Lol dude when I saw the thumbnail, a flashback to your rbg light short video lmaoooo keep it going man!
🤣
I sold the 50/1.2 for the 50/1.4GM, purely since I like the lightness and the slightly more compact size, and common filter threads with my 20/1.8 and 35/1.4GM. The 50/1.2GM was exceptional, when considered on its own merits
Thank you for the informative take
🤙
I was waiting for this video!
Great video thank you
I accidentally bought the 1.2 thinking it was the new 1.4. But I’m gonna keep the 1.2 I think. It’s delicious.
I am of the same mind... the 1.2 is really incredible and now with the f1.4... If I had not already bought the 1.2, I would have got the GM 1.4. The 1.2 though is awesome and I will probably keep it for a long time now that I have it. The IQ at waist to full body shots at 1.2 is really something special and even stopped down the backgrounds melt in a very pleasing way, which doesn't always happen with some lenses that perform well wide open. The bokeh balls also don't appear to square off when stopped down like I have seen with the new Sigma 50 f1.4 DG DN (DN stands for deez nuts), but instead stay nice and round with no cats eye at f2.5.
I have a really hard time believing how Sony keeps producing lenses that are clearly ahead of the competition in every category and it is seemingly out of nowhere. Lighter, faster, shorter/smaller, better iq in most circumstances compared with the rest of the manufacturers... I have no idea how they are nailing it every single time with their GM's. Worth every penny these GM's are.
Right
yeah i'm also amazed how small, short it's comparing to others yet much much better iq...i think they cooperate with aliens :D
flex flex flex,, thanks Vu. Love your stuff
🤙🤙🤙
Ya I think Sony should have updated that 50mm 1.8 a long time ago! I agree with you! Good video dude!
🤙
The only reason I see in still going for the 1.2 is the extra stop that helps you in studio… where I live and shoot… and always keep things on my video cage/tripod or Rhino slider…
Got the 1.4 - couldn’t justify the cost for a questionable (if negligible) difference - better spent elsewhere…
How about image quality? The 50 1.2 has a different and unique ''paste'' than all other lenses in the GM line. Does the image quality between 50 1.2 and 50 1.4 look the same to you? because if so, 1.4 would be the right choice. Smaller, lighter and it looks even sharper
Would you plz review Samyang 35-150? Plz
I effing love you homie
,🤙🤙
I agree, f/4 is pretty damn dark even on a full frame. I have to use DxO PureRAW to denoise my shots at 2.8. f/4 would be nigh unusable.
They don't send anything pre-lease to me either. I need to be a higher class UA-cam Doucher.
Lol
I feel you bro….I feel you lol 😂
What would be specific situations where the 1.2 really shines with respect the 1.4?
Low light extreme. Medium shot subject separation
@@nVuFilms Thank you so much! I suspected that there could be a significant difference for low light. You must be happy to have bought that jewel!
Vu, I was about to pickup my 1.4 from BestBuy when I remember I’m shooting on an fx30 and the crop is gonna be more like an 85mm….
Would you still take the 50mm or get the 35mm f1.4 GM first if you were in my position?
35
What about the Sony 55mm F1.8 Sonar FE? Yeah, it's not exactly 50 and it's "only" 1.8, but it's a silent, tiny, clean, excellent lens that can be had for $600-750.
It's great. But at 650-750. Might as well get a Sigma
@@nVuFilms How dare you recommend anything other than Sony??? And I used Sigmas for a couple of years at work, I'm kinda tired of them, not as good autofocus, they're larger... Unless something changed recently.
Hey Vu , I'm a douchebag amateur sometimes paid most of the time phodadgrapher. I'm with you 50 GM 1.2 is amazing and 135 GM I think is the most amazing lens that has ever been made optically. 501.4 is a business decision they will fill the gap and sell like hotcakes. An 85 1.2 GM at 2K would make it very tough tough for anyone to pass up on this mount.
I think the FE 85mm f/1.2 will cost more like ~$2700 like the Canon RF and new Nikkor Z.
Are you still using your Samyang V-AF lenses?
Yea
50mm 1.4 - Great vlogging lens
Lmao
Oh man sony it's trash for not giving you the products in advance for review. I will show you how to change that for just 29.99. Love your content. Keep it up.
Mycuteo❤️
This is the least worst of the best channels which makes it my new least unfavorable photo-gear channel on tube. In a world full of cynical narcisissts, the empathic psychopaths win, it's what I always felt and it's why my brain hit that sub button. Here to stay. Thanks!
Lol thx
*that GM 24mm lens would look AMAZING on My FX30, BUT that samyang 24mm f/1.8 looks nice but the 45mm is wide but not ultra wide correct? I always get confused with these numbering for lens. The Lower the number the wider unless it says ultra wide and the higher the number the less wider it gets if that's how I read it as I have the Sigma and Sony 16mm and 11mm f/1.4 & f/1.8*
Thanks for the video. The new 50/1.4 GM is really like the 35/1.4 GM going on a post holiday diet since it lighter than 35/1.4. Don’t shame it’s weight😅
👍
@@nVuFilms Couldn’t finger your video that compared the FE 50/1.2 GM to the Canon RF 50/1.2L. Can you provide a link? Thank you in advance.
Already purchased the 50mm F1.2 for one nut. Therefore, everything else is trash...
Play back at 1.25x and listen to you say dg dn and what follows!
Lol
You've 'ruined' my ability to hear any other UA-camr talk about a Samsung DN lens.
Lol
They should out the douche 85mm 1.2
Not Deez Nutz…Lol
I think Sony had to introduce the 50/1.2, due to the nonsense stated by Nikon that the Sony mount is incapable of accommodating an f/1.2 aperture. Sony just had to dispel that myth and cast it to the trash-bin that it belonged to.
I have the same lenses as you except 35mm. I got 16-35 gm. Instead
