Why is the Godhead FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE In Modern JUDAISM?

  • I've met many Jews who had no idea that a Godhead was part of their theology once. I have since discovered, as an academic, that what we're going to talk about today was sort of looked at as forbidden knowledge. There were certain passages in the Old Testament that you shouldn't be reading. And you shouldn't be studying without a rabbi with you to steer you from one direction to the other. To give you the standard interpretation or denial of what the text was actually saying. Check it out!

The Godhead wasn't fulfilled in the Old Testament and you are not interpreting in the Spirit of truth. You have the spirit of error. We are not supposed to treat teaching the Word as a career option and you are not a "doctor" of the Word of God because it cannot be taught by men or university. Hence the reason most of you are in serious error.

The gospel also isn't being a merchant. All of you are selling merchandise along with your "word". What did Jesus say about selling in the temple? If you have made this platform the alleged temple of the Word of God that is another way you are in error.
Can none of you have another way to profit other than authoring books of falsehoods? I know that you have studied the Book of Enoch. What does it say about men writing words that deceive and how they will be viewed by God?

@@walleras In order to have an actual discussion, there should be mutual respect, and I would like to explain why I am convinced Yeshua is the promised Jewish Messiah.
Let me preface this by saying that I love Israel and the Jewish people. I am truly grateful that I have been allowed to peek into the life of the Jewish people, and I see a group of people with a rich history that effects the entire world. Archaeology is further proving this. Not only that, God is bringing the Jews back to Israel from across the world, and that is also prophetic (Jeremiah 32:37-40).
I really would like to understand why you do not believe Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah, or what do you believe about the Messiah? Further, as a Jewish person, as I would assume you are, how do you practice your religion? How often do you read the scriptures?
Isaiah 53 is an interesting chapter, is it not? Let's read some of the verses closely for comparison. 5-But he was pained because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; the chastisement of our welfare was upon him, and with his wound we were healed. 8-From imprisonment and from judgment he is taken, and his generation who shall tell? For he was cut off from the land of the living;because of the transgression of my people, a plague befell them.
Why would Israel, since you refer to Israel in this case, suffer for “our iniquities” and the “transgression of my people?” This is clearly an indication that someone else is suffering. Also, why would Israel be cut off from the land of the living? Israel was never cut off, but simply scattered. Refer to my vs on Jeremiah above.
I truly hope you earnestly seek guidance on this. Yeshua was not Italian, nor Greek, but Jewish. My Jewish brothers who believe in him as Messiah are still Jewish. Their identity is not removed, and I would not wish them to remove it. Soon, Israel will mourn for the one whom they pierced. Zechariah 12:10-And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they shall look unto Me because they have thrust him through; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his first-born.
My own experience in life led me to Israel and the scriptures of the Old Testament. The New Testament simply is a fulfillment of what the Old Testament foretold. I may not have a Jewish background, but I have a love for the Jewish people because of this. I consider the Rabbi I spoke with a friend, and appreciate his willingness to sit down and talk.
The Fonz, would you please take a look at the context of the what the text says of Yeshua cleansing the temple? Here is what the text says. Mt 21:12-13-And Yeshua entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. He said to them, “It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you made it a den of robbers.” The OT references are this. IS 56:7-these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in the house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer. Jer 7:11-Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? For context I shared all of this to clarify the conditions of what was going on. Temple worship was being reduced to a money-making scheme, when it should have been used as a joyful house of prayer for the people.
I also am not aware of your evidence to support Yeshua having children, as there is no indication of this in the scriptures. Please elaborate.
I took the time to share all of this because I do not hate you. I care for you, and simply desire to share my own experience into this.
      Shalom.

It’s pretty simple if you learn before you say something like your father satan would want. Elohim has a lot more meanings than one and refers to residence as in any disembodied member of the spirit world.
Yahweh the father is a who with a divine nature at the corner of the triangle, the Holy Spirit is a who with a divine nature at the other corner and Jesus is a who with a human and divine nature at the point of the triangle. The triangle together forms 3 who’s that are 1 what, and that one what is God. Daniel 7: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like the son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence”. Who’s is this son of man approaching God? It’s the visible yahweh Jesus. Funny how that’s Jewish theology and they declared it heresy in the 1st century because all there fathers before them said it was the 2nd power in heaven and accepted it, the other yahweh, which is why they used Elohim in Old Testament days. Jews after Jesus they knew it challenged their belief that Jesus wasn’t God also they Got rid of it because they can’t know Jesus due to their heart and lack of search for the truth. Everyman must be enabled BY God to come to the correct Belief system. All men aren’t good unfortunately, but those who search for the truth without bias always find Jesus as God. And find love as a result. Those who are called to Jesus from all religions everyday. Islam is full of pride made hundreds and hundreds of years after Christianity and is ultimately fake and set up by satan and it’s obvious it doesn’t match with the rest of the revelations of Gos. Reference to the Godhead comes immediately in the first three verses of Scripture! "In the beginning God (bereshit elohim) CREATED heaven and earth" (Gen 1:1). Right there you have God the Father (Creator). "Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the SPIRIT of God was hovering over the water" (Gen 1:2). There you have the Holy Spirit of God performing His creative activity among creation. "And God SAID, 'Let there be light,' and there was light" (Gen 1:3). God spoke His WORD. The Word was the Logos, the Logos the pre-incarnate Christ, the Son. In the NT of course Jesus Christ is synonymous with the Word. So then, in the earliest verses of Scripture appear Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

But it’s not like there was one...and then two with the “begetting” of the Son, or logos. The Son has been co-eternal with the Father. “Begotten” is used only to describe when God made Himself flesh. He’s always been eternally the same, since God is unchangeable, immutable. I was, I am, and always will be.

Seriously? Can you all tell me why Jesus would have resurrected himself in his body and why he doesn't discard it into nothing but spirit? There are three separate beings God the Father has a body, Jesus Christ now has a body, (Christ is our creator, the worlds creator and our Lord and Savior) working under the direction of the Father, and the Holy Ghost (is a spirit does not have a body yet, in order to enter all those he see's fit of his presence and help) the are the Godhead all one in unity and purpose. It's easy to study and come to the conclusion. People trying to make some nonsense theories of God being a substance in and around and nothing is, well nothingness basically and it is just not what I'm willing to believe in our all powerful glorified God or Lord Jesus Christ. We are all God's spirit children whom He sent here to earth to gain our bodies and learn from them so we can learn to become more like him. We hopefully will return to God unless we choose to follow Satan who rebelled against God's plan for giving us our agency to choose to follow him or not.

The other Heavenly King in the Daniel 7 passage I believe is Adam. For Adam was the first man on the earth to begin the days of this world, that's why hes called the Ancient Of Days. Because Adam lived till 900 or so years old before he had died so he didn't die straight away when he ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil but he did die 930 years later (Genesis 5:5), and that's why hes called the Ancient of days. But hes not God the Eternal Father or Elohim our Heavenly Father... The guy you saw sitting up on the throne in Ezekiel 1 was Our Heavenly Father. The Most High God. And Jesus Christ is his Son whom he had sent down to earth..
So if that heavenly king is Adam who was the oldest person on the earth, then its obvious that
Adam had made reconcilation with God after his transgression in the Garden and God had
forgiven him and let him return back again into his presence through repentance otherwise he would not be sitting as an exalted man on a throne up in heaven with glory and power and flames in his eyes. So if this is the end result of the fall to bring man again back into the glory and presence
of God to become like of the Eloheim to dwell with him in glory in heaven then the Fall must've
been a part of God's plan for this end..
So that means Just as our Article of Faith states that 'Men will be held accountable for their own sins, and not for Adam's Transgression' Because God has forgiven him.
So to find out the truth, we just compare the two verses together.
      4. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die.
      5. For God doth know that in the day that ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods knowing good and evil.
After eating of the fruit, God said this to Adam to confirm the truth the devil told Eve: 'Behold the man has become as one of US to know good and evil.' (Genesis 3:22)
Why does God have the forbidden knowledge of good and evil? It wasn't just Adam who had
that knowledge. God The Father also had the same knowledge. .Just as Jesus Christ himself had to choose obedience to overcome opposites or temptations as Jesus confessed also how he became like God his Father in Revelations Chapter 2-3 when talking to all the seven churches. He had to learn to overcome opposites.....
God is not alone, he belongs to a kingdom of God.
The Clues are Given also in Revelations Chapter 4 and Chapter 5
In Chapter 4 you have the 24 heavenly Kings also all seated up around God the Father and
the Lamb up in heaven wearing the crowns of eternal life, note the angels who were standing around the thrones didn't wear the crowns, but only the heavenly kings wore the crowns, so these were once saints that lived on the earth who had overcome and entered into their exaltation sitting as gods ruling with God the Father and they now worship God the Father and the Lamb so there's a whole group of heavenly kings that rule with God the Father and the Lamb.
You also have the clue Jesus gives about inheriting a throne from the Father : 'He who overcomes I will grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I am set also with my father in his throne.'
So the promise to the saints is that they will inherit a throne from God if they overcome.
In Chapter 5 God the Eternal Father is seen sitting up on his throne while the Lamb of God is approaching up to the Father's throne to open up the sealed book out of the Father's hand so
there are two figures here. As only the Lamb of God (Jesus) was the only one who
could open the seals of this Book that the Father had in his hand who sat upon
      the throne.

(From his commentary on Isaiah, quoted in The Fifty-third Chapter of Isaiah According to the Jewish Interpreters, Ktav Publishing House, 1969, Volume 2, pages 99-114.)
Rabbi Moses Maimonides: (1135-1204) "What is the manner of Messiah's advent....there shall rise up one of whom none have known before, and signs and wonders which they shall see performed by him will be the proofs of his true origin; for the Almighty, where he declares to us his mind upon this matter, says, `Behold a man whose name is the Branch, and he shall branch forth out of his place' (Zech. 6:12). And Isaiah speaks similarly of the time when he shall appear, without father or mother or family being known, He came up as a sucker before him, and as a root out of dry earth, etc....in the words of Isaiah, when describing the manner in which kings will hearken to him, At him kings will shut their mouth; for that which had not been told them have they seen, and that which they had not heard they have perceived." (From the Letter to the South (Yemen), quoted in The Fifty-third Chapter of Isaiah According to the Jewish Interpreters, Ktav Publishing House, 1969, Volume 2, pages 374-5)
    Also from the Rambam Maimonides:
“Whoever does not believe in him (Messiah), or does not await his coming, denies not only the other prophets but also the Torah and Moses, our teacher, for the Torah attests to his coming.” Source: Hilchos Melachim from the Mishneh Torah of the Rambam, 11:1.
Rabbi Moses, 'The Preacher'(11. Century) wrote in his commentary on Genesis (page 660):
"From the beginning God has made a covenant with the Messiah and told Him,'My righteous Messiah, those who are entrusted to you, their sins will bring you into a heavy yoke'..And He answered, 'I gladly accept all these agonies in order that not one of Israel should be lost.' Immediately, the Messiah accepted all agonies with love, as it is written: 'He was oppressed and he was afflicted'."
Targum Jonathan ( 4th Century ) The Aramaic translation of Isaiah 53, ascribed to Rabbi Jonathan ben Uzziel, a disciple of Hillel, begins with the simple and worthy words:
Behold my servant Messiah shall prosper; he shall be high, and increase, and be exceeding strong: as the house of Israel looked to him through many days, because their countenance was darkened among the peoples, and their complexion beyond the sons of men. (Targum Jonathan on Isaiah 53 )
Zohar: Rabbi Simeon Ben Jochai (2nd Century), "There is in the garden of Eden a palace called : 'The palace of the sons of sickness, this palace the Messiah enters, and summons every sickness, every pain, and every chastisement of Israel: they all come and rest upon Him. And were it not that He had thus lightened them off Israel, and taken them upon Himself, there had been no man able to bear Israel's chastisement for the transgression of the law; this is that which is written, 'Surely our sicknesses he has carried' Isa.53,4).- As they tell Him (the Messiah) of the misery of Israel in their captivity, and of those wicked ones among them who are not attentive to know their Lord, He lifts up His voice and weeps for their wickedness; and so it is written, 'He was wounded for our transgressions' (Isa.53,5), Zohar part II, page 212a and III, page 218a, Amsterdam Ed.):
There are other supporting comments in Jewish literature to show that this Isaiah 53 passage has been traditionally thought of as referring to the Messiah and not to the Nation of Israel as a whole.
In the chapter of Isaiah preceding the Isaiah 53 passage God's "servant" is spoken of in a clear Messianic reference. Since there were no chapter breaks in the original document many scholars believe that this part of Isaiah 52 clearly belongs with Isaiah 53.
"Behold, My servant shall be wise, he shall be exalted and lofty, and shall be very high," (Isaiah 52:13). His wisdom shall exceed even that of King Solomon.(1)
Let the Truth about Isaiah 53 be known to all who seek Him

That is true. But there are organizations who have made it their sole purpose to make a "literal" (as literal as can be done over time and language) translation of the original text we have. Idk about other religions but as far as Christianity goes, my wife and I read from English translations of The Scriptures. Not "the bible. The literal translation has some pretty significant key word differences that can change the verse message. We do have plenty of bibles in all the various translations but we just pull those out when we have an issue interpreting the message because of the sentence structures of it being a "literal translation"

I would say the trinitarian understanding is incorrect. The New Testament displays the 2 powers in heaven doctrine but as Jesus acting as God by bearing God's name. Other examples we see this in is the Book of Enoch and rabbinic sources on Metatron. I wish scholars would explain how the doctrine of 2 powers in heaven is not the doctrine of the trinity.

What could be considered a primitive trinitarianism was present in intertestamental Jewish religious literature. The rabbis were not opposed to the idea of a Godhead, in principle. The primitive trinitarianism of the rabbis obviously wasn't as robust and extensive as it later became via the ecumenical councils in the post-Apostolic era, but it definitely was there!

      Moises was never called God.
      Read you Bible better.
      Exosdus 7:1 New International Version
Then the LORD said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet
      Moises was made( like).
Of Corse it was used in plural because God himself was a plural name .
So as you know so much , please explain the genesis account of us
Also all used of plural forms for God , not only Elohim but also plural verbs .
      Abraham said they cause me
Ishaiah says your makers are you husbands
Also the holy ones of Israel
      And so much more.
Can you also provide any quote Moises being called God by any Israelite?
Moises was called like God only because God gave Moises the function of God.
It seems because the word Elohim here means plural also Moises had to be plural in him self ?
What a bad interpretation you have .
So one single person cannot do a job of a group of persons?
So Moises being one person cannot do a job of a triune God , if he is called to do ?
Lol how bad is this interpretation.
So on your view one must be identical to the other to do the same job.
But by the way( us) in Genesis express this idea of plurals in humanity it self .
      Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
      Look created him
      Singular
Him = them male and female
His Image = man= male and female
So man has plurality in himself
      As God does .

What about these two scriptures “Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he [was] the priest of God Most High.” (Genesis 14:18 NKJV)
    and
13 ¶ And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “[Are] You for us or for our adversaries?” 14 So He said, “No, but [as] Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?” 15 Then the Commander of the LORD’S army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand [is] holy.” And Joshua did so.” (Joshua 5:13-15 NKJV). Clearly one was a priest of God and he was Christ in the NT and the other commander of Gods army but was worshiped. Evidence of two beings.

      stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
      he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
      each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
      the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
      yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.
8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
Yet who of his generation protested?
      For he was cut off from the land of the living;
for the transgression of my people he was punished.
9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
      11 After he has suffered,
      he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
because he poured out his life unto death,
and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors.

There is also John 1:1, "in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God. The same was with God in the beginning. All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made, that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. One of my favorites. But, I realize this is not Old Testament.

Actually John is describing the aleph tav which is a word in the first sentence in genesis and explaining how it fits in with God. The word is et. It is used with a verb, in the case of the first sentence that would be "created" (barah). "Beginning" is the word bereshit. Elohim is the first name we see for God the Father. SO the heavens and the earth are made through Him, Jesus, the alpha and omega which in Hebrew is aleph tav. "In the beginning created Elohim ET the heavens and ET the earth." There are a couple of videos on the internet that do it better justice but I hope that helps.

The New Testament is the GREEK translation of the Hebrew Book of Isaiah and they changed YaH The Father with their GREEK god ZEUS, where the name “jesus/he-ZEUS (breath of ZEUS)” and the “virgin birth” LIES came from.
Let’s look at the Hebrew Book of Isaiah, let’s see what it says
      Isaiah 9:6
      Which reads:
For unto us a Lad is arrived, the government shall be upon his shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty One, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
“a Lad is arrived” - NOT “a child born”
“Everlasting Father” - YaH is The FATHER NOT this jesus
      Isaiah 7:14
      Which reads:
Therefore YaH Himself shall give you a sign: behold, the young maiden shall bring forth a Lad, and shall call his name ImmanuEl.
“a young maiden shall bring forth a Lad”
ImmanuEl translates “with us is GOD”

Trinity is a manmade doctrine derived from pagan gods. It is a lie perpetrated by Yahweh's enemies for their gain.
Yahweh is the Holy Spirit. Yahweh was made flesh. "The son" when it was time. Yahweh completed His name. Yahushua. Meaning He Yahweh will save His people from their sin. Yahushua has all power after His death because He was Yahweh from the beginning!
There never were 3 coeternal beings in a committee.
One Holy Spirit created all that is and lived as the image creature He chose to be as a man for 29 years to reveal Himself and His nature to His creation. The invisible revealed in the visible. Heaven to earth and back again. Eternal to mortal and back again. It's pretty simple!

These passages can be explained from that foundation, not from a trinitarian one, such as Heiser is deceptively doing. Whoever reads this, please don't be gullible to such erroneous theology.

If God was alone and there is only one creator, and God and YHWH are the same diety, who is he talking to?..... Anywhere the word lord appears, that is a translation of YHWH, yehweh or jahova, as in YEHshua, eliJAH the word God is a translation of EL.as in israEL, gabriEl, michaEL, uriEL..the ELohim (nephELim) are the children of the God El, in original canannite religion before israelites were monotheistic, El and YhWH were identified as two separate dieties..Furthermore. in Genesis..On the third day God (el) created the vegetation that grew on the earth, then three days later God (el) created man and woman in their image, at the same time, on the sixth day....then in the next chapter, the Lord God (yhwh) created adam from dust before any vegetation had even grown, so that had to be before the third day. Lord God (YHWH) then created eve from adams rib, this happened after vegetation began to grow, so that was after the third day...There are two separate accounts of two separate men and two separate women being created in two separate manners by two separate dieties at two separate moments in time....please explain that. In the ancient 1700 year old coptic translation of john 1:1 it states"In the beginning existed the word, and the word existed with God, and a God was the word" similarly put as "in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was a God".. If the Word is identified as Jesus, and Jesus is often called the Lord, and the lord(YhWH) was with God(el) in the beginning, we have proof of two Gods in the old testament. El is the father and YHwH is the son. This is how Jesus is able to be God in the flesh on earth, but also able to speak to God the father that is in heaven. No man may know God(el), the most high, it is only Jesus, the Lord (YHWH) who knows the father, for no one goes to the Father except through christ, our Lord who is YHWH. Thesselonians 1 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God (el) our Father, and the Lord (YhWH) Jesus Christ.

You know, I've put a lot of thought, and have heard the arguments that you can't understand or fully reveal the message of the scriptures, unless you learn Hebrew! And my conclusion, being a limited man in knowledge, I find 1 major discrepancy with that belief! And that is that it suggests a limited god! As if man and/or the devil have out smarter God through translation! Granted, the last words of the complete books, revelation warns that who ever adds or takes from these words of prophecy, to him his name will be removed from the book of life, which in itself reveals that it would happen as God words are eternal and purposeful! In other words, he wouldn't waste his breath with that warning, unless it was going to happen! But I cannot believe, not accept that his message would be lost through translation! Yeshua told his disciples to go into ALL the world and preach the gospels! Which tells me that, regardless of man and the devils attempt to discredit the KJV Holy Bible, his message IS still therein! Other wise, the devil would win, and we know that's not the case! And for the record, I do believe that reading the scriptures in Hebrew sheds more light and understanding, than any other translated additions! Mostly because of the language itself! To conclude, Nobody will ever prevent the will of the Father! I trust in him! Yehovah's blessings and shalom!

The Spirit is like water that can fill multiple vessels yet is still one, echad.
The first echad in scripture describes night and day as being echad, one day. The word for God in Hebrew is Elohim, a collective noun -- like a family -- hence, let US make man in OUR image.
The Aaronic high priest bore the name YHWH openly on his forehead and represented the invisible YHWH of Israel bearing their sins with the names of the 12 tribes on his body (Christ is the head, His bride is His body, high priest after the likeness of Melchizedek).
In the future temple, the high priest will openly bear the name in vain, and spiritually we see the true nature (Rev 17.5) being in defiance of the new and better covenant ratified in the blood of Yeshua.

    Godhead?
The term: Godhead is found only in the King James Bible and the New King James Version. It is not found in the Greek manuscripts. It would take two Greek words to make up the one word: “Godhead”. It is described as God being The Father, Son and Holy Spirit as One Being: a trinity. This is not possible while Jesus was on the earth.
Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who ‘was made a little lower than the angels’, now crowned with glory and honor (after the ascension) because He suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.
Acts 10:38 And you know that God 'anointed' Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Jesus called Himself Son of Man because He was made a little lower than the elohim. We are elohim also but there is a Chain of Command.
1st Corinthians 11:3 I want you to know that the Head of the woman is man. The Head of the man is Christ and the Head of Christ is God. (His Father)
John 20:17 Jesus said, Do not cling to Me, I have not yet ascended to My Father. Go and tell My brothers that I will ascend to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God.
1st Corinthians 15:27 Berean Standard Bible
For “God has put everything under His feet.” Now when it says that everything has been put under Him, this clearly does not include the One who put everything under Him.
Acts 10:37 You yourselves know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee with the baptism that John proclaimed: 38 how God ‘anointed’ Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.
Colossians 2:9 For in Christ all the fullness of “Deity” dwells in bodily form.
    Berean Literal Bible
And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. Matthew 24:30

Heiser also does not say that the NT is explicitly Binitarian. Heiser is a Trinitarian not a Binitarian.
Yes, it’s true that the Jews were Binitarian during the Second Temple period. There is a traceable history of progressive revelation in the Bible. It is no different with the Holy Spirit. The personhood of the Spirit was not fully revealed until the New Testament writings were formulated.

We can use common sense to figure it out. Paul mentioned the simplicity of Christ. We are made in the image of God, we are both body and Spirit we are one entity, we are not a trinity. So, God is both body and Spirit like us. We read this in, 2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. God did not trash the flesh when He finished with it on earth, he raised it from the dead in a Spiritual body and made it His habitation as God Almighty. John saw Him in the book of Revelation. We read this in, Heb 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels' spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom. The Trinity is wrong, Jesus is the only God we will ever see. We read this in, Rev 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: Rev 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

John looked at Jesus as the word of God and as the representation of God. I look at Jesus as the Human manifestation of the invisible Spirit of God. The Spirit in Hebrews the first chapter says, “But to the Son, He sayeth, thy throne O God is forever and ever, the scepter of thy kingdom is righteousness.” Christ was with God before the world came into existence. One prophet says that He was from everlasting. God almighty manifested in human form as our saviour is the whole theme of scripture. Jesus said, "Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. Jesus was the incarnation of God Almighty in Human flesh.

    The Meaning of One
1Co 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is ONE Spirit.
The Spirit is God's essence. Spirit is what God is, and the Spirit He is is the Holy Spirit. That is the missing key to understanding "the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. The reason the Father and the Son are One is because they are the Holy Spirit. This scripture makes it plain. The Spirit is also how we are one in them when we believe.
Ro 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but IN THE SPIRIT, if so be that THE SPIRIT OF GOD DWELL IN YOU. Now if any man have not THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST, he is none of his.
10 ¶ And if CHRIST be IN YOU, the body is dead because of sin; but THE SPIRIT IS LIFE because of righteousness.
11 But if THE SPIRIT OF HIM THAT RAISED UP JESUS from the dead DWELL IN YOU, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by HIS SPIRIT THAT DWELLETH IN YOU.
Ro 12:5 So WE, BEING MANY, ARE ONE BODY IN CHRIST, and every one members one of another.
1Co 10:17 For we being many are ONE BREAD, and ONE BODY: for we are all partakers of that ONE BREAD.
1Co 12:12 ¶ For as THE BODY IS ONE, AND HATH MANY MEMBERS, and all the members of that ONE BODY, being many, are ONE BODY: SO ALSO IS CHRIST.
In the exact same way, Jesus said,...
Joh 10:30 I AND my Father ARE ONE.
Joh 17:11 ¶ And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that THEY MAY BE ONE AS WE ARE: (IN THE SAME WAY)
    Joh 17:20 ¶ Neither pray I for these alone, but for THEM ALSO WHICH SHALL BELIEVE IN ME through their word;
21 THAT THEY ALL MAY BE ONE; AS THOU, FATHER, ART IN ME, AND I IN THEE, THAT THEY ALSO MAY BE ONE IN US: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

Jesus comes to us in the Holy Spirit. The Spirit doesn't leave them, it emanates from them. That is how God is omnipresent. His Spirit permeates every place in heaven and earth.
In the book of Revelation, in the last two chapters, where it talks about the new heaven and the new earth, we find no mention of the Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit is there, in the Father and the Son. What we do see is a river of life flowing out of the throne.
Re 22:1 ¶ And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
Joh 7:37 ¶ In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
Joh 4:10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Ex 20:1 ¶ And God (Elohim, plural) spake all these words, saying,2 I am the LORD (YHVH) thy God (Elohim, plural), which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

I have a plausible alternative explanation for why the name "Yahweh" appears twice in Gen 19:24.
Check out the following verses: Gen 12:15, 40:13, 41:8, 41:14 ... this is just the first 4 instances where the title "Pharaoh" appears twice in one verse. These verse aren't referring to two Pharaohs.
My explanation is simply that it seems pretty common in the Hebrew Bible to repeat names for clarity, so there is no confusion regarding who is being spoken of.

    • @kostpap3554
      @kostpap3554 3 роки тому +10

Its not that simple. Take psalm 110 for example "The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool." Even though "the LORD" is Yahweh and "my Lord" is Adonai, it is known from context that the psalmist's Adonai is Yahweh, so you have two Yahweh's (actually three because the first Lord then speaks of a Lord that is neither of the two), especially if you take into account that when one would recite the verse they would say adonai instead of Yahweh, so one would have heard "Adonai said to my Adonai", and have the two speak with each other. Or take psalm 45 "Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore oh God, thy God hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." So we have, God, who is also a king, but then this God has a God Himself that annoints Him. So what is happening here? If you go further in this psalm you see a particular woman, who is the king's/God's daughter, and at the same time she is also a queen (in ancient middle eastern context, the queen mother, because the kings had many wives and concubines, so the queen was always the king's mother, and not his wive(s)). Therefore this female figure is God's daughter, but also God's mother. So you have two Godly figures, one of whom is also a litteral man, because there is this woman that is His mother. Things are much more complicated than what they seem to be.

@@kostpap3554 Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the input!
In Psalms 110 the most likely candidate for "Adonai" is the Messiah. This Psalm reads a lot more naturally as Yahweh assigning the Messiah his role! I think it seems like a stretch to say that the Adonai mentioned in Psalm 110 was intended to be Yahweh Himself.
Happy to be shown any explanation to the contrary though!

    • @kostpap3554
      @kostpap3554 3 роки тому +7

@@lizzard13666 I don't think its a stretch. Imagine a jew of the 1st century BC, hearing from the psalm my Lord/Adonai. Who would he have thought David's Adonai is? Yahweh. Now as he would have heard the recitation he would have heard "Adonai said to my Adonai, sit at my right hand until I place thine enemies as a footstool at thine feet" since the divine name is always replaced with Adonai. So if David's Adonay is Yahweh you have 2 entities that are both Yahweh. Even if the second Adonai is the Messiah (which he is "Thou art a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek"), this makes the verse even more complicated because He is addressed as David's God, ie Yahweh, so the messiah appears as both God and man at the same time. This also happens in Isaiah chapter 9
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and his rule shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
So you have a child, the power of whom has his origin in Himself, and who is also called "Mighty God, Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace". There is also psalm 45 "Thou art fair amongst the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore oh God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows."
Again you have a man, "thou art fair among the sons of men", who is blessed and annointed by God "therefore God hath blessed thee/thy God hath anointed thee", but at the same time he is also God "thy throne oh God/therefore oh God" A very logical way to make sense of this is to assume that the Messiah is both man and God. This would explain why the woman in the following verses is described as both his daughter (as God), and his mother (as man).
And lets not forget the third Adonai of psalm 110.
"The Lord (written YHWH, recited Adonai) hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou (Adonai) art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
The Lord (Adonai) at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath."
This third Adonai is treated equally to the second Adonai, so if David's Adonai is Yahweh, then this third Adonai is also Yahweh.
I don't know how you make sense of this, but I don't think its that simple.

Hi Dr, are you aware that even the great Rabbi Akiva understood Daniel 7:9 to mean one throne for God and the other for the messiah. See Talmud Bavli Hagigah 14a. I read the Aramaic but here is the English translation from Sefaria:
The Gemara poses another question: One verse states: “His throne was fiery flames” (Daniel 7:9), and another phrase in the same verse states: “Till thrones were placed, and one who was ancient of days sat,” implying the existence of two thrones. The Gemara answers: This is not difficult. One throne is for Him and one is for David, as it is taught in a baraita with regard to this issue: One throne for Him and one for David; this is the statement of Rabbi Akiva. Rabbi Yosei HaGelili said to him: Akiva, how long shall you make the Divine Presence profane, by presenting it as though one could sit next to Him? Rather, the two thrones are designated for different purposes: One for judgment and one for righteousness.

I think Michael Heiser has completely misunderstood Daniel chapter 7, as I explain below. Also Gen 19:24 (where Yahweh is mentioned twice) is probably not a description of two divine Powers, but rather the ubiquitous nature of the one Power, called God, Who is simultaneously in heaven and on earth. The oneness of God is indicated in the Shema (Deut. 6:4-9 and elsewhere), which bears no sign of a duality. However, my focus is on the book of Daniel. If God were a duality of Powers, I would expect this to be clear in the Tenakh, and made clear by Moses.
Daniel chapter 7: First, note that the one Daniel saw was "LIKE a son of man", not actually a man/human being. The speaker often omits the "like", treating the term as a particular man (perhaps blinkered by the NT). But we can see from the text that It is a metaphor/symbol. The "one like a son of man" is a metaphor for God's kingdom and His people (the Jews). THE ANGEL PROVIDES THIS INTERPRETATION AND MEANING IN VERSE 18.
Here's the meaning: Just as the four horrifying beasts described in chapter 7 are not real animals but symbols of the pagan empires of the Babylonians, Medes, Persians and Greeks, so in the same way the final image of “one like a son of man” is NOT an individual, but a SYMBOL or METAPHOR of “the holy ones of the Most High”. See Dan. 7: 14: “Then to him [the one like a son of man] was given dominion - glory and kingship. Every nation must serve him; his dominion is to be everlasting, never passing away...”
The angel explains this vision to him in verses 16-18: “These great beasts, four in number, mean that four kingdoms will rise upon the earth. BUT THEN THE HOLY ONES OF THE MOST HIGH WILL RECEIVE THE KINGDOM AND POSSESS IT FOREVER.” So there we have the meaning of the "one like a son of man", as I put in capital letters. In summary, just as the four beasts were symbols for the pagan empires that fell and passed away, the one like a son of man is a symbol for God’s holy kingdom peopled by the holy ones of the Most High. The image comes “with the clouds of heaven” (Dan. 7:13), which symbolises God’s manifestation (a theophany), confirming God’s presence, authority and blessing which accompany the symbol of the one like a son of man. IT IS NOT JESUS OR ANY PERSON. IT'S JUST A METAPHOR. Note that there are no markers for (or pointers to) Jesus in those verses. The image of the one like a son of man doesn't come down to earth (as Jesus did). It is not a redeemer or messiah or an atoning sacrifice (key markers for Jesus). And there is no death or sacrifice undergone by it. Moreover, there is no divinity associated with it. The metaphor is ushered into God's presence like a vassal or servant would be. It doesn't stride in to meet God. It is "led" into God's presence, which indicates a subordinate position.
Note also that the “one like a son of man” does not come down to earth from heaven (as Jesus supposedly did), but rather is brought into God’s presence. In the same way, purified Israel will come into the presence of God to receive everlasting dominion and God's blessing, and so will replace the depraved kingdoms of the pagan world.

Yes it's all explained within the book itself. IDK why all the extranious theory. I think it's a bit dishonest to overlook the interpretation within the text.
In my experience you get a better understanding by taking time to study it yourself rather than having someone explain it to you because they can so easily guide the interpretation.

    • @psandbergnz
      @psandbergnz 3 роки тому

@@YahLion77 , yes it's explained by the angel. If there is rabbinic writing from the Talmud that perceives a midrashic messianic implication, that would not be relevant to a Christian (or messianic/Christian) understanding, since Christians don't regard the Talmud as inspired. Secondly, rabbinic writing is _midrashic_ in nature, _not_ exegetical. In other words, the rabbis are not analysing the text to find a primary or literal meaning, but an expansive meaning, and their concept of messiah is quite different from the Christian one.

The only passage that's confusing is the one from Genesis in Sodom and Gomorrah. The others ones are easily understood.

Nowhere in the Bible is God called son of man. So in Daniel it's probably the future king that approaches God who sits on a throne.
