  • A blind hem stitch is a perfect way to customize your clothes without seeing the thread. I show the difference between straight stitch and blind stitch. If you love sewing then the blind stitch will become one of your favorite stitches when it comes to hemming clothes.

    Thanks so much! Yours was the best video on how to sew a blindhem. I really was impressed that you showed a blindhem vs what a hem looks like w/straight stitch.

    Great explanation of the blind hem. My pant hem came undone and I've had my pants sitting on the sideline for a couple months now. I just fixed them up with your help thanks a lot.

      You said it! This made more sense than any other instruction I've seen or read. And I love that he used quilting tools (mat, ruler and cutter) to do the job - Much more efficient!

    I really appreciate that you took time to post these sewing videos. I've watched hundreds of tutorials over the last 2 years and no one uses a Brother machine. This was amazingly helpful. Also the best and concise explanation of a blind hem stitch. Keep it up.

    Great job! That stitch surely made all the difference. Appreciate the lesson on the blind hem foot. Going to pull it out of my stash from now on. Your close up sewing made it look really easy. Thank you! PS. Crotch... you mean "IN SEAM" (that's sewing terms). Just messing with you... again great job! Keep doing those super sharp videos.

    Great job on the video
    I like the comparison between the blind hem and the straight stitch
    I was doing that test today and I thought you know is there any advantage in going through all the steps, the blind hem has more stretch, and is less visible for sure

    This was really helpful! I am pretty short and so usually wear about 27-28 inseam. So this is very helpful. I have used blind hem on my machine before. And the cut of these pants don't have a lot of taper, but any advice if you have some slimmer fit pants/jeans that might need a bit of taper adjustment too?

    • @darknessfierce4209
      @darknessfierce4209 9 місяців тому

      If you need the altar for a taper, you wanna just piggyback onto the seams so if there’s a seam in their turn your pants inside out and run the angle to the cuff, mark it, and then sew that line
      Depending on how much you’re curving the pans, you may want to split it between the outer and inner seams

    What is the brand of the marking pencil in this video? I am using a triangular chalk. I like your channel. Subbed.

    Thank you so much for this video. Great tutorial. I’m a total beginner, so I have a silly question: what’s the setup (which number) for the blind hem stitch on the machine?

    • @oxmanagain
      @oxmanagain  3 роки тому +4

      Great question I should have put that in the video. The presser foot is r and the number I typed in is 10 or you can use 11 depending on the stretchiness of your fabric.

    I think a normal stitch would suit a pair of jeans. You need a good visible topstitch on jeans.

    How your sewing machine better then mine without a needle threader..😂😂 jk.. I really appreciate your tutorials, you speak a sewing language I understand..(slow speed).. I mean I watch other tutorials and they’re good but they go so fast(show offs) ya kno..and I can’t with the rewind play and rewind again just to figure out what just happened..thanks

      Well you pretty much covered all my beginner basics..needles, stitches, and feet, I think I’m ready to do some serious sewing. So do you think it’s best if I like start freehand or go with patterns..if you say patterns then that’ll be the next tutorial I’d like to watch. Me looking at a pattern is like an owl looking at daylight.

    • @oxmanagain
      @oxmanagain  3 роки тому

      I would assuming the pattern would be easier because they're going to come out perfect. Then, with your new confidence boost you will try bigger and better things.
