I want your lensa, free
1.8 are more than enough to me and I like the 55mm much more than a 50mm. Back in the analog days from the 1970´s to the 1990/2000´s a 50mm was just a "cheap" kit lens that almost everyone got together with the camera, but only a very few ever used a 50mm, I think (and many others) that lenses from 45mm and every lens shorter plus every lenses from 55mm and longer are the best choice ! I like the Sony Zeiss Sonnar 55mm 1.8 because it is so light and compact, I want it in a new and better optical version (an aperture ring will be very nice). Even better will a 60mm 2.0 be !
Bru I think f4 is good lol, me broke
Pierre buy us some
The concave element is due to the Planar design also used in the Zeiss Planar 50mm. It's actually less compact but provides bigger apertures with better sharpness and corrections than other designs.
Broo I love the vision you have to take photos and I love the way you edit you have driven me to become a better photographer, keep on being lucky
Pierre!!! only one I've seen so far to mention that you can have just as much fun with the $200 1.8 or similar!!!! Thanks for not forgetting us who are not pro shooters, having fun on a budget! Beast of lens! Great content, thanks!!!
I love watching this channel because I'm studying photography ... and I'm happy to see the tools you use ... for my LOA ... so I can get it
the 2.8 with the face closeup was sharper on his further eye and i love how you can still see some background and not it being totally blown out.
The front concave element (and hidden designs) might be the key for future small lenses with wide aperture. Not to mention the dual motors and the new AR coating. I can't wait to see some of the other rumored lenses.
I have the vanilla 50mm f/1.8 from sony, the cheap one. I`m by no means professional on photography, but trust me, it is sharpisimo! It looks so good and indeed bokeh is probably 85% of what this one has. The major differences are probably in materials, even more sharpness and just more glass, more buttons and everything. If you are starting though, the f/1.8 is a steal!
Your filming looks great! Such a good review!
I love your videos and learn many things. Love it.
Man, i love your videos. Thank you.
Love your work man it makes me want to go out and shoot !
Best reviewer! real world usage and no bs b rolls
Great clip! Looking to add this to the line up!
Greetings from Door County, WI! Love your videos Pierre. Love seeing the city too. You have me sold on the 50mm 1.2.
Hey Pierre! Love your pov videos - they are so cool. May I know which setting in gopro are you using? Autoshutter or nd filters?
Je l’attendais celle là !
Waiting all day for this video!!
Enjoy
Pierre tu es super toi! Well done review!
Great review, seems to give great results with the right settings, definitely an investment.. This is a "Bokeh Monster Beast" 0:28.. thats my new catchphrase 👍🏾 keep the content coming bro. 😎
After seeing your Vidio, it made me feel inspired and excited to do photography even though I use cellphones and amateurs ...btw I am from Indonesian ❤️🔥
I wish I could eat the creamy background.
Hi Pierre, love your contents, Comment sava ?
My question is what is the best budget sony camera📷..
Thanks in advance
Waiting for Manny and Pierre to see together..two of my fav photographer I look up the most..
Hey Pierre, what would be best for real estate photography and nighttime cityscape. EOS R6 or A7R III?
1:53 High Pitch alert 😄
I too noticed that
Hi . Thanks for all the very very interesting and useful informational videos. I would need advice; (I have a Sony a7III with sigma 85mm 1.4 and a Tamron 24-70 2.8) I need a second camera body for documentary filmmaking and I'm undecided between Leica Q2 or a Sony A7RIII with 35mm 1.4 GM ... what would you choose and why? I hope you answer me :) thanks again
LOVED IT!
Awesome, but where is the A7 IV? :D
Haha wait it's only been a month since the last camera :p
I'm waiting for it as well! Q3 of 2021 😉
(That's what rumors said)
It's out now 🤷🏻
@Pierre Love your reviews man! Out of the Sony 35mm 1.4 gm or 50mm 1.2 gm, what would you purchase first if you had to choose one for both video and stills. For instance for use in the city to capture both a model as well as background scenes? Thanks for keeping us hyped!
i have the same debate between the 2
I thought the concave design might throw extra detail round the small mount into the corners. Curious and fascinating though!
I'm such a big fan of your photography. I have a question or solution for chose the best camera for photography.
Which one is better for photography?
Sony A7iii vs Canon eso R
Please help me.
Love ya Pierre ❤
Hi Pierre, I'm Pere from Barcelona, I follow all your videos and I love them. I have a question. I want to buy a lens in the 40mm or 50mm range and am I between the Zeus Batís 40mm and the Sony Fe 50mm f / 1.2 or the f / 1.8? Which one would you recommend. I do interior photography of hotels and restaurants, food, chef, restaurant staff and if they ask me for an event, but the latter if they ask me.
Do you have to manually adjust the aperture via aperture ring only? Or can you do it electronically also? Like via app or via camera buttons/knob?
Pierre for street photography would you recommend the 85mm f1.4 or 50mm f1.4?
sold on your approach! new subscriber over here!
I would invest in the lens in the future but for now, I think I’m just going to get a zeiss 55mm 1.8
That bokeh is insane 😮 smashed the like button for the UA-cam algorithm 💪🏼
thx bro
I love your videos, they are inspiring! Hello from Russia !
I guess I will have to wait for the 50mm G series lens which will probably be f/1.4 to f/1.8 and cost $999. This lens is beautiful but that price tag is super hard to pay for when shooting primarily for UA-cam or IG.
Hi Pierre! Thanks for the balanced review of this glass. I keep trying to appreciate your “dynamic” style, come on, at least you did not make the footage while cycling and did not bang the glass to a steal railing as you did with the Sigma 65/2 to demo it was fully made of metal. :-D
I really iked the shots you captured, pretty sure you stopped for a second for composing them. Also I liked you pointing out the tiny difference in background blur between 1.2 and 1.8 glass.
Now, knowing that the 55/1.8 is sharp, light, small, and has fast and quiet AF, curious about the arguments to pick the 50/1.2 at a 2.5x price point.
I'd say autofocus speed would be one and probably the extra aperture gains... other than that if you're happy with the 1.8 right now no need to upgrade imho
I enjoy your energy.
Currently trying to switch from Nikon to Sony camera. I need a hybrid. Would you recommend the a7iii or a7riii for photo and video?
Would you compare it to Sony 55/1.8 Zeiss?
Absolutely love your videos dude, thought about the new viltrox 24mm sony?
never tried! :)
@@Pierretlambert aight dude, heard it comes pretty close to the mighty 24mm gm for only 300 euros👀
Do you think it could do Astro?😬😆 was gonna get the 24gm but since I have the 16-35gm this could be fun..
As usely hhhh he just walk in from nowher with his backpak and rendom box😂, dop vidéo bro😉 love it😉
Right direction for Sony. They shouldve done 35 1.2 for gm as they already have zeiss for 1.4.
Pietre you are The best 🤩🤩🤩
50mm is one of my most used focal length, absolutely love this! Im not your average 35mm guy haha :D Im rather 50mm and 24mm rather than 35mm and 85mm combo. I own sigma 50mm f1.4 ART and imo this is perfect middle ground for everybody and this lens is amazing sharp.
What bag are you using? Is it water proof ?
O love this channel 📸❤️
Did I hear you say “Sell all of the lenses” for this 50mm ?! Wow
Hello friend, I wanted to ask you
I have the SONY GM 24, 35, 135 lenses and I would like to obtain one more I am in doubt which of these ... SONY 85 1.8, SONY GM 85 1.4 or SONY GM 50 1.2 which would be the best option? Thanks
Salut Pierre & all, question from a beginner in photography: when you speak about 50mm, does it always make reference of full frame camera, or not necessarily ? I have an APSC, should I then refer to 35mm, as comparison ? Your help is welcome.
It will always be based on the platform the lens was intended for. Just make sure to check what body the lens are for, in this case it is a Sony FE lens, which is their full frame lineup, but due to the nature of Sony's platform, it will also work on APS-C. Generally when people refer to 50mm primes specifically, they are talking about full frame though, since APS-C 50mm is roughly 75mm equivalent depending on the camera company.
I think the 16-35mm is the best because of the wide range that it can shoots
What happened to the 16-35 lens?! I’m interesting in buying it but is it too fragile?
Not a fan of the cat eye at 1.2 - if they nailed that, I’d be much more interested at that price. Unless you need 1.2, I feel you can invest in the 35mm 1.4 and use APC mode on Sony full frame to get the 50mm reach and have two lens in one.
I wish Sony would make some tilt shift lenses instead but understand why Sony had to make it to show they can.
How did u get that high dynamic range on 8:13? I always wonder 🙈
I have 14mm and 24mm gm.. I shoot video, should I add 50mm or 85mm next? Recommendation would be great🙏🏼
Please make another video with the TT artisan 0.95
Should I get the lumix g7 or lumix gx85????
Yeah when is the 85 going to come out?
excellent video we liked it. 😃😃😃
Imagine sony sponsoring pierre in his all upcoming videos
I think with the improved High iso my 55mm Zeiss is way more than enough. It’s a great lens. This is for people who are bokeh crazy or club bar shooters in dark setting. People are too obsessed with these 1.2 or .95 lenses that are way too big and when the person you Shoot steps back your dof will increase anyways. You would shoot this at 2-4 ft to get most of the bokeh
I really like watching your video, i love photography, your video is very nice i like it
My english isn’t good, hope you understand
Is it weather sealed? I assume it is. Hope it is!
Damn Sony really is cranking out high end lenses fast! So many options.
1.2 is a fun aperture! I say own 1.8 and rent 1.2 when needed
So cool! Defently worth it
I saw this model 7:35 in Manny Ortiz's video too! Are you guys shooting together
I'd rather wait for the tests, it will be especially interesting to compare with Planar T* FE50 мм F1.4 ZA SEL50F14Z. I think Planar will be better
Nice video bro
Can you use nd filter on the lens?
can you show the parameter per photo, sorry for my english experience
I might just skip this 50mm 1.2 I’m not a huge fan on the focal length. But I’m definitely buying the 35mm GM 😁
Hey, I wanted a quick suggestion; Should I get the Canon M50 or Nikon Z50? Please help.
It depends on your use case, I own an M50 and it gets pretty grainy especially if you use it in a slightly dark scene or with the kit lens...
But, if video is your main need then it's pretty good, especially for beginners.
Z50
@@nexusproductions2064 Thank You.
Im your fans mr pierre your photo so wowwww,
Hi from indonesia
How does it handle movies??
My favorite lens is my RF 50/1.2.
Really separates the subjects!
Im considering it but seeing how much fringing it has compared to other 1.2 lenses I’m not sure anymore.
When Canon launched 50mm f1.2L many years ago, the price is around there too. There is nothing expensive about Sony 50mm f1.2 at 1999.
Your First prime lens is going to get my first too
The hype is real... i would still have preferred an even smaller 1.4 for 1500 bucks... even when i try its almost impossible to see 1.2 vs. 1.4... it just doesnt make much sense to me... hope they dp a 1.4 soon..
Where i can get this clip on strap for camera?
Bro can you Wrote your settings manual ?
I mean when you take a photo for a some people can you wrote the I you are shutter speed and Aperture please💔💔☹️☹️☹️☹️
Can anyone recommend any other Sony lens that have great bokeh depth of field but are at least $1k or less?
Can someone help me I need help how do I record slow motion? I have a esdr rebel 3
When will the video with manny ortiz be shared?
Better ttartisan 50mm 0.95 or this for budget
Good job 🤠 tomorrow they're shipping my first camera (i can't wait) A nikon d3200 and the lens are 18-105mm 3,5-5,6 (I'll buy the 35mm 1.8 too)
Are they good for a beginner as a first camera & lens? 🤠
Nowadays every camera that is made is good for a begineer. I shot with a Nikon D3100, then switched to a Nikon D7100 and now Nikon Z6II, I think the D3200+35mm 1.8G is a crazy good combo for starting out
@@bydiegopozo Lmao i still shoot with an old Sony a200, like i can't shoot above ISO 800 or the picture becomes a grainy mess. Sometimes having limitations is more of a challenge, but still i'll be upgrading as soon as i can.
@@Luke. I couldn’t agree more, sometimes limitations makes us more creative and also work harder
The d3200 is a rad beginner camera, great to get all the basics down, I started out on a d3500 then moved to mirrorless, as for the lens as the d3200 is a crop sensor the 35mm will basicly act like a 50mm and will be a great all around lens
I use nikon d5600 + 35mm 1.8 in my videos
why the color tone is red ?
1.8 will work for me just fine whenever I decide to buy it. On the fence about it because I have the 85. Time will tell I guess. 🤷🏽♂️
I'm considering purchasing the Sony A7II. I'm hearing about the battery life not lasting long. What's your take on the A7II?
Save for a A7III or a used one! Battery on A7II is not worth it indeed!!
@@Pierretlambert wow. So I'm guessing that you're running the A7III now in your video? How long is it lasting on one battery charge?
My solution is just taking 3-4 batteries with me, they're ridiculously cheap on Amazon. You can get two batteries and a two battery charger for £20. Weigh nothing too.
i know it's probably the last thing people like to hear because to you it's just how you speak but i love your accent
Just pre ordered my lens through B&H
Will you ever do a business video on the Chanel?
