Wow the similarities. 😂😂😂 In Jamaica we say "What sweet nanny goat a go run him belly," "cockroach no business inna fowl fight" and "what is joke to you is death to me". We say tief from tief and the old broom one too.

You will heard most light the older folks using some, made these videos as sort of a way to preserve them as they are not really in use anymore. Thanks for watching!
Number 6 (COMMON SENSE BEFORE BOOK SENSE) reminds me of the Wife of Bath (Chaucer) when she starts her Prologue with the words "Experience, though noon auctorietee......." (Experience although not Textual Authority) Punching out her theme from the very first go! In other words, athough other (pilgrims) speak of their causes by using their education, she believes her ways have more truth by what she has learned in her lifetime.
Thank you for the video. My grandfather is Trinidadian and often says some irritated exclamation that sounds like "ah beg ah soy mey wee." He refuses to explain it and no one else in the family can provide a translation. Do you have any clue what he might be talking about?
Hi, Thanks for watching! I have not heard that one before, because of the "wee" i think it might be french creole that used to be spoken in Trinidad but it sadly dying out, i will try to research it to find the meaning.
I was hired out of Trinidad to relocate to Jamaica to lead team of graphic designers. After about 6 years there there was a need for a similar role in the same company in their Tunisia location. So i relocated there.
@@YohanPartap I didn't think it was that bad. I recommend maybe reducing the volume by 5-10% on the main speaking parts and a tad higher on your intro or even your transitions
I still use some of these sayings when speaking to fellow Trinis and also to my foreign friends. I have to explain the meanings to the latter and they find it very hilarious.
BRILL,BRILL,BRILL, Thank u for enlightening ME.!!!❤
