Much appreciated Jordan and welcome to the vibes
I do this every week I work in marval and live in chag once you aint buying food and living off ah bread and eating once in the morning and once in the evening you will have ah 5 dollars for ah lil snack
I already feeling for you with that morning and evening traffic, and props for surviving this lifestyle, hopefully you’ll work your way up
This was really good. You earned a sub from me buddy. The oats fir breakfast is a plus. Now imagine if you had really acrioned on your idea and visited the market and cooked a pot of food to freeze and heat every day for lunch. I imagine you could have gotten a little sugar for the oats. But this is a great tip for those who may not have a functional fridge or even microwave because I usually cook my oatmeal on the stove. Excellent content
Now and again I cook oats on the stove as well, but attempted to do this with a mixture of bought food and groceries instead of strictly groceries and cooking and somehow survived, lol…I greatly appreciate the support
Found your channel from lydon and oh my bro your content is really great. Thoroghly enjoyed it as you touched on things we have to do sometimes just to survive. Is there anyway you can do a video on how to startup a small business whatever it maybe or like turning 1$ into 2$, 2 into 3 and so on. Really love the content and can't wait to see what else you have in store. Thanks again for sharing.
Welcome to the vibes and thank you, the channel main focus is T&T but that’s an interesting idea to look into for a future video
Love the video but were is the nutrition
Thanks… yeah it’s not a balanced diet in this one 🙈
HI Rajeev have to try some peanut butter in the osts delicious. There is also a breakfast place opposite Len Hap in Duncan Vlg.. Thanks for trying me no will not LOL.
I did combine them for dinner Friday night and I agree…oh yeah I keep seeing that spot and kept telling myself I’ve to try them one of these days, thanks Donna
I need 3 doubles every morning. I already fail there. Lol but I enjoyed watching this.
Lol, it took rel Discipline for me to be asking for just a doubles, everybody was watching me like this man serious about life
@@TrinbagoVibes 🤣
I really love this man inno... I really love him.... The Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago should watch this video..... Bout $500 food card.. I always question myself how people can live on $500 a month.. 😔 And yeeessss baiiii dat doubles on the cross does be rel boss... I know who you bought it from just by looking at it... 😅😅😅
🤣🤣🤣 boom!!! At the doubles recognition, lol, Jed you real have to strategize if it’s $500 for d month, especially if it’s a family to feed
@@TrinbagoVibes yup.. 😞 Its not always easy to help the less fortunate.. You do what you can and as much as you can.. But when you do videos like these.. It really shows how much you can help people going thru it.. Look at how many people in the comment section are helping each other find better priced items.. And how we are conversating..these are the types of content creations that Trinbago needs!
@@tamiajackson Exactly, I was pleasantly surprised these conversations started in the comments, cuz I didn't expect it, but I'm super happy it did
Yes bredda you is a legend, but living in country we have it nice, dont have to buy any provision at all, niether seasoning, and am a fisherman so is level fish.have rell fruits too,so does my nieghbours.matter of fact i could buy a bottle of cheap puncheon with that 100 an live off pure roast fish an roast provision, could survive a holocast here in moruga an still enjoy life an be healthy
Now that is the ideal life, I’ve been tallling peeps once we can feed ourselves off the land and sea we good to go…country life ftw
Are you from the north and work in south? I’m confused.
Affirmative, I currently reside up north, but I work south, but I’m originally from south, lol
How much is a $100 USA in Trinidad
The current buying rate (bank rate) is approximately 6.8 TT to 1 US, so $100 USD is approximately $680 TTD…it’s $700+ on the outside
More economical grocery choice would make this challenge more efficient. Tin sausage us $4 elsewhere. Also this was my life in UWI 😂
Probably a particular brand of tin sausage but I went with that jerk flavor one, yeah if could have been more economical but wanted a hybrid between bought food and groceries and well groceries that were relatively fast and easy to prepare
WHERE???? not in this timing.... The cheapest I can find a tin sausage is for $5.50
And hats off to your life in uwi struggle.. I can relate.. 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for sharing this challenge , it make me realize that my family survives on less than $100 per person a week. I even share. Planning and cooking meals helps a lot. I thank God for providing food for us. I still can't believe it!!!
That’s phenomenal Ingrid and yes planning and cooking helps tremendously
Why d doubles an only roti nahh could of be basic
Rice butter eggs sussage flour cook something
Dat not even weight loss 🤪
That $100 would have been for gas to get to the grocery...
Good thing we weren't counting gas😂
Yuh know and my tank takes $200 TT to fill, lol
hahah ent
That's just gas for the car, what about the cooking gas?
@@brendahart5472 if you already had cooking gas then it wouldn’t count, even if you have to replace it, can get the smaller tank, which is around $40 TTD (I’m not sure as I’ve the bigger tank that’s around $165 TTD, but that lasts at least 3 years) otherwise some fry leaves and branches for a fireside, can even create a type of chulha/dirt oven if need be, so you can negate the cooking gas
A week on $100...a pack of lentil, a small pack of rice, a small bottle of oil, maybe corned beef..boiled water drinking. Fresh seasoning (blend and before they raise the price again), split peas.
Sigh...I probably went over plus my huzzy picky 🤣🤣😁
Btw you got yourself a new subscriber....ME😁😁
Lol, yuh was on a roll with the items, and some good choices, I lol-ed at the price of seasoning…welcome to the vibes
You could've gotten some basics and cook! Like small pks of rice, flour, dhal, bhaji, patchoi, hot dogs, etc you could stretch certain things when you cook and even eat the same thing for 2 days lol
That I could of but I did mention I wanted something relatively quick and easy to make…plus I thought it would be interesting to do a mix of groceries and bought food…also I may not have gotten everything you mentioned above at the grocery
Ask a mommy to go to the grocery with you next time. You would have gotten 15 proper meals with some variation.

You can try some green fig, greens, lentils, and bhaji boy. Very filling... The bread is really light. And packaged foods are filled with preservatives, not much nutrition.
Yeah I realized that doing this challenge 🙈 the oats was a lifesaver…but yeah next rounds I plan to do a full grocery/market challenge
So basically you could eat doubles whole week and survive 😢
Technically you can, it’s a mess health wise, but basically you can
Actually doubles is very balanced and healthy and also vegetarian compared to MacDo, etc.
This challenge was very entertaining and enjoyable to watch😅. Very happy that I found your channel.
Glad you enjoyed it and welcome to the vibes
Honestly this is pretty good, I've been talking to my parents a lot about learning to spend their money better but they just keep buying expensive food after expensive food, and cooking every single day and wondering why we have no groceries at the end of the month, but this shows that 1 person only needs a little over 100 dollars to eat comfortably as long as they chose the right foods and not spend needlessly, I would personally buy a carton of eggs, and a pack of rice, just make egg fried rice and survive off of that for a couple weeks
Nice, yeah I kinda spent it poorly, health wise, but once you set your mind to something, you’d be surprised what you can achieve, plus it’s enjoyable reading comments like this knowing it has peeps thinking about their budget
That’s not good for your health at all
@@raymondvankenie3106 I'd be consuming other things along with it of course, personally I dont need to eat 10 different things to be satisfied
This is some really great content, bro!! Looking forward to more!!

Very eye opening!!!👏🏽
Unfortunately it was only 2 lbs 🤦🏽♂️ lol, but there were moments hunger kicked in and it was a mental battle but the oats was a lifesaver and yeah this was definitely an eye opener for me
You did well! I probably would not have made it past Wednesday! lol Saw some people talk about Meal prep too, that helps you save too, once planned properly

Great video. Pro tip for the bread buyers, parlor bread. It's still from Kiss and its only 12.50. Save yourself the 4 dollars.
Ohhh, I didn’t even know that, well until now, thanks for the pro tip
Okay. Here me out. A mixed chicken pack from massy:18 a bag of rice $10 a tin of red beans 7 a bag of lentils $8 fresh seasoning $10, 2 flavor the pot $ 4$, bag of oats 10 and you will have money left over.
That’s a pretty good plan as well to survive the week, especially as some of those mixed chicken parts you get 4 pieces in them
@@TrinbagoVibes yup.
Best time of the month to find the mixed chicken pack?
@@jaylenelinoli yup
Man u real good. I does run through$100 a day on food with ease not because I'm rich which I'm not, but I love to eat. This video gives me a new perspective and a hell of a challenge
Lol, thanks and yeah doing this also gave me a new perspective on the way I spend my funds for food as well
It would be nice to see a video of what the average person would spend in Trinidad and Tobago on a weekly basis. From food to gas. 🥴
Those what I spend in a week video….🤔🤔, May do one later this year
Very interesting challenge, if you could make roti, a small 2kg pack of flour would have been more than enough to make 3 rotis per day , and dumplings on some days. once you have to buy bread that going to kill your budget
Butter bread ftw, besides I was going for relatively quick and easy food
Literally all you ate were doubles and roti. Supplemented with bread and peanut butter.
Why not try to do a video where you eat something healthy or properly on a budget. $100 in food but then 100k in insulin you'll need after giving yourself diabetes this week
Stay tuned, you may see that later down
I feel like you squander the money that $15 roti was a bad purchase could have gotten 4 or 5 pack soup for $20.....just my opinion
One man 4 pack of soup is another man roti, lol, to each his own…for me that roti was a life savor
good very good toms up i like your chanel
Thank you 🙏🏽
It really didnt make sense to proceed without going to the market first, like regular folk. Healthy options for cheap.
To each their own, wanted to see if I could have survived with a mix between groceries and buying food for the week, which I was able to and round 2 will be either a full market or grocery run #spoilers
Raj Raj..buy you have to sit with pen and paper and work this thing out. Buy flour and make bread..bake..roti etc. Even polourie 😄. It takes A LOT of planning to succeed. Good luck👍🏿
Wanted things quick and relatively easy, lol
Nope...not going to work like that..but thanks for trying🤗
You did it wrong, lol, a small pack of rice, two packs of meat for arnd $20 bucks, oats (yes), bread and you could have healthier options @ $100...been there did that, found this pretty entertaining!
Lol, wasn’t any right or wrong once the outcome was the same at the end of the week 😁
Good one bro ,ppl could learn alot from this.
Thanks bro and I hope so, this was an eye opener for me, especially in d grocery
I'm definitely trying this. Great way to loose weight too.
You would think so, lol, but is carbs in this one, but it’s a good way to save money
There is a far better way to do this - your diet has too many carbs in it, and almost no protein - the only worthwhile item in your selection is Oats but its horrible the way you eat it. First with Oats. Put some salt, and butter. You dont need much butter if you are going to do a week that will impact the price. For almost free use margarine/oil or golden ray. Instead of those Vienna sausage which is mainly carbs, buy a can of Brunswick Mackerel (i think the tomato version is cheaper) which is like around 15$ in the grocery (
These are some excellent ideas, definitely the next rounds
Well thought out, I got mixed fish for $6/lb in the Mark recently. There are definitely possibilities.
I was wondering if it would be possible to consider creating another video showcasing the concept of eating healthy while on a budget. I believe this topic would be beneficial for our audience and aligns with our mission of promoting wellness.
Yeah I do plan 2, I’m kinda happy this video actually started conversations between and among peeps on how they would survive and the possibility of doing it a healthier way
🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹yes I love to see other trini youtubers new subbie here
Boom!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹 welcome to the vibes
@@TrinbagoVibes awss thank you content is 🙏🔥🔥🔥
As a mom, I'd do Rice, 30. lentils 10, garlic and onion 10, Milk 30 and Sugar 10. May save the change lol or get the kids some Bourbon and Custard Cream. If no gas, 10 $5 bread, Milk $30, Sugar $10. A butter? Lol!
Where has $5 bread 😱 I would have probably gone with the oats instead of sugar cuz milk and oats is much better than water and oats…but that was a good plan
@@TrinbagoVibes there's a $5 butter bread lol.
@@AyanaInChrist oh right the smaller butter bread 🙈
Love your challenge....we are gonna try this at work..but a bit different though...more protein..vegetables..maybe fruit...tea from picking like..lime bud...moringa
Boom!! Let me know how it goes 😁
Great attempt. Im sure u could have done even better if u pre planned this. most lower end groceries have cheaper prices. Eg. that 17.50 crix i does pay 14.50 for by chase mart chase village
Yeah I probably could have but it was timing and convenience
Nice video I enjoyed watching the sad part about it for me is that somewhere in Trinidad a family is trying to survive on that Same 💯 a week
Thank you and yeah this is an unfortunate reality, especially given our historical wealth from oil and gas and probably less than $100
Enjoy your channel. Why weren’t fruit and beverages included in the challenge? Realistically, one must at least drink water, especially with peanut butter! 😮
Thanks, certain fruits are expensive in the grocery and I was drinking and using water from the tap
This is actually an eye opener on just how much we spend of food a week.
Yup
idk man 2 packs spahgetti is about 3-5 meals there and thats about $14. Could eat that with the sausage or cook some peas, or eat it with butter or cheese. A bigger pack of oats will be more cost effective too. Intersting vid tho, i think illl try that this week.
That sounds like a plan, if you go through with this, let me know how it goes at the end of the week
Trini survive anywhere worldwide,I like it , no one go hungry.
We make do with what we have
Good morning everyone have a safe and loved have a beautiful weekend to everyone nice beautiful I like grocery store to,

Nice concept. Next challenge $100tt in market to make lunch/ dinner for the week.
You’ve read my mind, lol, I’ve actually have that plan to do one day this year
Yessss ,I like this idea!!
I love this challenge and like yuh loss weight an all 😂 the Oats was the healthiest thing and also drinking water
Thank you and I wish it was more, only lost a 2lbs 😕
This guy knows how to stretch a $100 in Trinidad and Tobago
Lol, I got lucky
He could have done a lot better 😜😜
@@cloverflower2820 how would you have done it?
small pk of rice, dhal, 2tins of mackerel, flour, potatoes, pk of baking power, small oil and meal prep daul cook up and mackerel or lentil and rice and bake and fry aloo or curry potatoes and roti my 100 budget 🤔
That is sounding fantastic Stephanie, that’s definitely a good plan
It would be nice for you to do a challenge for $100 and cook everything yourself.
One day Lelia, stay tuned, on this challenge I wanted to do a hybrid between buying food and groceries, plus I was going for quick and easy as my week sometimes doesn’t afford me the time to cook, like this one
Peanut butter and oats make a nice drink. Great video.
That it does, ended up trying that combination Friday night, lol
I loved this video. I usually cook my oats in the microwave and I put it in for 5 minutes, with cinnamon and grated nutmeg. The extra time helps to develop the slimy texture. I'm trying the $50 challenge for snacks, because I eat a lot of snacks.
Ihu with the snacks, I normally use milk, sometimes almond milk, cinnamon, grated cocoa nibs and a touch of honey…so eating this with just plain water was very very challenging, it saved me cuz it was filling, but it was rough, lol…I’m happy you enjoyed it
If yuh have a few fig trees yuh could probably pull of that challenge with green fig alone, and if yuh not working then yuh have enough time to catch crab and fish but doh touch the nayba yard fowl
Lol, that’s true, the silk fig wasn’t ready at the time of this challenge and unfortunately I had to work
I did something similar during covid but it was on a lost bet, it was 500 for the month including weekends and it was easier than expected,10 packs of lentil peas for $8 each, a pack of pigtail for $30 and a cheap bottle seasoning for around $20, a packet of ketchup for $7 , 10 packs of 400g macaroni for $10 each and two 2lb bag of flour and that was lunch for a month and it cost $269. For breakfast was a Jamaican evaporated milk that was $5.25 10 of those plus 10 packs of oat for $9 each and a 10lb bag of sugar for $50 for $192.5
That’s superb Miguel, even on a lost bet
Trinidad 🇹🇹 and Tobago 🇹🇹 is very expensive. Just like the prices of the Chinese Yuan
Lol, I’m not sure about that comparison, but yeah some aspects of it is, while others not so much, especially compared to other Caribbean islands. Our current electricity rates and gas prices are relatively cheap compared to other islands as well as we don’t rely on tourism too much currently
Thank you for showing us the prices of food in Trinidad good to know great video bless you love from ny
You are most welcome

New King James Version Par ▾
The Fall of Babylon the Great
1After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. 2And he cried [a]mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! 3For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the [b]abundance of her luxury.”
4And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5For her sins [c]have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. 6Render to her just as she rendered [d]to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. 7In the measure that she glorified herself and lived [e]luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ 8Therefore her plagues will come in one day-death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who [f]judges her.
The World Mourns Babylon’s Fall
9“The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, 10standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’
11“And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: 12merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. 14The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have [g]gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. 15The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! 17For in one hour such great riches [h]came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’
19“They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she [i]is made desolate.’
20“Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you [j]holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!”
Finality of Babylon’s Fall
21Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. 22The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore. 23The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. 24And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth.”

I watched until the end to see your fruits and veggies. Keep it healthy even with $100 ❤😁
Thanks, it’s hard to keep it healthy with this budget if I’m honest with you
Nice video, Rajeev. You should have tried those chinese groceries dotted around the smaller towns. They open til 8pm on Sundays too. Even Maharaj Better Deal in Aranguez and Price Club in Chaguanas goes til 8pm.💯
Thanks bro, I just went with convenience, especially after a work day
Get some 24 eggs and a 5 lb bag of rice. Makes egg fired rice for a week .
It takes a level of discipline to eat egg fried rice all day, every day inno, but that’s a good suggestion
Don't think you should do 100-dollar challenge I think you did should do at least 300
Lol, it was definitely a challenge, $300 would make this easy
I love carribbean roti they are very delicious. I love eating anything with curry very tasty. That was an awesome challenge.
Your logic is undeniable Nikiiy wrt curry roti, lol and thank you
Matthew chpt.4 17FROM THAT TIME JESUS BEGAN TO PREACH AND TO SAY, REPENT:FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND
This was definitely fun Rajeev when I used to live in Trinidad I used to do the same just I would buy more stuff to cook tho and plus back then times was a little more easy so as a single person back then you could live but I must say that triple doubles now that is breakfast brother 😂😂😂nuff respect 🫡 and thanks for another great video
Yeah bro, that triples was really good and yeah back then you could have gotten more as compared to now. Thanks always for the support bro
Amazing if ever there is a apocalypse I am coming to find you.good one Rajeev
Lol, thanks bro…although we may not find any doubles peeps
Aye ah pot ah pealau 👍👍 locked on always
Boom!!! If you weee only nearby
pack soup is $5, 2lbs of flour cheap too. make soup and add dumplings. pumpkin cheap $3 a lbs. patchoi and bodhy cheap. a card of chicken is $19 so that is stew chicken right there
By pack soup you mean the ramen or Maggie’s?
@@TrinbagoVibes ramen but now that you've mentioned maggie it could be used too.
This challenge is really cool.
For me, i would buy hot dog bread $16.00 and the chicken hot dog sausage $10.00 Small Peanut butter $8.00 and cheap sunflower butter $9.00, piece of cheese $10.00.. slice bread, $17.00, 1.2 litre water for $7.00. Let these things carry me through until friday. Plenty mix and matching🥴😅👀 but friday,With $22 change, i reward myself with a piper roti and a classic cola. Sounds easier said than done..
But kuddos to you. You completed the job..
That water and oats tho... 😳
That’s a most excellent plan to survive this challenge, didn’t even think of the hotdog bread route, lol…but yeah Jed those oats and water was rough, ended up putting some peanut butter in it which elevated it
@@TrinbagoVibes love your videos.. well done.
@@mummyanddaughter3732 thank you 🙏🏽
I put it on the kitchen table lyrics and the
I would recommend adding some peanut butter to the oats when they're done, I've tried it before and it's really good 👍😊
Agreed, you know I did that Friday night and I was like why didn’t I do this before jed, lol
Eat like this every week and chances are you'll be in the hospital within a few months
Good thing it’s just one week, lol
hahaha excellent video!, alternative title, "how the present tt gov't expects citizens to exist"
Lol, ihu
Hi there. Big fan. Old fashioned rolled oats needs to be boiled and not microwaved. They are healthier than instant oats and have a lot more fibre because they are more natural. Instant oats is ok to microwave. Toodles. Keep up the great work. Ah love it!
Oho, look how I just learnt something, much appreciated for the info DCBS 😁 and thank you
I would like to do a part two on this challenge with you, same $100ttd and include transport in it
For me that would be instant fail as I work south but live north, lol…even with the $6 PTSC bus, that’s $60 for the week, meaning I’ve $40 to survive 🥲
I'm a few more years, we'd have to pay $100 for a few slices of bread 😔
This might be a sad reality
Real talk not every day is food
Lol, not food food but enough to survive
Yea bro I dropped a sub, hope it helps target more viewers for you👍. Hope you get more recognized bro
Much appreciated bro
In trinidad not tobago, and no dinner here, congrats to you!
Extremely difficult here!
It was definitely eye opening and challenging, especially asking for a doubles
Doubles and ah red Solo for breakfast, lunch and dinner! You should have some money remaining for transport but if yuh do it right, yuh buy d Doubles for lunch and dinner one time and yuh good tuh go! 😂😂
Chicken to feed a family of 4 is between $90.00 - $110.00.....🤐
Doubles and a red solo is the thing self, lol….but yeah for a family it’s rough
@@TrinbagoVibes Lol! Thanks for your comment. Really liking your channel. We needed that in TnT! May your viewing audience reach the 1Mil + mark soon! 😀👍🏼
