After watching the numerous clips of Santana, I realized how sad I am he's no longer a Mariner. He should be remembered as the Blue Jay Menace for his work against them. Thank you Carlos
When you think about the sheer number of clutch hits and consider “the intangibles” such as the “veteran leadership” it’s easy to see how the positives outweigh the negatives when describing Carlos Santana’s tenure in Seattle. It’s also important to realize that the M’s didn’t have a MLB ready in house replacement when Ty France hit the DL. However I think it’s important to point out the main reason why the FO did not pick up his contract for the 2023 season. This current FO is one of the best, if not the single best regime Seattle has ever seen. They have shown us they can identify and produce young prospect talent, they are one the best in the League at using analytics and developing their own. They can spot Pitchers like Flexen, Sadler and Sewald- guys who were almost out of baseball, into valuable cogs in a winning Org. Another thing they do well…..is make business decisions without letting their emotions influence them. The decision to let Santana go is one more example of a calculated business decision When you think about the significance of Santana’s HR in the historic comeback in the WC game it feels sacrilegious to say this but the biggest reason Santana is in PIT? Stranding RISP. Carlos left 16 men on base in just 5 playoff games! Plenty of our hitters were guilty of that in the Playoffs but Santana was the worst by a mile. When you think about the last 2 decades of M’s teams- how many lineups had hitters like this? RISP hitters found DP’s and can of corns! It’s a good decision to have a lineup with one less hitter like this. Despite that- Carlos Santana will ALWAYS be thought of fondly by me and many of the fans in Seattle. He’s actually a good fit for that young PIT clubhouse and hopefully the shift rule can help his ability to drive in Runners this year. Oye como va Carlos? Gracias jefe!
That place had been rocking all night but when he hit that ball and it cleared the fence 21 years of frustration and complete letdowns we're let go by myself and 47,000+ The streets of Seattle were a party that night
I was there. just on the right side of the foul pole that he hit it to. It was. So. Much. Fun. Dancing, crying, shouting, the fans didn't leave the stadium for hours and hours after the game
@@DivePlane13 Yeah, the As were way out of contention, so it was kind of a meaningless game for them, and the Ms/As rivalry has always been pretty friendly and pleasant. We'll be just as happy for them once their ownership starts allowing them to not suck again.
i will never get tired of watching cal go down and and get that pitch to send the m's to the playoffs. the way he rounds first and how it all starts to sink in as he looks around the stadium and then mouths "Holy F." that humble reality gets me every single time.
I’m truly sorry that game 2 went that way for y’all, that was tough to watch the replay of as I was at the Cardinals-Phillies game at that time. Let’s just be happy our teams made it to the postseason!
I find it funny hearing the opposing team calls and it sounds like they are at a funeral when something happens to their team. That said, I enjoy seeing this and thank you for the work you put in for us. Let's Go Mariners.
For real, Julio Rodriguez; he's MY dude! He has that Edgar 11 Martinez type of swing & follow through to the baseball. Somehow, aren't they BOTH right-handed?🤔😱⚾💥

I feel the same way. He and Hanniger were especially hard to lose.
I wish we would have kept him on a 1-year deal. Dude was SO clutch for us.
@@augiefresh11 Agreed! We always could've flipped him by the deadline if we didn't need him by midseason.
Agreed. I recognized it all year, but was extremely disappointed we didn't give him a 1 year deal.

I love how @ 2:05 you can hear Goldy make the call from the booth next door!
😂perfection
Same at the Houston clip at 1:30! bahahaha Bless Goldy.
Other announcer: somber call
Goldy next door: AAAAaaaaAAAAAAaaaaaaHHHHHhhhhhhHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
@@adlwilliams great description, ahh goldy makes me laugh everytime 🤣🤣
I like the A's broadcast of Cal's HR because you can just hear the sheer magnitude of the crowd which is pretty special.
the A's have had a class broadcast team for a while
@@MrKJ444 sad about the stadium and fans but the A's are a classic team
The best broadcasters are the ones that know when to stop and savor/feel the moment, for or against

Props to the A's TV broadcast on the clinch, really solid call
It was nice how they just kept quiet taking it all in. That’s a once in a lifetime call for them after such a long drought
They sounded pretty hyped about it themselves which I guess is nice!

Dallas Braden is definitely a strange guy, but I've always kinda liked him lol
Goldy absolutely yelling at the top of his lungs in the background of some of these clips is hilarious 😂
No it isn’t
@@NoName-fo7mz Yes it is
@@NoName-fo7mzyes it is 😂

Watching him realize what just happened in real time gives me chills every time I watch it.
That A's call of Cal I think is my favorite now they just shut up and let the moment happen. Also that crowd sound gives me chills everytime
Because they were mad that they lost and they can care less about Seattle.
Toronto fan here just reliving some brutal memories y'all got a good team hope to see you in the playoffs again this year let's go 2023!!!
I’m truly sorry that game 2 went that way for y’all, that was tough to watch the replay of as I was at the Cardinals-Phillies game at that time.

Its crazy how much louder you can hear the crowd noise on away calls because the announcers are so quiet 😂😂😂
Can hear Goldy on the Julio 2 run bomb against the Astros
That was an amazing season. I really hope they can tip the scales towards dominating wins over amazing comebacks this season.
1:23 - 1:27 you can hear the mariner announcers screaming there head off 😂
what an amazing season this team gave us
Terrific compiliation and well edited! Thank you!
I find it funny hearing the opposing team calls and it sounds like they are at a funeral when something happens to their team. That said, I enjoy seeing this and thank you for the work you put in for us. Let's Go Mariners.
It was a nice change of pace being on the opposite sides of these tragic endings for once.
those calls by the braves announcers were really good
The best part about every clip is seeing how happy jrod is for his teammates and is team. Truly a team player Seattle never lose this gem
Oof, watching the Blue Jays calls of the choke is painful. Buck Martinez is truly one of the best in the league, he deserves better than that.
Love how absolutely gutted the Tigers announcers were. Like two walk offs in the same series damn
@1:20
You can hear Aaron Goldsmith yelling the home call in the next press booth lmao
I'm going to miss Slamtana, he came in clutch for us many times as you can see in this video!
His walk-off home run for the Pirates this season was *so* hype.
1:30 you can hear goldsmith lol
Props to a few of these crews particularly the As and Blue Jays, very respectful and appropriate calls for the moments
ill be honest my team is the twins but i love watching the mariners. solid young team.
Man Carlos was so clutch
What an amazing comp. Thank you for this!! Go Mariners
This the most hype video with some dull audio
Brilliant work! Thanks!
Man this season was something special.
Going to be hard to top last year. It was almost magical.
Can't wait to watch an see what happens
Ms vs Jays in the wildcard comeback.. flew all the way to Toronto to sea the game. Absolute core memories for me. Phenomenal moments.
I love seeing a full and excited Mariners Park, this video is full of those shots. Love it.
I miss Carlos Santana. Though he's a .215 hitter, he's clutch and is a great clubhouse guy for any team that he's on. awesome player
awesome video, can hear the saltyness in the calls! Also forgot how clutch Toro was at times
Yup, Goldy's a certified Mariners announcer- passion so loud the next booth over can hear it 😁
We're gonna miss Hanigar
1:17 if you listen closely you can hear Aaron goldsmith yelling
How is Toro in almost every clip 😂😂
Santana really was out to get the Blue Jays wasn't he
Love hearing goldsmith yelling in the background of Julio’s finger against the astros
Lol, you meant "dinger"...I think. Or did I miss Julio flipping the Cheatos off? 😂
this is amazing!
Forever Seattle Legend: Cal "Big Dumper" Raleigh.
Bro going to Mariners Hall of Fame for that AB alone
Boy, Santana sure was in a lot of those videos as the hero.
1:29 you can hear Aaron Goldsmith screaming from the other media box LMAO
Can we please get a part 2
The misery of the Astros broadcasters for some reason gives me so much pleasure
For real, Julio Rodriguez; he's MY dude! He has that Edgar 11 Martinez type of swing & follow through to the baseball. Somehow, aren't they BOTH right-handed?🤔😱⚾💥
He’s swing reminds me of The Captain, Derek Jeter.
…his swing…
Wow, we got rid of a lot of our clutch hitting. I wonder why we can’t get clutch hits this year?
love this
13:21 :D
Wow, the Yankees had SLOPPY baserunning vs M's
Why not this video but with OUR announcers?
W video
Mariners 🔥🔥🔥👍
Those were the days. Now, here in 2023, we’re back to being the uninspiring Mariners.
2:34
How do u get opposing announcers
You go to their broadcast booth
Haniger....
enjoy the nothing. will be the last time they make the playoffs for another 20 years
