I wish they had quiet spaces or just a soft piano playing. In the Plaza it was always loud music and you had to almost yell to talk to someone. They have a piano, but never did we notice anyone playing it. On Holland America they have a symphony that is wonderful to listen to and quiet areas to relax. We love it when they have violinists that play soft, relaxing music. We noticed the windows were not cleaned and never clear. Our deck had bird pooh every day, etc. You could tell it was not being cleaned. On other cruises, you always had a clean deck. Toilet problems lasted several days and we were given excuses like well, kids are flushing things they should not. Though we never experienced this on other cruises. It is awful when you cannot flush your toilet. Doors including elevator needed to be repaired or replaced. They had many dings and missing paint. We did enjoy the food and tea time. The staff were quite nice and accommodating. Also the ports of call were great. There were some lovely areas that were pristine.
Yes, the smell is still there and no water to flush some time to time. I had to call guests services a few time a day. It happened to me 4 days in a 7 day cruise. Then it stopped. It then happened to my sister deck after that. I am happy with everything, except no water to flush when you needed. Not sure I want to be in this situation again.
Jayson you described our experience to a “T”. The ship was awful. I will NEVER sail on that ship again, very disappointing! The food on the buffet was not good, but loved Sabatini. The food was excellent! The dining rooms were good enough. The entertainment was horrible! Never again on this ship!
I would agree with your comments regarding Caribbean princess I’ve not been on that particular ship, but we were recently on the Ruby princess and the smells were offensive so I get it. As far as entertainment goes the question is this are you on the ship to go from a to B and have a port intensive experience? Are you on the ship to enjoy the entertainment on the ship itself? I choose to cruise to get from A to B to see spectacular ports, such as Dubrovnik Croatia, comfortably and I don’t really Expect, a star studed production on board the ship, that’s not my main objective. If it’s any consolation have done to Hall in America cruises, their entertainment is absolutely bottom of the barrel compared to Princess. I agree celebrity has a much more upscale entertainment production than Princess, and certainly more than Holland America. But the question is why are you on a cruise??? Cruises offer a comfortable way to go and see spectacular places. I am taking Caribbean princess from Southampton next July and will get to see Cork Ireland three ports in Iceland, plus northern Scotland, all in a very comfortable hotel with meals and transportation included. I don’t care if the entertainment sucks, I really don’t expect five star dining either. That’s not why I’m on the ship.
We're going on the Caribbean next year...for a 14 day British Isles cruise. I am so worried about the smells issues. Will they be worse by then...or will Princess have fixed whatever issues are happening? Fingers crossed they get to whatever is causing this problem. We'll be in a mid-aft mini-suite...our first time in that type of cabin. I sure hope it's worth it for a two week cruise.
Yeah - we're sailing on her in November of 2024 on a transatlantic from Rome to Ft Lauderdale. Hopefully the smell has been long since take care of. Although unless they reduce the amount of smoking in the casino or block it off more, there's not a lot you can do about the smoke smell. We're not really bothered by that, but the other comments on smell don't sound good.
Just had the exact experience last week on RCI Voyager of The Seas! Old ship that was supposedly refurbished in 2019 - NOT!! Certain areas (especially at the theater) smelled like decades long collection of spilled drinks, bad feet, vomit, and BO. Don’t get me started on the occasional whiffs of skunk scented weed. Probably my last RC voyage.

Just got off this ship in April of 24,no smell issues that we noticed.
