  • Hi BMS Pilots, we are back with a new tutorial on Mission commander and how to start your own campaign editing process (intermediate skills).
    I am limiting myself on purpose because some of the stuff for campaign creation goes into very advanced editing skills and tools manipulation.

    A couple comments from Falcas himself :)
    - Links
    There is a faster way to do:
    On the map tab, you will find "Link Armed" and in newer versions also a "Link Mode"
    If the Link Mode is active, just hold down the CTL button and left click on the first Obj. You will see the Link Armed light up.
    While holding down the CTL, click on the second OBJ.
    - POL
    09:55
    Make sure that the victory objectives are at 100. You could have more objectives at 100 but make sure the trigger file is setup correctly.
    - Divisions
    You can mix obviously battaillions types in Brigades if necessary (especially for supply battalions.
    - SAMs / AAA and PT points.
    15:30
    There is no need to change the database if the objective cannot hold all the vehicles.
    This is just an indication there are more vehicles than PT points.
    23:19
    You can only place SAM / AAA on objectives that are not SAM ready.
    What IS important though...
    For fixed SAM systems (like SA-2,3, Patriot) it is important to only place them to Objectives which have the SAM flag set.
    If this is not the case, the battalion will start to move to a different location.
    You can see this in the Objective list or if you open a Objective.
    As with the links, this is a job of the theater creator to set as he thinks is good.
    In general Airbases, Army bases, SAM sites have this flag set. But you can choose not to set it if there is no RL space for a SAM.
    - Objective Delta
    23:00
    Objective Delta can be used in SaveX.cam.
    Hope this clarifies some of the tutorial aspects!

    I am trying to add a squadron to a campaign, using BMS U2 / misson commander 0.5.18.615
    I have copied data/campaign/save1.cam -> tsave1.cam and save1.tri -> tsave1.tri
    -loaded tsave1.cam into mission commander
    - Under the Campaign tab I have changed the Scenario and
    Saved Name to "tsave1"
    I added a squadron (5642) from the Units tab / Add Squadron and unchecked Control Set by HQ.
    I ran the "Check Units" from Units / Advanced Options, got "no problems found".
    When I click on Campaign / Saved, under "Choose Squadron"
    I only get "25th Squadron, 36th, 5th"
    My "5642" is not showing up.
    And when I look at the 5th, 25th,36 squadrons in the Mission Commander / Units
    all of their "Control Set by HQ" are *CHECKED" / on
    Is the "Control Set by HQ" the "controlling factor" to making my squadron
    available in the UI ?

    Hi there, thank you for the tutorial, I would like to ask how to remove a certain amount of pilots so that I can have a maximum of let's say 300, is it possible?

      This is done in the art folder for the UI part but in the tri file from a campaign engine perspective...

    HI Max. A question. The C130 Squadron..why y put this out of map? It is necessary to make it work? They will act for the supply and fly in the 3d world anyway? Many thanks.

    Hello, I'm getting a lot of troubles at the moment of adding weapons to an squadron in campaing, how is the best way to achieve this?

    1. Do we have to rename the Scenario tab to match the Saved Name in campaign page? 2.Victory objectives must be set to 100 is that right? Can we have two victory objectives per site? If yes how do we setup the tri file. If you can please give a simple example. I use to have a lot of problem setting up a working tri file that blue forces can win...Thanks! Nice tutorial!

      You must make sure that your campaign save matches the saveX.cam name for theater otherwise it won't work...
      For objectives, keep one 100% per side but you can use tri files to change that behavior.
      Check the latest falcon lounge kuwait campaign as I have made a very specific tri file for it. Maybe this will inspire you...
