Apparently, there are 2 charger ports in the center armrest of the 2nd row which I didn't get a chance to explore, so kudos to Mazda for thinking about the 2nd row passengers and their charging requirements. 😊
Really like the design language of all the new Mazda's... including scarlet of course LOL 😀. Mazda keep coming up with the goods these days....and bloody good effort on the review mate ,very professional presentation.... cheers 😀
12v charging port in the truck is not a querks, its been available in other brand and this is used to charge equipments you have carried in your compartments trunk example if you have a portable cooler.
You have another two USB ports for charging cellphones at the center arm rest which is a bit hiden. That charging port at the back is for changing coolers and other electrical device you bring with you in camping for example. By the way Mazda diesel is the best in the business, it has a lot of low end torque so you'll enjoy your acceleration all the way of your journey.
Car mags are already heaping abuse on the U.S. spec diesel despite not having driven one. Typical. And they call the fuel economy figures "disappointing", but as any VW TDI owner knows the EPA greatly downplays the economy of diesels while it exaggerates the economy of gas hybrids. (I own one of each. I know that's true.) Diesels are the greatest long-distance touring engines on the market. Absolutely brilliant mile-eaters! And they grunt their way up mountain roads in top gear without any noise or drama. At any speed.
Costs should be same with other Japanese brands. Locally we can avail of Amaron Pro Deep Cycle batteries which costs less than the original battery but does the job. 👍
Better hurry. Some 2019's cx5 diesels are still on lots. I've seen dealers with the signature fully loaded ones with 5K knocked off. Looks like the option is going away for 2020. Probably because it cost more then the 2.5 turbo which has more power. Diesels just don't sell well in the states. But like I said, now is the time there are great deals on the remaining.
Since the CX9 is made primarily for the US market, it doesn't have a diesel variant. The upcoming CX8, though a bit smaller than the CX9, may have a diesel variant.
Good review, one thing that I was looking forward to was the actual fuel economy that you experienced..or was your test drive too short to give a meaningful report on this?

pro tip : watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Weston Genesis yup, I have been using flixzone} for since november myself :)
Newton meter is the unit for torque. Nanometer is a unit of length.
Thanks! Nm gets a bit confusing for me. 😂
The 12v port at the back is usually used for portable vacuum cleaner when detailing your car or for charging cooler box.

Awesome review for an awesome ride. Love the enthusiasm. Keep it up bro!

Only thing I can think of for the 12v charger at the rear is so that you can 'conveniently' inflate the tire in case of an emergency.
Theirs two charger ports at the center armrest
Charging port at the back might be a utility port for accessories like vaccuum.
LA Grajera yeah you are right. its not called "charging port" its a 12v socket. There is a lot other accessories aside from charger that you can use
Great review ! Very clear and concise in your presentation. Love the shades you wore
Did you manage to drive the 2WD Diesel variant for comparison ?
Thanks! Unfortunately, we don't get the diesel in 2WD here, it's just the range topping AWD.

may available pa na ganitong variant for 2021 or 2022 model?
the charging port in the trunk possible use for portable refrigerator either use portable tire inflator
Thats for coolers and tire inflator or battery charger.

Good Review Sir, by the way sana next Review Toyota Rav 4 2019 base model. More power and God bless.
Thanks! That can be arranged. 😊
Yes pls, and a comparison between Rav4 and Cx5
whats the fuel economy?city and highway?
Nice review
Nice pov. Can you use an ordinary car battery for CX5 series car? I am planning to buy the 2nd hand car 2012 cx5. Thanks
If it has the i-stop system, you'll need a deep cycle battery for that. Not sure if the 2012 cx5 you're looking at has the istop already.
Which do you think is faster the 2.2 diesel or 2.5 NA Gas model?
The gas-model obviously.
The gas one would be faster, but the diesel one will have high torque. For me diesel engine would last longer and diesel is cheaper than gas.
Nice review! Thanks.
How about the long term maintenance? I heard some issue about the battery?
Costs should be same with other Japanese brands. Locally we can avail of Amaron Pro Deep Cycle batteries which costs less than the original battery but does the job. 👍

Are android auto and apple carplay available in the 2019 model sir?
Yes, & Mazda Ph has begun rolling it out to earlier models as well, including Scarlet.
fuel economy?
what the hell! why in world cx8 does not have the diesel variant?
Apparently other markets get a diesel cx8...
I hope we get a diesel in the USA I will buy it in a split second! I love this car, please send us a diesel Mazda!

HiPlains1 yep I bought one in the US you can get more than 5000 off. I love t he car.
They did make a diesel CX-5 for US markets, fortunately.
It's Newton-meters for measure of torque sir, just for clarification. Good review though. Thumbs up!
Is it real? Twin turbo? I just thought naturally aspirated engine here in the Philippines.
Yes its a sequential bi-turbo 4 cylinder skyactiv engine

What color is this cx5?
Vee Low sonic silver
No roof rack to put your cargo
Its possible to add on, not too many would do so though, since the internal cargo space is quite decent.
