points of hunger. there’s this streamer (tolomeo) who played the game just a few months after it came out and I recall him eating dirt to restore 7 hunger if I remember correctly 😭
Imo the girl makes a good mage because she deals very little damage with basic attacks. On my run I used her as a support with the party healing spell, aswell as using consumables on her turn, literally carried the whole run on her shoulders
the heart attack thing is driving me crazy because I so clearly remember one time when I died from sa heart attack and I thought it was so funny that I told my friends about it on discord, I know it wasn't from low sanity tho since I keep that up pretty well but still, it's crazy how I can remember that so clearly and even have proof I told my friends about it when it's not even supposed to be a thing it baffels me
Great video! Would you ever consider making a video talking about the different random map and enemy layouts for the dungeon and which you think is the easiest for hard mode or something? For example I really like the layout where the level 5 mines ritual circle is right next to the salmonsnake room and hate the layout where you have to walk all the way around. There's also the layout in the thicket where you can get 99 lucky coins due to an oversight. I think you could also talk about the most/least inconvenient spawns for the elite guards like how they can spawn in the basement or by the human hyrda. Just something to consider. Cheers!
YOOOOO BUDDY THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT! You know, I was thinking about something similar, but every time I figure it in my mind it seems boring, like, imagine someone showing you all the different maps for each zone. Maybe I am just bad at explaining

I was gonna type a cool comment about how the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure community once spread complete misinformation about the plot of the show because of a parody video making a joke, and then blaming the author for a plot hole that didn't exist kind of like people mixing up Darkest Dungeon and F&H. Then I remembered Frap doesn't really like JJBA so nevermind >:( (Great video btw)
You know, the link between people thinking of Darkest Dungeon in relation to Fear and Hunger might be the fact they're both games about dungeons with grueling difficulty curves, they share a similar vibe and when you don't know much about a game, but hear 'oh yeah, if your character's mental stability hits nothing they'll have a heart attack' its like... 'I don't know much about these games, what game has that spooky vibe and a dungeon that both track people's mental faculties does that belong to?' Of course, its still a little silly.
Yeah I feel like the incredulity, while obviously played up, was a little much. It's completely expected for people to make an assumption about a game they know nothing about based on similar games they've played previously.
I think the reason why people think 0 mind causes heart attack is because when you leave the room of a party member that left because of a mind event, it will say that there's no 'apparent' reason that they died- but it's possible that the cause is heart attack
One reasoning people made the heart attack to darkest dungeon connection is prolly because they are both games where you crawl through a dungeon, see unholy horrors, and manage a stat representing your deteriorating sanity.
Sometimes players make assumptions that seem plausible based on logic, but are absent from the game. I recall playing Maniac Mansion, and everyone else who played that swore up and down that if you chose Bernard, a drawback of choosing him is that he cannot use the exercise equipment and thus cannot do things that require you to enhance your strength. Bernard can use the exercise equipment just fine. They also claimed you could siphon gas from the car, and use that gas to power the chainsaw and then use the chainsaw to chop a branch from a tree. You cannot use the chainsaw, there is no way to obtain fuel for it.

honestly I believed the lie about combustion for so long just because the spell being good for not costing any mind is just way too good to be true in this game
That's very true honestly, but then again, we have black orb
I still believe this property was supposed to be in game, it's just that Miro hadn't found a way to code it.
today I learned penance armor DOES protect from peck
To this day i'm not that sure if throwing Glass at the Sergal's arms really "blinds" them, but i'm too afraid to test my luck lol.
That's a very fair thought
Miro is partially once the problem then wiki fandom continued his lineage.
In another universe Miro is the Fandom Wiki Admin

There is a hidden code in the game that rules: if you name Ragnavaldr Jorato Koujo and meet Legarde you unblock a Stand. Trust me it was revealed to me in a dream.
It was stated in cfyow
The girl thing was people thinking that the video "Fear and Hunger: an in-depth look at the RPG that hates you" contains the only viable strategy
DAMN THAT VIDEO

7:10 'Vision of False Truths" lil bro lived up to his discord handle
For Funger 2, the wiki says that the Heartless One's end of the turn special attack can remove a limb even if you have the Salmonsnake Rune equipped. That's very untrue, at least in the version I played
Fandom wiki: "Random bullshit go!" meme
My first exposure to the f&h was Super Eye Patch Wolf vid which definitely has some incorrect information. For example thinking not all characters can get dash.
That moment when your “”mage who you’ve dedicated every spell to starts breakdancing
8:09 Surprisingly, Miasma actually oozes toxic gases in F&H2, in a boss fight against Moonless
I guess new players that watched a lot of videos, but never played themselfs, could think that miasma does this in a first game as well
I feel like the Girl mage build chatter must have come from Zuldim's video, which is how a lot of people learned about the game existing before SEW's video came out.
People probably mix up reaching 0 mind event with the "Ruin" attack from Miner spectre. If you get hit 3 times by "Ruin" you die from a heart attack
This is what happens in the modern age where people are diehard fans of things they haven't even played.
God, why is it always fandom wiki? Thank god we have the tormentpedia
i think in an earlier ver of fear and hunger you could eat dirt to restore a few points of hunger. there’s this streamer (tolomeo) who played the game just a few months after it came out and I recall him eating dirt to restore 7 hunger if I remember correctly 😭
Imo the girl makes a good mage because she deals very little damage with basic attacks. On my run I used her as a support with the party healing spell, aswell as using consumables on her turn, literally carried the whole run on her shoulders
Frapollo you are rising to 100k 🔥🔥🔥🔥 congrats 🎉

Frapollo on his quest to preach the good word of testing things yourself
the heart attack thing is driving me crazy because I so clearly remember one time when I died from sa heart attack and I thought it was so funny that I told my friends about it on discord, I know it wasn't from low sanity tho since I keep that up pretty well but still, it's crazy how I can remember that so clearly and even have proof I told my friends about it when it's not even supposed to be a thing it baffels me
Is it possible that you are thinking of miner spectre using Ruin?
@@frapollo94 That's probably it then, it makes more sense
@@frapollo94 Understandable. I guess that sort of video would mostly appeal to the hardcore funger players like me that did all the S endings runs which is basically a minority of a minority

The only thing that Funger players hate with all their hearts is just a fandom wiki.
If you name your character SANS there's actually secret dialogue if you beat the entire game without getting hit or killing a single enemy. Gro'goroth will have special secret ending S speech about EXP actually being "EXECUTION POINTS"
And don't forget sylvian mentioning LOVE being level of Vinushka Embryo
Frapollo you are the best, i just started watching your streams and you are just as charming in there as in your videos
Awwww thank you so much!
i love that you used toby fox music in the background! i was watching and jamming lol. my two hyperfixations in one
I miss playground rumors so much, F&H is the closest I can get to that experience again lmao
I thought zero mind causes you to have coinflip on every turn but it's because of how it worked in Termina and I never had low mind in first game
Not gonna lie, I was 100% convinced you die from heart attack at 0 mind. Solely because of darkest dungeon
Thing is, with the Ritual Spear, when the cavedwellers use it, it DOES poison you, so I don't blame people for thinking it didn't poison at all!
Yeah I don't blame them either
Frapollo: "Fandom wiki is a garbage source of information for Fear and hunger."
Me: Yeah, that checks out.
Honestly the losing arrows through using a bow jn combat feels like it also comes from playig termina and guns using ammo when theyre used in combat
HEY! IM GONNA DEFEND MYSELF:
With the panophobia thing, you know, i didnt know if i die or not, already knew the panophobia for reading but ACTUALLY believe something awful would happen. AAAAAND im playing fear and hunger for love sake, OBVIUSLYYYY am already traumatized. Its understandable.
Yeah, defence denied, go to the shadow realm
8:09 i get the feeling they used that idea for Termina, since in the game when you fight Moonless, Miasma poisons you if you dont destroy it fast
I’m pretty sure the myth of the girl being the best mage also came from the Super eyepatch wolf video, he talked about he liked giving the girl spells
You should write a Fear & Hunger guide. With the mentions of urban legends that are indicated as false.
Oh wow, I arrived pretty soon. Keep up the good work Frap! So sadge the Lona videos are gone.

I wonder what the job application looks like for applying for the position of Gro'Goroth's belt-buckle/c___-sleeve? Where would you even pick one up? It's not like the internet exists in that world/era... a Help Wanted ad in the paper? I imagine that would be an incredibly vivid job advertisement -and it would probably make your nose bleed after reading it.
22:16 i think alot of people would believe whatever you tell them purely sence to most your the one who knows all. Great power comes great tomfoolery
19:57 is actually even funnier, sometimes something does happen... the game will teleport the corpse of the enemy that would ambush you to the bed.
Ohhh yeah that's a bug I met in the past lol
I have been told by the fandom wiki to first interact with le'griffith THEN Isayah OR the Crow mauler will spawn. After a long battle with the crow mauler, I founded out that Wiki lied in my face
19:13 the sheer disbelief in your voice is sending me
I assume the Cahara death rumour is due to the fact that if he doesn't join your party when you find him in the mines (due to you having too many members), you find him dead around there later. It happened to me, and in a hand-drawn map I made of the mines, I even marked where his corpse was.
Well... Of course the girl is a great mage! Specially when you consider how useful she's as a tank or a brawler (yes irony)
Honestly i fall asleep to frapolo vids, such a calming voice :)
The argument at 4:40 isn’t that strong, a lot of tropes are reused in gaming for ease of the player. He is right that while similar mechanics in games doesn’t mean they are going to be exact or even similar to say it doesn’t make sense or would be out of the realm of possibility doesn’t really make sense
Thinking about the possibility is one thing, saying it's true is another thing tho
This is a video I never thought I needed.
Once again thanks Frapollo you have done it again.
No words could describe the happiness I felt when I was greeted with poke-myths at the start of the video. This is why Frapollo is the best f&h youtuber

ok, i'm mad that the ritual spear is not actually poisoned, not gonna lie.
I remember playing Fear & Hunger's demo back in 2018 and the characters died upon reaching 0 mind, but I don't remember it being specifically from heart attack. I've never played that game mentioned or interacted much with the fanbase.
Our mortal enemy wasn't the fear and hunger, it was missinformation
5:04 i think the mandella effect is from ghost ruin cause the text says that you die from a heart attack
Probably yeah
actually, dirt is interesting: I ate the dirt and it did not restore hunger! it has comlex mechanica
As a person who hasn't played Fear and Hunger myself
I disagree with the last fact about the girl
The girl gets the unofficial magical girl buff if she learn those spells
This guy is single-handedly carrying the entire community of this game. Legend
A new frapollo video is always a great day to get up in the morning ❤
I was gonna type a cool comment about how the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure community once spread complete misinformation about the plot of the show because of a parody video making a joke, and then blaming the author for a plot hole that didn't exist kind of like people mixing up Darkest Dungeon and F&H. Then I remembered Frap doesn't really like JJBA so nevermind >:( (Great video btw)
Hahaha it's funny to hear this story regardless!
'I don't know much about these games, what game has that spooky vibe and a dungeon that both track people's mental faculties does that belong to?'
Of course, its still a little silly.
Yeah I feel like the incredulity, while obviously played up, was a little much. It's completely expected for people to make an assumption about a game they know nothing about based on similar games they've played previously.
I think the reason why people think 0 mind causes heart attack is because when you leave the room of a party member that left because of a mind event, it will say that there's no 'apparent' reason that they died- but it's possible that the cause is heart attack
this channel is one of the main reasons i got into funger, love the content!!
i love how he said "FEAR AND HUNGERRR!!" so enthusiastically
... so what you're saying is, the War Scythe is the best weapon in the game.
Yeah, source: trust me
One reasoning people made the heart attack to darkest dungeon connection is prolly because they are both games where you crawl through a dungeon, see unholy horrors, and manage a stat representing your deteriorating sanity.
22:57 does anyone know the actual name of frapollos outro music? Its rlly good but I couldn't find its origin
