Your long hair is one of your best features, please don't change it or listen to jealous people that you don't even know telling you to change it - I wonder what their hair looks like? Your hair is unique and lovely, I love the colour and the wonderful volume, it always looks good, I'm glad you're growing out the bangs/fringe, I don't like fringes, I think women always look better without them and they might irritate your skin or frame parts of your face that may not be someone's best feature, like an "important" nose or slack/wrinkly skin. Great tips, thank you Ziba
I think a fringe depends on the individual face. A high forehead or longer face for example. In my case, I have a light fringe and it really does suit me but can be swept back with a hairband etc if required 🤔
Thanks for the kind words dear! It definitely made my forehead feel hot all the time 😂 I think it’s easy for people to be mean online but I understand it’s part of the territory with putting out content online every day. 😊 Fortunately, there’s more kindness and kindred spirits more often than negativity! That’s such kind words Erika, thank you for the hype up 🙏❤️you sound like a very confident loving lady! I think some criticism can be constructive, I used to hardly style my hair and now I at least think of it 🫨 hope you have a fantastic weekend!
I love your hair in all your videos! I have to keep my fine hair on the shorter side because that works. If you have gorgeous, thick hair, keep showing it off!
I have said this before but feel I should say it again - your hair is gorgeous! I so wish that I had your hair and I’m in my 70s. I’m fortunate enough to look much younger but I have to keep my hair short because it’s so thin. Long hair suits you so well and is one of your outstanding, eye catching features.
I retired at 70 and since then I have been to the gym three times a week and I do facial exercises every day. I pobably should have done that sooner 😂. I have a healthy interest in fashion but refuse to be a fashion victim. I prefer to wear what makes me feel good, like the cream, maxi length trench coat from Karen Millen. It makes my day when complete strangers take the trouble to stop me and comment on my outfit. We should never stop making an effort, so as long as I can, I will. I love your channel as it informs me of what’s new, provides styling ideas and all without dictating to me. Think about how many people have said how lovely your hair is and don’t listen to negative comments; you do you because you ooze style. God bless you.
I recently bought a couple of herringbone blazers and I wear them with rhynestone brooches to brighten up the greys, like Prada/Miu Miu did on the catwalk recently. I bought a set of 3 brooches from Zara, they also do a tweed blazer and miniskirt that comes with embellishments (sparkly flowers that look like brooches) and it's a lovely twist that updates what could be an old/slightly frumpy-looking piece of clothing. I like modern classics, timeless but with a youthful twist because I'm only 58 years young and slim, I don't want to look like someone who's given up on style. I don't intend to dress too old ever! I love my denim jeans, shirts, jackets and dresses, can't get enough of double denim, thin cord jackets and trousers and suede jackets. PS Excess weight is very ageing, we should all fight against the middle-aged spread around our waist which spells menopausal/old woman. It's not easy, but eating more veggies, (sweet) potatoes, winter squashes (kabocha is so good and slimming), fruit, mushrooms, wholegrains and legumes and less or no oil/fried/processed foods can help you lose weight while still eating big portions. The Physicians Committee's non-profit YT channel has really helped me lose weight healthily without going hungry, please check it out if you're interested.
Thanks for your feedback and all this wonderful information! Weight can be aging both ways, and hormones make it very challenging to strike the happy weight. Love the idea of taking care of your body and seeking what works 🙏 Also, you sound super chic, love those styling suggestions with blazer and mixing hi-lo! 😊

Hi Ziba! First time to your channel. I so agree with you on heavy earrings stretching earlobes. That’s such a pet peeve of mine. My first consideration with any earring purchase is how light it is.
Hi Tiffany! Me too, thanks so much for saying hi😊 These are some earring I got last week I’ve been loving because they’re crazy light but still statement rstyle.me/+xM2laLQUSkSoPxO0ZPnaug, I like that the brand calls out which ones are “lightweight”🤗
Ziba bangs looks gorgeous on you. I think you should try again. I also a few years ago got curtain bangs, and it really makes you younger…. And I agree, evolving, changing style it’s so youthful. I was really hardly taking aging, even though I don’t age too much, but quite clearly, at 54, I don’t look no longer 30’s 😂😂😂 by changing my style, this year, from stuffy Chanel , to old Celine and similar brands, adding accessories , styling, I got feel better, it’s more simple, but with edge styling, shows like you don’t try too hard, and it made me feel younger, and I kind of don’t feel too bad about aging. Minimum complexion products, glowing skin, it’s all making me feel good 😜🙏❤️
Oh great swaps! Incorporating more effortless pieces does really help doesn’t it? I love heavy eye makeup but it’s not looking good on me🤦♀️ do you have any go to skincare hacks in your 50’s?
@@ZibaLennox Ziba Chanel it’s too much, it makes too dressy any outfit, and doesn’t allow you , as a woman, as your style shine. And does not make you look younger. I started late, cause I always had flawless skin but super sensitive. So I thought it’s not for me. I tried slowly with those popular exfoliating pads, and Biologique recherche P50, and 3R . Hey lady!! First off, I want to express how much I love your hair!! I'm not sure who has said what, but I think it's absolutely lovely!! And I agree completely about evolving your style but also not changing things at work... Last year I decided to stop coloring my hair and pull on gray because it was about 70% there anyway... And it's honestly change my luck in the most positive way.. I hear all the time that I look younger which is ironic😂😂😂 but I have learned that fighting against some things age us more than intended. Of course I take care of my skin, eat a healthy diet, move my body daily and try to get my water in, but I don't think of those in the terms of fashion anymore. It's just self -care that we deserve... Now as far as fashion tips go, I agree with every single one of these tips. Up until a few years ago, I was very guilty of shopping at only a few stores that did not help me in the frumpy department 😂 and have definitely expanded my shopping horizons. Thank you so much for always having wonderful content!!
Thanks so much for your support! I'm so glad you're feeling confident and amazing in your own skin. Wow, what a transformation, thanks for sharing your journey! And self-care is EVERYTHING ❤️🥰🙏 I know you love coach bags, but what type of store are you favoring now for your clothes?
@@ZibaLennox I'm shopping more on GAP, Banana Republic Factory, regular Banana Republic, J Crew, J. Crew Factory, Abercrombie (didn't see that coming last year 😂), Macy's, JCP, and Quince... Before it was a little chain store here in the south called Cato, Belk, Lane Bryant, Torrid, and Old Navy... I worked in a more formal office setting then and I was also plus sized. Over the course of my 40s, I have lost 55 lbs and gained a different sense of style. Definitely more minimal but still classic..
I’ve never heard of anyone mention doing their blush that way. I love that tip and that sun-kissed look! It’s so youthful. I even have added fake but natural looking freckles. Would love to find that blush tutorial! I also have bangs because I have a wide forehead. They drive me absolutely crazy but it seems like I need them. So glad I found you.. just discovered your channel today!
Thanks so much! I love a good sun-kissed look too, will try doing a shorts video on it. 😊 Bangs are not for the weak of heart 😂🙏 I haven’t done the fake freckles yet but love how they look!
I have been wearing brooches since I was 14- I am now 55. Most don't know how to wear them, or why! Let me share 4 secrets: 1: Don't go for anything with diamantes. It will detract from your outfit, you want the brooch to add to your look. It also looks cheap. 2: Make the brooch serve a purpose- where you would normally use a safety pin on the inside to close a deep v neck etc, use a brooch instead. Also works well to tame a lapel with a life of it's own. 3: Use a brooch to break up a flat color top. You can even add a small piece of fabric of a different color under brooch to achieve this. 4: be careful of statement neclaces when wearing a brooch, rather focus on earrings. I think that's it. Once you have a good collection, you will have a choice for any outfit.
You growing out your bangs looks so cute.one of the reasons I started following you was I love your hair. I can’t do short bangs but I have curtain bangs that I part in the middle. Those are so easy and grow out easy and if you cut them again it’s not as big of a deal if you don’t like them. ❤
Thank you for the kind words Jamie! And for subscribing ❤️ Great tip✅I am currently trying to get to a curtain bangs point😂 have a hair appointment soon. Wish me luck 🤦♀️
The forever 21 bit had my rolling 😂😂😂 I’m so guilty of this I know they don’t really have anything for me but I still try to make something work. I have to let go of those stores 😩
Haha, I think it’s nostalgia especially when we historically found nice outfits at a given store and either we changed or they did! Sometimes the quality changes too🤯 i.e. Club Monaco
Ziba. Another well done video. First, I cannot wear large earrings for fear of ripping up my earlobes. Second because of my height (5'10 or 5'11), I cannot wear capri pants because then it will look like I'm wearing high waters. Mary Tyler Moore made capri pants a big fashion statement when she co-starred on "The Dick Van Dyke Show" in the early and mid 1960s. Capris for me just doesn't work well. Young fashion like Forever 21 or online ones like Shein and Fashion Nova are for young women only. Finally, when it comes to heels, I can do no higher than four inch. Years ago, I tried platform heels that were five or six inch heels and I nearly broke my neck. Your long hair is lovely and stylish by itself. 🥰❤
Your hair is fantastic! I'm 74 and the past few years my hair has begun to thin a great deal! It's such a pain in the butt to style so that the very thin spot isn't in full view. I'm only 5' so everyone is taller than me and can easily see that area! I would give anything to have hair even half way like yours! Don't ever let someone say you should change it! Bangs are fine but just one more thing to keep trimmed and "just the right length"! I wouldn't bother with them again!
I'm so sorry to hear about your hair, that's a difficult situation. There’s so much emotion attached to our hair 🙏 My mom sometimes where a topper, but they give her a headache! Thanks for the extremely kind words, and taking the time share your story and kindness! Have a great day 😊
Great advice, but not all of us over 40 are a size 2, 4, or 6 and super model thin. I have boobs, hips, and a curvy figure. The models you show are super thin.
Thanks for the feedback. I usually try to show a variety of body types but in this list it was very focused on the “don’ts” and many were general ideals like 1,2, and 5-9😊
I'm a curly girl and am 100% with you on the bangs...the maintenance gets absolutely brutal. Clothing proportions also make a HUGE difference and I always try to balance something looser (like wide-leg jeans) with something narrower on top, and pay attention to not hiding my waist. I'm a size 16/18 without a super defined waist, and my secret weapon was doing a higher-rise on pants and jeans (I've been buying almost a ribcage rise), which works GREAT as long as the cut is more modern. I'm 48 and having those statement pieces (like your burgundy boots) or a stunning piece of jewelry that can be a centerpiece (a slightly bolder necklace with more understated earrings) is definitely the way to go. Too many people "give up" and fall back on the capri/sneaker look without realizing that fashion can actually get easier as we get older if we keep those solid core pieces, then keep our look updated with a few trends each season. Thank you for continuing to inspire the way I look at fashion!
Hi Molly, thanks for sharing your kind words and styling tips, I love that you find the power in proportions! It’s fascinating how little tweaks can help so much. Is there a brand of jeans you like for your ribcage jeans? I haven’t found a pair I love yet!
I love brooches, I always have, especially some of the vintage diamante ones. I often put a simple brooch on my cap or beret. I like to be 'current' but with a slight edge and not follow the crowd.
Oh I see your cap in your pic, tres chic! That’s a great spot for one too, I just heard of someone putting on their bag. I better get serious about my brooches, I have 2!!
Yes, like a lot of Brits I had them forever! I only grew them out a couple of years ago. I do quite miss them as they kept my hair out of my face and felt very me somehow, but I have to say I probably look better without them!
I adore my Capri pants I recently bought at Zara. My calves are a good feature on me. How can u not like your legs? You’re crazy! 😂 At 61, Zara is where I shop. Never going into those stores you mentioned. 😩Grew my bangs out and now just cut them again. I like them shorter. U look good either way!
Capri pants are so fun! Especially if you love your calves. I don’t like the color of my legs (like skim milk color😝) and I’m thin but have a lot of cellulite. It’s just genetic! If I could have kept up the bangs I would’ve kept them!
I think Walking in heels is a learned skill. I used to be a ballroom dancer and danced in heels all the time. When you walk alot in heels you tone and strengthen your ankle and feet which helps. I found there is a sweet spot for heel height. Anything over 3in is going to be more difficult to walk in 2.5in is my favorite height and most walkable. Over 3in messes with your center of balance. I’m 5’10” so I don’t have a desire to wear them to boost height so I am never tempted to go over 3 in heels.
Wow, that’s so cool! What’s your favorite style of dance? My husband and I tried tango and failed miserably 😂 I love watching all types; waltz, fix trot, etc. I agree that anything too high isn’t flattering!
i feel your struggle with the hair. i have very curly hair. i actually look like i have a “spiral” perm and choose to wear it long to help pull some of the curl out. i sometimes have banks depending on how curly it is that day but my hair is always pretty much the same. the struggle is real. i’ve tried real bangs too and i looked like me head was lined with pen springs.
That made me laugh out loud 😂 your your hair sounds like what I wanted for so long!! I have this no man’s land wavy situation and always wanted tighter curls! We always want what we don’t have 🤦♀️ my stylist is always telling me to lean in to my natural state, much to my dismay😊
You look adorable with bangs, and your hair looks thicker with bangs. But I get it - I have frizzy hair which has gotten worse since menopause, but went back to bangs because I refuse to get botox/fillers in my forehead, and it's so hard to keep my bangs from twirling up and looking messy as the day goes by.
Thank you! I take wellbel and it seems to keep my hair pretty healthy but have always needed a hair oil even when I was younger ☺️ I have considered getting frownies have you ever tried them? Wonder if they work!
Hi! And preference! An oversized button down or sweater looks chic with capri pants that are cut well or go with your leg shape. Some people look better in slight flare while some look better in all tight. I do like culottes too but don’t wear them often (or capris are either! 😂)
I agree with everything, brooches can be lovely but kind of like the capri pants to pull it off you need good taste. Good taste is not subjective and many disagree but tacky is tacky.
since you brought it up I think instead of bangs you need a shorter more classic hairdo. Perhaps a shoulder length bob, not so much volume. I am not trying to be mean but your hair needs taming. It looks dry and unruly. It really is too long, the best it looked in this post was straightened and off your shoulders. Many, many women have longer hair that looks like a fur stole hanging around their shoulders. I am not jealous. I have my hair done in the salon every 8 weeks or so since it grows very fast and it is silver now and needs care to keep it soft. I am hoping that the super long hair soon goes out of style. The long tendrils with the super wavy curls that so many are doing is on the way out. Save it for highschool and college girls. You could have super healthy, sleek hair that would go better with your outfits and style. Again, I don't mean to sound mean. It is one of those things that just because you can doesn't mean you should. In this case super long, fly away hair.
I should say stores marketed towards older women 😊 they have some basics and accessories that really like like trousers, button downs and blazers! Where do you like to shop?
Your long hair is one of your best features, please don't change it or listen to jealous people that you don't even know telling you to change it - I wonder what their hair looks like?
I love your hair. I love how full it looks. Whomever criticizes your hair, needs a hobby.
That’s very kind of you! We all try our best, I don’t look perfect every day but that’s ok! 🥰 have a very happy Thanksgiving😊
Love. Brooches. I put them on my purses and Jean jackets
Oh gonna do the purse, great idea. Like canvas ones?
I’ve never heard of anyone mention doing their blush that way. I love that tip and that sun-kissed look! It’s so youthful. I even have added fake but natural looking freckles. Would love to find that blush tutorial! I also have bangs because I have a wide forehead. They drive me absolutely crazy but it seems like I need them. So glad I found you.. just discovered your channel today!
Thanks so much! I love a good sun-kissed look too, will try doing a shorts video on it. 😊 Bangs are not for the weak of heart 😂🙏 I haven’t done the fake freckles yet but love how they look!
great tips thanks
Thanks for letting me know 😊
I have been wearing brooches since I was 14- I am now 55.
Most don't know how to wear them, or why!
Let me share 4 secrets:
1: Don't go for anything with diamantes.
Love these tips Claudia! Thanks for sharing your insights ✨✨✨
That’s so nice that you are tall! Most of us are trying to look taller😊 the ear thing is real 🙏😂
Have a great day 😊
Simplicity does the trick. Sophistication is silent. It never goes out of style.
Absolutely!💫
Good advice.
Glad it was helpful!❤️
You really suit the long hair, beautiful, I do prefer it without the bangs but it was a good look too
Awe thanks! It was fun while it lasted even if I couldn’t handle the maintenance 😂 have you ever had them?
Yes, like a lot of Brits I had them forever! I only grew them out a couple of years ago. I do quite miss them as they kept my hair out of my face and felt very me somehow, but I have to say I probably look better without them!
I definitely like you better without bangs 😘 keep growing them back out. You cracked me up with your retirement home capri pants comment 😝
Haha thanks! I'm glad you liked that 😂 it’s just in good fun. 😊
Please do a video of walking in heels techniques!🥰
Sounds good!! 😊Thanks for watching ❤️
Please do the walking in heels video!
Sounds good!!! 😜😊😊
I'm obsessed with round gold
pendants now
Any particular brand?!
Look for vintage brooches in thrift and vintage stores
Smart!!
Capri: no. Culottes: yes. It's all about proportions.
neither!
😂 my mom would ruthlessly agree with you 😊
I have no idea as to why this Ballerina would hate her legs!
Hi! Sorry, I should have expounded. I don’t like the color or texture of them, tights help! 😊🙏❤️
@@ZibaLennox I HATE my legs! Tights do help but it needs to get cold first!
My 62 year old friend constantly dresses like she did in college.
Awe bless her!!
Your hair is Your glory.
Thanks for the kind words! ❤️🙏 happy holidays!
I think the super long hair over 40 is rough to keep. If you cut your hair to shoulder or bob length, it would be very modern and stylish.
Mid back is the shortest I can go without looking like a triangle head😂 tried a bob in business school, but thanks!
since you brought it up I think instead of bangs you need a shorter more classic hairdo.
What are you talking about? Why don't you like your legs? They look amazing!
Haha! Thank you, they’re very ghastly pale and I don’t have good skin elasticity 🫨🫨 in thights I feel good!🙏
There are NO age appropriate stores. You cant win. And frankly, I don't care anymore. And finally, Chico's is tacky shit.
I should say stores marketed towards older women 😊 they have some basics and accessories that really like like trousers, button downs and blazers! Where do you like to shop?
