Vincent is easy to citadel, but you missed the best part.....you can citadel cruisers with HE. Also in the captains build, dont take fire protection and take furious, brings the gun reload down to ridiculously fast. The super heal is because the ship only has 79k health at T10.

It is very easy to kill so any potato gets dev strike with it. Every BB except meckleburg can overmatch it, every HE will pen its nose, and if you have 32mm overmatch there is nowhere you can it that isn't a pen. No need for superstructure when you can farm everywhere on the ship.
Yeah I quit wows a while ago when carriers became even more annoying with AP rockets and then subs came.. do not miss the game at all lol they crucify it more every patch
Just remember that WG even back then gave the Conqueror like a 10.1KM surface detection range or some stupid shit like that with 457mm optional gun setups of like 63-68% fire chance.

i can not stretch enough, that despite ships like St. Vincent or all the CVs being in the game, they nerfed the reload of the Tier 5-7 italian dds a while ago, because THESE were clearly too strong and in need of a nerf. It was not acceptable, that players with hands and a knack for one vs one dd fighting, could have fun in ships, that were widely regarded as trash. My theory is, that the guy, who came up with the whole CV rework concept is in charge of the entire dev dept by now.
PRO TIP: When fighting a St. Vincent, the most reliable way to citadel it is to aim for the middle funnels, at the CENTER of the ship. If you're in a Montana or something with floaty arcs, you have a bit more wiggle room, since you have the benefit of plunging fire.
Thunderer is a good comparison. St. Vincent has less range, roughly equal throw weight, lower reload and much worse sigma. It has torpedoes and a superheal. The thing that was supposedly so bad on Thunderer is worse on St. Vincent: it has the same chance to start a fire, but it fires one extra shell per salvo. So I'm thinking Thunderer needs a buff. It's only fair.
When this ship first came out I always said this thing will be more broken than the Thunderer due to its firechance and battlecruiser dispersion. Guess I was right. It's like the easiest ship if you want to farm damage. High Caliber Witherer and Arsonists are easy farms along with average 200k games. Prop mod and brisk does help this ship too not to mention the funny firing angles. And people think that GKs and Pruessens should push in that. I currently have a 298k game in the St. Vincent where I stopped 5 ships pushing in the flank and I was alone
I'll be honest this was my exact reaction when I first got to play the Vincent. I was like "who's leading the balancing department", because this ship has pretty much everything that a Battleship needs, good armor, great speed, great guns, good anti-air and really good concealment while also having some extra perks like DFAA and Royal Navy Acceleration and Superheal. Oh and it also can break 40 knots with Brisk and Engine Boost Active
I haven’t had any issues citin’ St. Vincent, which is kinda funny how many people say it’s not able to be citadeled. Believe in one match in my Kremlin I got six citadels on it, and in Yammy I hit 4, but it was a bit less consistent due to the plunging fire vs more straight shots.
Their balancing department actually works when it is about Japanese and German ships. Iwami is a great T9 premium, but for some reason they didn't give it improved secondary accuracy. Ah yes, improved secondary accuracy would have made it broken. But Georgia with speed boost, 40s heal cooldown, 457 guns, great secondaries are fine.
What are they thinking you ask? They’re thinking free xp money from people wanting to be OP until they nerf. They made this game to make money. They are getting it. Remember wargaming makes more money than any other game in the world and this is how they do it. They designed a game that was fine initially and once they had a solid player base to feed off of, they started introducing the same concept that made world of tanks successful.
They never had a balancing department. They hired some people and put that job description on them, but then those people went on lunch break and never returned.
The funniest things about these on legends is on the Duncan especially I actually get the torps knocked out alot. Turrets despite the armor actually seem more durable😂
The best part is you didn't even push in and you still had a great game. This ship just destroys everything it fights at close range due to the fast reloading nose in turning torps, super heal, lack of a citadel, super maneuverability, and hard hitting accurate short fuse AP. It's a monster farmer but it's a god-tier brawler. It is literally excellent at all ranges.

@@TMar1961 30 battles 66% WR in random, almost 60 matches in clan war. And idk man, the torps have better forward angle than even the likes of Kleber, I would consider that straight forward. 69knots speed too so it's pretty standard.
Well, i am on Duncan right now, and basically at Hawke i have realized that the line is good. Very reliable guns that remind me of Thunderer. Ideal ship to carry, compared to other bb RNGfests.

Just started 6 weeks ago. Grinding T9 Duncan right now. It's not as pleasant as the StV, I imagine. I do look forward to the day I get my hands it though. In 2 months or so... if I was any good at the game😅😅😂
there is a reason why the older ships don't get played much the newer ones are just so much more powerful. It is one thing WG needs to set a plan up for is look over all the older ships to bring them in line with newer but that would be asking for too much. The torps on the vincent alone are insane then you look at the fire chance, heals etc. The new US hybrid BB looks just as bad but still not as bad as the supership idea.
The reason why they making British BC this Broken so that Soviet BC can have the excuse to making it have 40 Knots with German Armor while also have Slava Accuracy.
Tanks a casual 2.6M potential in a "battlecruiser" and still has 1/3 of his health plus 2 super heals at the end of the game. Well done, WG. Well done. At least now I don't feel so bad getting hard smashed by this thing when I come across it.

Imo no BB should be faster than Iowa, the fastest BB irl. WG really went nuts with all those giga fast, stealthy and overmatching BBs with fast turning turrets... And they slap speed boost on them left right and center. Why play cruisers these days. Its just dumb.
Early on, people looked at the armour of the St.Vincent which isn't exactly good, I looked at the speed, the HE, basically everything else, the St.Vincent HE is broken, you get pretty low dispersion, not sure about sigma, but it is a hella accurate ship. Flamu has the same reaction to the St.Vincent as I had, the Ship is really dumb. The only downside is the shell velocity.
Balancing department? Same one that brought us Smolensk ? And didn't think it was a problem? Even thunderer was bad. Just A LOT of people had no idea how to play properly.

It is still overpowered. It doesn’t need any skill to do a good game with it, it’s just farming damage with fires, very enjoyable to play against this thing
It has good concealment, speed and a superheal. Even if it takes damage, it can easily disengage. Not having high armor is not an actual downside because it doesn't need it in the first place.
Remember when we thought the Conqueror was OP, then they made Thunderer OP? Yeah, now it is St. Vincent's turn. English BBs love to BBQ whatever they see, because "historically accurate" or something like that... /s
According to wows-numbers, St.Vincent is the second best performing battleship at Tier 10 on both NA and EU, barely behind Bourgogne. So the playerbase overall definitely doesnt have any issue performing well on her. And keep in mind that, unlike Bourgogne, it's a tech tree ship! Which means that she's not locked behind any ressource requirement so any player can get her easily, making this stat even more impressive.
Just came back to the game after a long break, booted it up after watching this video, assumed it was a premium ship.. Looks like the most busted tech tree BB by far

No, the "playtesting department" is alive and well, it's also called the player base.
This will be taken down at some point and replaced just like thunderer. Itll probably be a very wanted ship in santa containers in some years

Balance shouldn't be your complaint, since every CV and every sub in the game is better than any other ship. Balance has to start there.
Remember when we thought the Conqueror was OP, then they made Thunderer OP? Yeah, now it is St. Vincent's turn.

Im in love with St. Vincent, shes so damn good and so damn fun to play.
Is she overtuned? Absolutely, but she just feels great to play.
Flamu don't forget the player base ain't Op like you..not all can use this ship this well
According to wows-numbers, St.Vincent is the second best performing battleship at Tier 10 on both NA and EU, barely behind Bourgogne.
So the playerbase overall definitely doesnt have any issue performing well on her.
And keep in mind that, unlike Bourgogne, it's a tech tree ship! Which means that she's not locked behind any ressource requirement so any player can get her easily, making this stat even more impressive.
When this ship first came out, I created a reddit post about it being more OP than Thunderer. I had a point, but downvoted to ground.
They will nerf after a year when everyone has already grinded or FXP it, mostly likely be raising the citadel so its weak armour actually matters
Just came back to the game after a long break, booted it up after watching this video, assumed it was a premium ship.. Looks like the most busted tech tree BB by far
