    I had a home based business for twenty years and loved (almost) every minute of it! We were able to feel comfortable financially to have five children, and to home school them, as well. It was a wonderful way to raise the kids. My husband was even able to retire from his job and help with it all. (I also hired a wonderful young woman who helped with the business, the house and the kids- wherever needed.) No two days looked exactly alike, which I liked a lot. I wish you all the best! Congratulations on the 113,000 subscribers I see on the screen today!!

    I've always interested in sewing (at least my own dress) but hadn't found any courage to dive into it until I saw your channel. You've encouraged me to get started. I dragged my mom's old sewing machine out of the garage and had it repaired, and without realising it, I've now made two pieces of clothing items, several scrunchies, and cute pouches. SO, you deserve a massive thank you from me. You're an inspiration.

    Seamstress? In Spanish it's so much easier, we call ourselves Costureras. You could say "La Costurera" and not worry about appropriation (I certainly don't. Nobody owns words) When I googled "Minimalist Dressmakers" I found your video, so you can certainly stick with "Dressmaker". I actually much prefer "The Dressmaker" anyway. It's an honourable and very ancient profession we should all be proud of. Glad I found your channel. 2.8K as of today! Congratulations!

    If I were you I would say that I am a business person that is into designing patterns, garments and
    that you also are master seamstress and do alterations and repairs to garments to make them presentable again. You wear many hats in the garment world. That should cover it. I really enjoy your videos and have learned a lot from you. I have been sewing since I was about 10 and my motto is you are never to old to learn new things I am 70 and I'm still learning. Thank you for all your great educational videos on your channel.

    You packaged that beautifully and sending the tracking information to the customers is an excellent idea.🤩
    Your hard work is admirable and I'm greatful to see this 'day in the like of' style video, it goes to show that this can be a full time job thus it makes sense when those attempting this as a side business struggle.
    Quality and good customer service matter, I remember an Ebay seller who had sold loads sending me my order in a little taped up plastic carrier bag with notepad paper taped on. 😆 Not complaining, it was just funny.
    I remember a buyer stealing off me by badgering me into ending an auction, then she wanted her item economy, then she claimed she was never sent it. I was a lot younger at the time.

    Congratulations on 100,000 subs!
    I was wondering- have you thought of doing sewing/dressmaking courses? I for one would totally be interested in purchasing! You could do a beginner level and an intermediate level maybe?
    I have watched a whole bunch of videos online and have various bits of info in my head but I have no idea where to start..i started on a dress a few months ago and it remains unfinished because it was just too hard of a project. It would be really nice to have an online course with step by step instructions on how to practice tips/projects, ways to improve etc. Other topics that seem elusive to me, a complete beginner- how to know what cloth material to buy/ how much of it to buy, how to online shop for material (both budget friendly + nicer quality), selecting thread based on material.

    It’s quite a while since you made this video so perhaps what I’m about to say is redundant. But jic here goes.
    Download the Aust Post App. Then when you post an item and the post office has attached the ‘bar code’ to the parcel, then go into the postal app and select Add, then Scan. And use your phone to scan the ID code. It will register on your list in the App, so all you need to do is ‘name’ and if you want ‘share’ and immediately send the Tracking info to the receiver
    Honestly it is so quick and foolproof
    You are a clothing designer and pattern maker who also creates video tutorials that assist people make your patterns.

      @@RoseryApparel thanks for the response. I haven't missed a week of upload since January of this year. And I share sewing tutorials which I think are valuable. Someone told me to incorporate my personality, I've been trying to do that, but I haven't noticed that much of a change

    Rosery do you have any tips of how to make a 3D fitted, off-the-shoulder, (one-shoulder) fitted halter top? I have only the client's high bust and bust measurements to work from. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    • @lizolade3684
      @lizolade3684 2 роки тому

      @ Monica If you want to be able to measure the client, the client can send you their 3D using the OVTMT app and you can directly measure her on there to make the halter top.

    I would agree with most comments on here regarding your "title" Pattern designer & Content Creator I think fit you best :) I have a question about how you learned to draw your patterns digitally. I personally know how to draw a pattern both by hand on paper and in CAD programs but I wouldnt have a clue on how to accurately make it in Illustrator (I guess that;s what you use). Did you learn through a course or is it fully self thought?

    • @RoseryApparel
      @RoseryApparel  4 роки тому

      Yes I like both of those too! I do use illustrator for my patterns, but I don’t have the illustrator skills to draw them perfectly myself so I scan my hand-drawn patterns and pay a professional to draw them in illustrator 😊

    Do you find that your hands and wrists get sore from dressmaking? I’d love to do some dress making, but worried that it will be hard on my body

      Great question! Not my hands or wrists so much, but my back does get sore and I need to be careful about my posture 😊

    I am currently pregnant with my second baby. A struggle for breastfeeding mamas is what to wear to church when dresses are very rarely breastfeeding friendly. We can either wear a dress or a skirt. With most of the skirts I own I have to tuck the shirt in so even a skirt and shirt option is hard to breastfeed in. It would be great if you could make a tutorial on how to transform a dress into a breastfeeding dress and how that could work or make a pattern for a modest maternity dress with breastfeeding in mind.

      The camera I use is a Canon G7X ii and I use premiere pro to edit 😊 Some sort of lighting is also handy. I currently just use natural light which can be frustrating as it constantly changes depending on the weather!
