Painting my van in full raptor and using this video as a guide, have no idea where all the negative comments are from - gave me all the info I was missing, everything else is in the manual. Thanks for the video lads, really helped.
WOW, It sure is great that you don't answer questions. Saved me a lot of time reading comments and learning additional information that is important to using this product.
Actually Raptor are superb at answering questions - that said you'd need to pick up the phone or email them. Maybe your parents don't trust you with the phone yet.
Please post the information to achieve the different textures. You only briefly talk about it. One of the primary focus of this video is the finish. Smooth finish - 60 PSI, 12 inches away, 2mm gun tip, slow sweep, 50% overlap. This is the info that is most important.
Great vid. I have painted my full T4 in black. Unique look and so cheap. £250 all in. Get loads of comments everywhere I go. If I had seen this video before I did it I think the results would have been even better! If you are thinking about it, just do it!
Anyone know the perfect mix for a r500 lvlp spray gun with a 2mm nozzle. Looking to paint my van black. Looking for a smooth finish. Should i just rejuice it 20% and run a couple of tests.
So am I right in thinking I can mix this 3:1 in a cup rather than having to use a full bottle? Sounds like a stupid question but just need to make sure
@@CombeValleyCampers that’s great thanks and metallic paint is ok to also use? Also would I benefit using a 2.5 HVLP to get a fine finish or is 1.8 enough I’m wanting sort of 120 grit maybe 180 grit finish
I would avoid the spray can version, it's crap. It comes out too quickly and it's hard you have to spray it had a long distance. The litre product is best and you MUST use a very nozzle, not a crappy Shults gun. The " very nozzel " can be bought for £62 but shop around on ebay. I painted the underside of my bay in my garagevon my back, I prepped it very well, and the results were spectacular. Its looks like a factory finish. There is another video on UA-cam by an Asian company who actually show you how to paint it on consistently. This video fails to do that. But it is a fantastic product with great results. The finish looks very professional. The only issue I encountered was the gun clogging up if you take a long time. One remedy is to open up the nozzel, but this leads to an inconsistency in texture. My advice, only mix up what you need, and clean the gun after 1 lite bottle has been used. Do not rush it, keep you distance, ( practice at least 40-60 cm) otherwise you get black gloss spots. Can't recommend it enough.
With normal painting there seems to be a lot of skill... (Orange peel, sheen and shine etc)... is this more forgiving with the texture and forgiving where a novice can do it... I am wanting to Raptor line my own 1992 JEEP XJ... I don't want perfection, but rather want it to look good, not perfect. I believe I can do good prep work.
GREAT job loll, all cars most of if people can see that avoid many idiots on the road and parking areas, that they do nothing BUT sabotage your car, it will be easier to paint it to patch up all the damages that they some do today, as of JEALOUSY as of course otherwise cost a fortune to match the colour on glossy cars, there's not much difference,BUT only for those who CHARGE 10 times the price RIGHT, they take your blood if they can it's way to much, i think it's great idea, to paint the car yourself, with fine text RAPTOR, GGOD ON YA POMES
I was so disappointed! Watched the whole video but you missed the relevant information! What different pressures create? what size of tip did you use? such as on the variable nozzle gun you used for the red body what did you set it to and what pressure? It would of been good to seen an amateur spray it, so people can learn from any mistakes made if any!
well..... seems that actually your opinion may just be your opinion as over here where I live, its the raptor painted ones which are selling so much more quickly than regular ones - from the point of view being that if someone scratches up their wagon.... that its a relatively simple method to get it touched up again and doesn't require specialist painting skills. loads of the van lifers are buying up raptor to the point where there's always local shortages at the dealers around me here.
@equipeaudiovisualNI The more vans get covered in raptor paint, the less original vans are available to those who wish to purchase them. In the short term, demand may be high for raptor painted vans, but long-term original vans with normal paint will always be worth more. Eventually raptor painted vans will be restored to original type paint simply because original vans will be worth more.
@@T4TipsGuidesand the reason there will be vans available to do that is that there was an option available for a lot more people to cheaply cover their scratched up van in some protective paint, instead of it rusting away
Using this is fine if you have a rusty old shitter, with lots of quick repairs. Anything decent, painted with this, is worth at least 10% less, and most prospective buyers won't be interested.
Thanks for your comments John. At the end of the day, this is a free guidance video on UA-cam, not a 3 year apprenticeship at a college or paint shop. Have a great day.

Awesome video! Very informative

80 psi plus 2 oz of urethane gives the smoothest texture
Great vid.

Thats awesome! Great job
Great in Depth tortourial. Will be heplfull to raptorized my T25 soon
So glad you enjoyed it. When the time comes, check out our website as we have all the equipment in bundles to help you. 😀
Awesome video! What mask/filters are you using when spraying as can see you didn't use an air fed mask with it being 2k
Great informative video! What is the name of the pigment paste you use?
What type of hvlp gun, what pressure, what thinner and what nozzle size?
I found around 50 psi works well with a 2.0-2.5mm tip with a urethane reducer I went with the medium
Lee your site only has kits for a full van. I only need a small amount to do some individual parts. Will you stock the litre bottles or spray cans?

Absolutely correct 👍

What size air compressor do I need when using the schutz gun?
At least 50ltrs, but preferably 100ltrs

We have another video using raptor :)
@CombeValleyCampers I'm not seeing this other video you referred to. ?
Looks like stainless steel not aluminium
Me personally any one who paints their t4 t5 in this paint just devalues there van
I agree, the whole van looks like a gypsy job. Keep it for key areas only.

Good content but spoilt by garbage music
Meh.. Line-x =D
This is for a DIY person who likes to be creative. Go spend your money.
Music during the commentary is absolutely annoying

Twats are us 😢
Please rename your product to craptor 😅😅
What's with the horrendous orange peel , clowns ,?
It's orange peeled to fuck 😢😢
that's one of the paints major benefits, as explained. If you don't like it then don't do it.
Useless. You missed so much in this. Amateurs!

Where is your video showing us how to do it better? I didn't think so.
