I think this series showcases what makes Gordon so great: He may not be THE best at any specific kind of food, but he is amazingly versatile in his cooking. He shows incredible respect for the various food traditions he encounters, while at the same time not letting 'food rules' dictate how or what he cooks.
Gordon Respect every Chef and he doesn't feel the necessity to show his superiority. He has the urge to keep learning. That's what makes him great.
Absolutely!
Perfectly said
???? his a multi michelin starred chef he is the best kid
@@FM-dm8xj I'm paying him a compliment, friend, not insulting him. There are amazingly talented people, and there's a bunch of other 'multi Michelin starred chefs', as well as an abundance of people who maybe deserve the Michelin star but never had the opportunity to get it; claiming to be THE best is just arrogant, unless you're able to conclusively prove it. Gordon isn't able to prove this - in fact, he routinely loses cooking challenges against both masters of various styles, and skilled hobby chefs. His own mother - a former chef - is an example of someone he's lost to, as well as hobbyists who have worked long and hard to perfect a single dish. Where Gordon shines is, like I mentioned in my initial comment, his versatility and his incredible respect for every style he encounters, as well as his eye for details.
To see a well renowned chef travel to our country to experience our cuisine is just amazing... Makes me feel even more proud of this patch of land that we call Home. Aotearoa New Zealand not only is one of the most safest countries on earth, it's also one of the most spectacular places to live. Our Kai is to die for, our scenery is second to none and the people here are wholesome... Tena koe Gordon Ramsay
pai te korero, its very humbling as well. makes me even more proud of our heritage

Well said mate
Its just New Zealand 🇳🇿
You should be neighbour (I am an Aussie) - watching this makes me envious!
Monique is amazing! She now has her own restaurant in Wellington, NZ call Hia Kai, her menu encompasses Maori food that is foraged by her and her chefs
Unfortunately it was closed in march
@@BubbyTheBubster why was it closed? i really want to eat there
It's such a weird thing to see Gordon being the one pressured to finish cooking hhhh such a great show! 💜
😂😂😂 I was thinking the same
“How far down to dig the pit?” says Gordon
“2 feet” she says
“stop it!” Gordon says lol
So many adventures and places travelled to source the items for this feast. The finished product looked amazing and the respect that developed between chefs was heartwarming and authentic. Thanks for another great adventure ….. and yes Gordon shot the goat! It’s all about organically sourcing the ingredients and he has done that since day one. Way to go Mr. Ramsey
I agree, it also made me hungry😂

NZ what a beautiful country
I used to cook rabbits I hunted like this as a young boy. I read it in a Gary Paulsen book, became obsessed with hunting and being able to survive in the wilderness. Lucky for me my grandparents had a farm and a lot of woods. So I would live for days at a time by myself on the farm. Wonderful memories this video brought back
that would've been insane to live on a farm with a forest outback. a massive playground in the yard, endless things to do from hunting to camping and everything else between.
@@nonethy-9914 I would spend my entire summers on the farm, I am incredibly fortunate to have experienced that. My parents and all my friends didn't understand why I would want to be there instead of hanging out with friends but the freedom I had to do whatever i wanted, make mistakes and learn from them was invaluable.
@@jakek6728 man I would've loved to have the freedom of a farm and what not. maaaaaan the stuff I would do is endless haha crafting to surviving (even tho you can always go home for a feed) but the thrill would be exhilarating.
He should do another NZ episode there's so much more he never got to try like kina, crayfish, mussels, tuatua, muttonbirds, flounder, butterfish, lamb etc:
Omg yes
uncharted is gordon's best show by far in my opinion. so authentic, so honest and genuine, so sincere in its approach to showcasing the amazing variety of cultural foods locals might even take for granted
this show is giving me such an appreciation for the ingenuity of humanity to harvest enjoyment out of the beautiful world around us
What an incredible two shows in New Zealand. I didn't want the show to end. Brilliant, absolutely amazing to watch
Gordon took the meaning of a Chef to whole new level. That on itself deserves an award bigger than those Michelin stars.
Loved the respect he bought with him to Aotearoa. Wish more brits were like him when it comes to engaging with our tīkanga, nē?
Agreed 🙌
Idk why but i love when Gordon always invites special guests to come dine with him at his restaurants, theres something so inviting about his persona.
Aotearoa is beautiful and has an air of untouched history..something you feel.
thats so true Mr Gordon. A lot of Maori and Polynesian dont like sharing their secret of making food to anyone but to share food is always in our hearts
It is wonderful to see the hapa haole Kiwii/Maori are melding the cultures and not losing the Polynesian Triangle heritage with the added bonus of Gordon interacting with people who are NOT TV Kiwis
@@rumi108 You need to look up "hapa/", BTW there are also quite a few Samoans in Kiwi Land not all Polynesians in NZ are Maoris
This show reflects everything Gordon and Maori... connected, passionate, smart, wise, talented, focused, grateful, humble, funny AsF and REAL.. and I looooove that Gordon is able to impress each host
I love this show not only for its awesome content, but because it reveals a humble side to Chef Gordon which I have rarely seen in any other of his programs. It’s a truly remarkable show and it’s helped me see a bit more into the human side of one of the best chefs in the world.
its amazing to see someone who loves food and respects the culture like this man
lol it was so hilarious watching chef Monique talk to chef Gordon
She really knows how to handle him😂
Eating that gorgeous food over that beautiful view.
Great to see Gordon with the Kiwi spirit!
Best way to cook.
He helped promote other countries traditional and cultural heritage through food and cooking. Respect to that man, he knows he is one of the top chefs but rather feel the natural taste of other countries.
Grew up in New Zealand now live in the UK love this series!
Gordon is a legend and showed his generous spirit here!!!
This channel is Underrated idk why more people arent watching these videos.
Pretty sure this channel is called Uncharted
because theyre so old
theyve been on disney+ for years
My new favorite series
Awesome work Gordon! NEW ZEALAND WELCOMES YOU BACK ANYTIME!!!!❤❤❤❤
I like the new Chef Gordon Ramsay now.. Accepting ideas and learning from other.. NOW THATS MY CHEF!! :)
the beauty of this is that even an elder can learn something from a young, as long as he can appreciate it 😇🤗
Absoutely this is big within our culture.
Want to visit New Zealand, really like it.
The mountain ranges of NZ are breathtaking
I love this series. Please do more of secret food all over the world.
What a feed, looks mean az lol But that's true, we're not very flashy with our style of food. I'm glad a chef of his caliber liked our food style a bit lol. Nga mihi from Aotearoa.
One of the cooking techniques shown like the underground cooking has been practiced in different parts of India since centuries....Gordon you are simply amazing as always....love and Namaste from India 🙏☺️
One of my biggest loves with hunting and fishing is giving it to new people to try and seeing them love it. From trying pheasant for the first time, to sausage and charcuterie, a lot of really cool things I've learned the last few years.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and I watched it as I had heard that Gordon Ramsay was really friendly and a pleasure to work with. It changed my mind as previously I had thought he was an arrogant Bugger. Sorry Gordon Haha love from New Zealand 🙂
You could see it pained Gordon a bit to take the goats life. Good on you Gordon for being respectful. I've been to Stewart Island and it's hauntingly beautiful.
Gordon is the mannn!!!!!!!! Awesome bro !!!!
this is a brilliant episode. Gordon comes across so well. Love how he can relate and enjoys getting his butt kicked!
So much respect to you Chef Gordon Ramsay..Hope to see you in person one day🙏
I love how she's pushing him for time. I'm sure the guests aren't too phased. *It's Chef Ramsay after all!* If he was cooking for me, he can take all the time he needs.
Great shot gordon, you really give it your all at everything you get the joys of doing. Maybe we could all learn a thing about his enthusiasm and motivation.
Bloody hell that was a great shot. You can see there was a lot of wind blowing and shooting from sitting can be hard work 👏👏 what an awesome video. Those hungi fire pits get stupidly hot too 😅
This makes my soul smile as a cook and as a human being
Cook and human is the same thing. Calm down and try not to be so over dramatic 🤣
@@joeb1den114 calm down and try not to look too deep into emotionless text on a screen, worse yet in a youtube comment.

I never thought I'd see Gordon Ramsay on a guided hunt in New Zealand harvesting a feral goat with a suppressed rifle.
Carry on! 😃
Finally, I think Gorden met his match in Monica! 😆
I'm very intrigued by the grub sauce. And the kelp steamed fish.
To say nothing about the stone pressure cooker earth pit technique. That's a lot of work. But it scales to a whole goat, I guess.
Yes, usually the hāngi is most commonly used for large gatherings like funerals or festivals. The hāngi in this video is obviously a very small one.
If you like gordan Ramsey there's always more it never stops
Another great episode so happy Gordon Ramsay got to learn Maori way of cooking food look like he really enjoyed it 💙
Hangi is the best!! Could eat it everyday 😭😭
same
This series is so fun I'm obsessed
Gordon, you have inspired me to see the World 🌎
Tena Koe Gordon Ramsay 🤌❤️😹
Fantastic episode
This is my first time watching this show, but I recognize this chef Monique after watching the final table.
I think NZ is a good place to live beautiful scenery there.
Stunning. Fair play Gordon, living your best life!
Wow this channel need more hype, this is good stuff
I really enjoyed this thank you.
I think Monique and Gordon really match. They have the same strength of personality and vibe, and they get each other!! ♥️
'Just like tying your shoe lace. Pretty sure your kids could do it.'
OUCH
Wow that made me hungry, wish i was there eating that yummy food
I am loving this series!
Great stuff. I was last down to Stewart Island, maybe 1972. A special place. Foveaus Strait is really something - went down on sea as flat as glass; came back with waves breaking over the ship which was steering at about 40% west of the destination, Bluff.
Ka pai Mr Ramsay
Yes gordon , my G
Gorden Ramsey thanks for making an effort to visit my tinny little country and cool about our Kai kiora ehoa thanks legend
proud as!!
Wow beautiful food with an amazing country 😍
Loved this episode ❤️ Monique (sorry if I spelled wrong) is Amazing!
*He Needs to come back, he didn't try a Boil up!*
He’ll prolly hate doeboys haha
Как это атмосферно😢 жаль выпуски такие короткие, с такими прекрасными людьми и в таких тихих местах ((
beautiful
Totally homesick. Gordon - you "Scot Limey Good Bastard"... thank you.
10:56 Monique - Guests staring at us
10:58 Gordon - Are they?
10:59 Monique - Need to move, Need to move
11:00 Gordon - I know, I know, I Know (reminds me of the lyrics to L.A.B Natural)
11:03 Gordon - Right, coming out of the pan in 5 seconds
11:07 Monique - 5... 4...
11:11 Gordon - Hold on, my lemon
11:12 Monique - 3... 2... 1... Ti-Ti-Ti-Ja, Ti-Ti-Ti-Ja
Such a Maori thing to do... funny as. Monique representing the whanau🤣.
And Jeremy, a typical local... Hori as!!!
Wow New Zealand, what a country!
Even within NZ, i feel the traditional hangi is under appreciated. City folk rarely get the opportunity to participate in or even eat hangi cooked food. I was lucky enough to grow up in a small rural town with a Maori presence who knew how to prepare a hangi for generations. And lucky enough to attend public community events where food was prepared in a hangi, otherwise i'd never have eaten it. Amazing food, 10/10. Sadly I've never had the opportunity to prepare/cook a hangi myself, would love to one day.
It's a lot of work, and requires preparation/resources you don't normally have sitting around. But well worth it if you have the time and want to do it.
Finally some flavour in the hangi….
wow that is amazing. my mouth is watering
Good shooting Gordon and I'm jealous wild goat meat is the best 😁😁
14:00 I can’t believe they translated him 😂😂😂
Awesome stuff Gordon, Kiaora 💙🖤
Wow I didnt know hes been here this man times 🤯🤯
Never ever seen someone count Gordon down lol
Did you keep the paua shells gordon? They are very lovely and are sometimes used as trophies of recognition
Mostly used as ashtrays here
nice shot though !
A Hawaiian luau uses pit cooking as well, I see the islander similarities.
Sure your Kids can Do it
Ramsay: 👊 wanna fight me
Wow ! how great was that.
Kia ora Gordon. Kia Kaha ehoa ♥
I like that woman's tattoos they look cool
glad yt didint take these down
thank you guys for not making gordon say the other f word good show from tokomaru bay east coast nz
I love how he kept calling them mountain goats when really their just a standard wild goat😂
Gordon Ramsay please come to Uganda I show you our sweet food
Brilliant ❤😊
Monique is slaying Gordon for good. If ever somebody to even complaint of lifting and re equipping the propane cooking gas ama show them Monique
Hahaha I laughed when he said goats were an invasive species and the shot was a Scottish thistle in the foreground
if i ever hear a chef complain in the kitchen im sending them to you hahahaha
Tremendous gordon
