  • I am trying a different format to explore deeper into our cultural differences and what makes us unique.
I made a Part 2 on this topic, view that video here: • Trinidad Sayings and t...
I will be posting these talking videos from time to time to cover what I cannot in my travel vlogs, in this case, language and saying specific to Trinidad and Tobago.
Each country has its own proverbs to live by, wise words to follow, and that is what I bring to you with this video. I was having a conversation with some Jamaican friends and I used a Trini saying and needed to explain myself as they did not get the context. I thought it would make a good topic for a video.
10 Trinidad sayings and their meaning:
    1) Better belly buss, than good food waste
    2) All skin teeth eh laugh
    3) Dog doh make cat
    4) Monkey know which tree to climb
    5) Take front, before front take yuh
    6) Cyah make love on hungry belly
    7) Yuh didn’t invite me to the wedding, doh invite me to the funeral
    8) De higher monkey climb, de more he show his backside
    9) All bread have cheese
    10) Yuh cyah play mas and fraid powder
Hope you guys enjoy the video, please let me know if to continue this format.

It is I who must thank you. You have a positive and enlightening approach to matters pertaining to T&T. There is a lot more to explore like "Temple in the sea", the fact that Hindus worship at the Catholic La Divina Pastora Church in Siparia, the bold and intriguing story behind the establishment of Point Lisas. Dr. Williams actually outwitted Amoco on that one. There is also the story of Dr. Lennox Pawan discovering the link between rabies and the vampire bat with very modest research facilities at St. Clair during the 1930's. Good luck to you!
