If all my center pieces are aligned with the smallest sticker but one rotation away from its rightful side, what algorithm do I use to put on the right side of the middle layer? I'm halfway through but don't understand how to move it without reversing all my progress.

Hi, assuming all the middle layer center pieces are currently wrong (1 move away as you describe), you must fix the middle layer centers first before moving on to the middle layer edges. If you have not done middle layer edges, then you don't need to lose any progress on the first layer, and the center piece on the right side of the cube can be flipped using R2 U2 R U2 R2 as described in the video.
