What makes all of this even more amazing is that with the exception of Castillo, the other 5 starters in this rotation are all young homegrown players who were drafted and developed by the Mariners. Incredible stuff!
George Kirby content? Straight into my veins.
Dark horse Cy Young right there, especially if he turns in a couple more masterclass starts
By far, my favorite Mariner
The top three could be in top 5 cy young talk …absolutely insane
He will be concensus best in the league one day. Jorge is nasty beyond belief
Kirby needs more run support! Let’s go M’s!
@@nicolasbaker9601me too
Salty Astros fan here lol. M's earned that sweep.
Respect
I'm not counting you guys out at all. Once the post season arrives, if you make it, you would still be title favorites. Too many post season studs to not be.
If framber gets back to his old self you guys have a nice 1-2-3 with Verlander France and Framber
Thanks for the respect. Astros had a hard-fought game 3. Almost took it, but just didn't have enough in the tank.good game.
Respect bro. It had been a while since we got one on y’all.
I am a old M's fan from the Griffey era and I cant remember a better pitching rotation in Seattle. Go M's
Jamie Moyer, Freddy Garcia, Paul Abbott, Aaron sale, Jeff Nelson, Arthur Rhodes, Sasaki idk man 2001 pitching staff was tuff.
@@joseriojas5663 abbott, sele, moyer were very hittable. this current M's pitching staff with the batting lineup they had in 2001 would have won the world series.
The Chief! Freddy was awesome. And Jamie was truly one of the great pitching artists of his day with his changeup/curve. What’s insane about this rotation is how young it is. Jamie was near 40, Freddie was about to get a big payday, and the other guys had career years. Rn the oldest guy is Castillo @ 30
I am an even older M’s fan from the Al Davis/Spike Owens era and I agree.
@@joseriojas5663 yeah not the same
It’s just nice to see see Kirby, Gilbert, and the entire rotation getting the notoriety I knew they could earn! The contributions of Miller and Woo were a God send to replace Ray and Marco!
Still like Marco and think he should be the left on left late inning bullpen go to..
@@chas.5009well its good you aren't the manager, lol
@@KevinDallosto
Another genius without any hard facts and spewing feelings. Ha ha ha ha ha
@@chas.5009 look, I love Marco, but he's a starter, I dont think he would fare well at all as a reliever
@@KevinDallosto
Marco has been a good soldier and done what has been asked of him. Woo is not good enough to replace him. One of them needs to pitch bullpen innings. how many lefties do we have in the pen? Innings eater and easy on the payroll budget.
Makes sense why Sewalds 91-94 blew people away at the top of the zone. Would love to see those stats on him.
What they have been able to do with pitching is just absolutely beautiful.
Sweeping the Astros on their turf was a changing of the guard moment.

and by the way, that's 6 dominant starters AFTER they lost Robbie Ray and Marco Gonzales for the year.
... those* are* 6 dominant starters ...
Doesnt hurt that 5 of the 6 also gas it in at 97+, its kind of unfair... Thanks for the M's content btw, love it ✌️
Bryce Miller was touching 98 at the end of last season, his fastball is dominant already at 95.
I feel like Gilbert is on the brink of a sub 3 era season
I really hope Hancock is ok and it's nothing long term. Would love to see him succeed. Happy for Gilbert, Kirby, Miller and Woo to get their chances and show everyone their talent. Castillo is a luxury. Their north star.
I’ve said this even before the Mariners got hot: they have one of the most solid starting rotations in baseball this year, where their weakest arm is at the very least someone you can easily depend on. The amount of rookies they have with phenomenal stuff is absolutely incredible.
Another crazy fact about the M's is that there entire active roster, for all of their careers combined, have pitched around 700 less innings then Verlander.
Doing this all without their CY Young winner.
What a time to be an M’s fan
The FS1 announcers at the Ms-White Sox game tonight said that it's like you put on a Mariners uniform and you just know how to pitch.
Just to let people know. Would you care to know why Seattle can just trade away their closer for people to improve the roster and just plug in the next guy? Seattle has a school of pitching of sorts. They take guys that were average bullpen arms and send them to school. They help pitchers develop new pitches. They teach controlling the zone, on both offense and defense. So, you made an out. Was it the right kind of out? For pitchers, that means teaching you to control your pitches better. This has been going on for a few years.
Let’s go M’s ❤ gotta get deep in the playoffs and offer Ohtani a deal
no to ohtani. don't need to spend $50 million a year on just one player
@@golfmaniac007It's like getting 2 players in one. Elite pitcher and an even better hitter
Mariners' fan base could double, thanks to Japan, if that were to happen. One can only hope.
Great content - tech analysis with good graphics and explanation !
The M's rotation is solid and could very well lead them to a 2nd straight post season birth. However, their bats will need to continue to show up if they are going to have any post season success. Consistency at the plate has been the M's issue all season. They've corrected it of late, which is a good sign.
All the sports heads talk about in Seattle
Thats Crazy, great video interesting stats
Great Segment!
This is good content, about a team I love
This is a really good segment

They knew what they had in this rotation and will have it locked in for a large window of time! So glad they didn’t trade Gilbert to St. Louis!
Better not trade pitching for it..

Awesome and very interesting.

Seattle is amazing to watch
Pitching. Check. If the Mariners can hit something close the league average at the plate they will be absolute MONSTERS in the playoffs. Crawford and Kelnec will both be back from IR by September, so look out!
JP might be back tonight. Marlowe makes me not miss Jarred, that's for sure. Would still be nice to have him back to play RF because his D is far better than Teo.
Cade Marlowe has a higher OPS and a better understanding of the strike zone than the mercurial Kelenic. I say don't rock the boat.
🔱
Imagine ohtani in that rotation...😊
Gonna end up moving one of those guys to the bullpen to be a high-leverage stopper if they land him. Would probably be either Miller or Woo, I would imagine. And that would be a nasty, nasty bullpen to headline.
Time to put your money where your mouth is, Ms ownership.
A 6 man rotation of Castillo, Ohtani, Kirby, Gilbert, Ray and either Miller or Woo with the other in the bullpen sounds pretty damn nasty
@@jtthomas7349Robbie Ray is trash at this point IMO, he's going to be another Robinson Cano contract. Hope we don't stunt the growth of Woo, Hancock and Miller to cater to him.
@nealanderson9719 cmon now Ray is not trash. Sure he was a little disappointing last season but he was still one of the better starting pitchers in the AL and when healthy is a solid #3 so having him as your #5 is great value

Just remember robby ray our ace has been hurt all year too
Am I dreaming... Ms on MLB? 🔱
7 left against the Rangers . It’s gonna get a bit bumpy
For the Rangers yes.. they won't be able to hold on
both teams aren’t close to what they were last time we played each other lol it’s gonna be a much closer series
If only we could hit.......
The last month and a half says we can
@@liambrier5353 the last 15 years says we can't. No one is scared of this lineup (outside of julio) and that is a problem. We dont need to be #1 but top 10 in runs scored and better than 17th in wOBA might be a good place to start. Feel like 1 more professional hitter in this lineup would go a long way!
@@abcdefghijkl5408 i don't give a shit about the last 15 years, we didn't have the same team 15 years ago. also, we play half our games in a pitcher's ballpark
@abcdefghijkl5408 Everyone in the lineup has been producing lately, especially Julio, but Teoscar has been on fire the last few weeks as well, and Dylan Moore has provided offense too. Not only has the lineup been better lately, it's been a top 5 unit in baseball.
@@colin_95 a hot month hasn't changed my opinion that we are a slightly above avg offense, which is not going to cut it in the playoffs
If only their pen can close the deal in the 9th inning. Without reliable Sewalds, the M's will sweat a ton in the 9th inning save situation.
I wouldn't trust what these have to say, but the fact that they are both holding bats makes me think that maybe the know more than I realized.

"Chuncking system." Wtf
Chunking is not a baseball term, is is a term used in cognitive psychology that describes how the brain will break down larger pieces of information into smaller chunks, making them easier to store in short-term memory. Chunking is how our brains bind together pieces of information, which makes them easier to understand, retain and recall in a split second.

So? Everybody knows that. And everybody knows it won't stay that way forever.
All 4 Seattle's Starters will be prime future candidates for Tommy John Surgery in the near future. The short success is not worth the damage that's taking place in all their shoulders. Dumb move!
First of all, every player in baseball is at risk of tommy john, Bryce harper just had surgery for it. Second of all, the lower slotted arm angles are actually easier on the arm compared to higher slotted pitchers. that's why in softball you can pitch 100 pitches in one game and you could pitch again in like 2 days.
So what are you saying they should do? Not pitch? Lol
Thats the dumbest take I've heard in a while
@@tylermarley9159 No: The release point should be coming from the top, not the side. I also believe the constant reduction of the mound hight is contributing to the damage as well. Throwing from the wrong plane is not a natural motion for the body.
@@micmuffles8563 I'm talking about Pitchers, not position players.
They have played no real contenders. Weak schedule. What’s their record vs the Braves Dodgers Astros Yankees Orioles etc?

but regardless they actually lost to orioles by a small margin, 8 and 2 against the astros as well.
Yeah 8-2 against the Astros, and they can argue 'oh Astros weren't at full strength' but we didn't have jp Crawford, kelenic, OR robbie ray, so yeah we're not at full strength either and we just swept them
