Yes sir, him, Henderson, McGwire, I liked Doc Gooden, George Brett, Cal Ripkin, I liked Jim Abbot as a kid watching him pitch with only 1 hand and throing the glove on real quick. Then Griffey came in and Randy Johnson, great ball to actually watch
The A's were one of my favorite teams growing up in addition to the Reds. Canseco, Henderson, McGwire, Lansford, Eckersley, Stewart....man I miss those days.
I was a huge A's fan in the late 80's and 90's. They were stacked with MVP's, Cy Young winners and ROY's. I still can't believe they only got one WS win out of those teams. They should have had at least 3 WS wins during those years.
Huge Reds fan here. They are mediocre now, better than last year but not by much. They don't deserve a playoff spot this year, but maybe next year if they go out and get some actual hitters and starting pitching.
Me and my 2 uncles would collect Jose Canseco cards. Specifically Canseco. He had so many iconic cards throughout the late 80s. It was some of the best memories of baseball card collecting. Both my uncles have since passed. But I still remember it, like it was yesterday. Canseco still looks great. Thanks for the memories! 💯🙏
This was probably one of my most favorite episodes that you've ever made. I love Jose Conseco and I too grew up watching him and still collect his cards. Thanks Geoff! :)
They made a movie on the A's not sure which team it was tho. It was when they were really bad and they had the lowest paid team and they did really well
Always amazing seeing Jose Canseco! Thank you guys for bringing him to the show and also for having him signing his rookie card. Wish to win that card!
Jose Canseco was my Hero as a kid growing up in Ohio in the 80s & 90s . I became interested in Jose after my Stepdad Charles Smitley told me stories about him playing on the Modesto A's with Canseco before Jose ever became a pro. My stepdad told me about witnessing Canseco hit home runs so far that he believes Jose may have hit the farthest home runs in all of baseball at that time. I have a Modesto team photo somewhere in my memorabilia collection. I collected over 500 Jose Canseco Cards and even collected a bunch of Jose's twin bro Ozzie also. I'm pretty sure I had every main brand Jose Canseco Card ever printed. Your show with Jose really brought back memories. Thank you for that !
The 1986 Donruss Canseco was the card to go after in the 80’s. I remember all my friends had that card and we had them in binders trading back and fourth. What great memories of an iconic card.
Jose Cansesco was my favorite. I remember my dad took me to my first baseball game to see him it was against the Mariners and he hit a home run awesome!
II grew up in the Bay Area and he made baseball exciting again, Jose thank you for all the awesome highlights and all the incredible plays you made throughout the years.
Man that's awesome! Jose Canseco pulling his own card from 1986 donruss. Jose Canseco, Barry bonds, Mark Mcguire, and Ken griffey were the names that always stuck out to me in the 80s
Hall of Fame worthy... One of the best players in the history of baseball... Jose Canseco carried this hobby and made a lot of people, a lot of money !
It is amazing how internet can connect us world wide . On my case iam combat vet retired i used this hobby to distract my mind and i loved Jose Canceco greetings from Puerto Rico.
The 87' Topps card was the true chase on my block growing up...because it had a TROPHY on it. The '86 Rated Rookie was something us kids only saw in 1" thick screw down holder at the card shop, next to the owners 52 Mantle.
Jose made me fall in love with baseball and baseball cards when I was a kid. I was never lucky enough to pull any of his rookie cards but the Donruss Rated Rookie was THE card back then. I dont know if Jose knows how popular and loved he was/is. My favorite player of all time. This signed Donruss Rated Rookie card is everything!!!!!!
I chased this guys card back in the day. I was in high school, started working when I was 16. Instead of buying things to upgrade the car I had at that time, instead I searched high and low for his cards. I still do have the 2, 86 Donruss rated rookie cards that I could afford back then as a kid. Looking at the cards I have, 1 probably would hit a PSA 4 or 5. The other one forget it, I colored the edges blue to get rid of the white edges thinking it could be worth more 😂. My card collecting hobby really started with Jose Canseco entering the league. Thanks for the awesome journey Mr. Canseco
Holy cow! Such an awesome video! I think it’s so cool to watch these guys rip wax for their own rookie card. It’s fun to hear their stories and see their reactions when they finally pull the card.
I will never forget my mom buying me this card at a garage sale for $12 in 1988 or 90. Had been looking for it for ages. Jose was my baseball hero even had his name engraved on my bowling ball at the time. The biggest shock when I looked at the card... It had a completely different back. The person who sold it put two cards in one sleeve. The other was Ken Griffey Jrs UD 1989 RC, which I immediately sold for $175ish. Kept the Canseco of course. Two cards worth $230-240 at the time for $12! Thanks Mom! Went to his car wash in Vegas a few years ago and bought a signed ball... So cool.
Videos like these makes me want to revisit my old cards from when I was kid. I too was always looking for Jose’s card every time I opened a pack of cards. So exciting!
My son's favorite player of all time, he would love this card for his collection. He doesn't have any of Jose rookie cards. This would make his whole world.
Jose has been my favorite athlete since I was a kid...Pulling a Canseco in 89 was the ultimate thrill...Would love to have an autographed rookie...Thanks for doing a video with Jose, it's great to see him doing well!
Fond memories of Canseco and McGwire as a child. Made me love the ole green and yellow A's ball cap. Thanks for having Jose on and hearing his memories from his rc season and his moustache growth/lack of for the donruss rc!
This Video was Awesome and brought back some great memories! 1986 was the first pack of baseball cards I ever opened. I was 9 years old and my favorite Aunt bought me 1 pack at a liquor store. I'll never forget opening that pack of 1986 Donruss and getting a Vince Coleman card. Of course I wanted the Canseco, but never owned one. As an adult, your videos got me back collecting again. Thanks for the inspiration, hope to see you at the National Show in Chicago at the end of the month
Easily my absolute FAVORITE player as a kid growing up in Northern California. Nothing like going to A’s games and seeing Canseco hit home runs in ‘87-‘90. Him and McGwire aka Bash Brothers were larger than life. Canseco’s ‘86 RC is STILL one of my most cherished RC’s in my PC today. Good seeing him out and looking jacked as ever. 💪 ⚾️
I was such a huge Jose fan as a kid. One Christmas my uncles have my a life-size cardboard cutout that they found at a gas station that wasn't for sale and offered the owner money for it. I kept it up in my room for a big part of my childhood.
Jose is one of the reason I started collecting as a kid, It would be nice to win this knowing he pulled it and signed it. love your videos keep up the good work jeff and crew

Bless my dad wish i could have shared rhis video with him....he would have loved it! Thanks for sharing with us! Great memories 😂
One day I hope I can have the opportunity to meet Jose Canseco myself as well. He alone is the reason I even got into sports in general and collecting cards specifically. That 86 Donruss rated rookie was the card. Every kid in my generation was clamoring to find so we could brag to all of our other friends what we had.
Jose was my favorite growing up. I was born 1980 in Boston and he was my fav. He and Rickey soooo fun to watch and collect. Rickey Henderson rookie was my first big card I bought. $70 in 1991 still have it in the PC. 🔥❤️ I never was able to get that donruss Jose rr card as a kid. Huge card growing up. I never saw it in my area for sale.
I grew up a Braves fan and was a very biased fan but Jose Canseco was my favorite player that was not a Brave. He was electric to watch and having Rickey Henderson as a teammate made the A’s my favorite American League team. I would love to have that signed card to add to my collection. My favorite player as a kid! He played for the Huntsville Stars 45 minutes away from my house . Was definitely the guy around here to collect & still do. Love tha show!
My childhood hero. I even played on the A's in my little league team the year they won the World Series. Perfect storm for nostalgia. Still collect him today.

He was distracted by a blonde in the outfield, standing in the general admission section, and was late breaking on the ball. I'll never forget it. Later in the series, he had one go through his legs, because he was distracted then, as well, and didn't even see the ball coming. I'd love a chance at that signed card, because Jose and Mark McGwire were my favorite players. Thanks for doing this video! I can tell you about another 3 game series we went to, where Bo Jackson broke 5 bats over every part of his body after strikeouts, but that's for another day...lol
Brought back some fun memories as a kid watching him and other late 80’s players. How cool was that to have the goat open cards while telling stories. Great questions too.
Always idolized Jose Canseco playing whiffle ball as a kid! We would hold our own 'Home Run Derby' on our makeshift field...and any ball that hit the top of the tree by the road was a home run. I was always Jose Canseco when we played Home Run Derby. And better yet...I ALWAYS won!
Bash Brothers was the Bomb!!! that A's team is one of the greatest teams ever!! Loved watching Jose Bash Baseballs 450+ feet. Some of the most exciting times for sure.
My wife loves Jose. She says he was always her favorite player (but that’s because she thinks he’s hot). I just enjoyed watching him and Mark McGwire (The Bash Brothers) hammer home runs, and bash their huge forearms in celebration. Jose was a great athlete, and made baseball a lot of fun to watch. Thanks Jose for raising the appeal of the game.
Wow! As someone that grew up collecting baseball cards and watching these players at a young age, so amazing. And still in shape! Legend status 100. There was athletes that would swing by the military post at times while we was there, sadly never him . Amazing video
I've hunted this card for roughly 30yrs now and still have yet to pull it lol. I have bought a few but never found in wax. Still a class act guy, forever one of the greats!

Was a huge fan of Jose Canseco as a kid, and always wanted that card! Have other Canseco cards in my collection as an adult now, but could still use an '86 Donruss RC! Having an autographed one from this SCI episode would be incredible! 😀
Man it's crazy, I remember going into a hobby shop with my father in '86 and the card that everyone wanted was that Jose Canseco Donruss, it was going for a decent buck back then and it's what got me into the hobby entirely. So cool to see him opening the same cards that got me into this fun hobby, that A's team was very special back then.
I started looked for his cards in 86’ when I was 6. Jose was my favorite player as a kid. I grew up in Wisconsin and got to see him hit a home run vs. the Brewers when I was 9. Would love to have the card! Great video
Canseco was the guy to pull back then. I remember buying his 87 Diamond Kings card from a LCS for $3 back in the day because I didn’t have a Canseco card and you weren’t cool if you didn’t have one. I still have that card! This was a fun watch.
He was the guy to chase in the hobby for a good amount of years!!! The hobby needs to thank this man!

That’s a nice razor sharp rookie too
Like how Jose is careful with the card unlike other stars
Such a joy watching this video and listening to Jose. What an awesome guy! Brought back memories of playing ball at the park! Haha good times. 🤙🤙
Canseco was the guy to pull back then. I remember buying his 87 Diamond Kings card from a LCS for $3 back in the day because I didn’t have a Canseco card and you weren’t cool if you didn’t have one. I still have that card! This was a fun watch.
So cool. I remember pulling his 1987 topps card and loving that photo.
I remember gifting this card to my brother as a b-day gift from a pack I pulled when we were kids. He was a huge fan
I remember digging through the packs of cards, hopeful and excited to find a Jose in there. Thanks for the great games and memories!
Jose was one of my favorites growing up, loved collecting his cards. Would love to have that auto card! This was a great show!
Loved watching Jose and Big Mac as the bash brothers. He still seems like a cool guy. You rock Jose!
Amazing episode! Jose Conseco was so much fun to watch and I really love to collect his cards.
